This is so I can follow it on the screen as I’m listening ### 4/5 — Repeat function and randomly stopping in certain books *2025-06-12, version 6.12.7* Long time use of this app and it’s phenomenal but I’ve noticed when it gets to the end of every book of the Bible, the Support Streetlights track never plays. the app says, Sorry we’re working on it trying to fix it. I really enjoy listening to the books on repeat but because of this happening it completely disrupts my listening experience. Additionally when I listen to some of the longer books like Psalms or 1 & 2 Samuel and 1 & 2 Kings it will randomly stop itself mid read. The features that you offer on the app aren’t offered anywhere else. I like listening to the Bible at 1.5x speed and I can’t do that on Spotify or anywhere else(to my knowledge) that this content is available in audio form only. To the devs: could you please add a feature to help track which chapters have been read? It would also be very helpful for the app to go back to my previous spot when I open it or navigate to SL audio Bible. Perhaps an option to move from chapter to chapter without having to back out or select the chapter number from the dropdown menu would also be helpful. Also 1 Samuel 18 seems to be a corrupted file. I used to be able to control play or pause from the iPhone play or pause controls, now I have to go into the app. 2. I used to be able to play from one chapter to the next with the app closed, but that also is broken. Great app, great message (obviously), but these new changes are for the worse. Keep up the good work but please restore the missing functionality! - Paul ### 2/5 — They read the translation’s section headings aloud. Why?? *2018-05-22* There’s a lot that this app gets right: visual aesthetic, ease of navigation, and basic style of the readings. But one thing knocks this down to two stars: the readers actually read the translation’s section heading with the actual tests. I find it more disruptive than their corresponding printed interruptions of the sacred text on the page/screen. Their use visually is to help us quickly navigate the text with a glance. As an audial/oral it serves no such purpose, but only creates problems such as hearing the headings as if they were the Bible itself. I’m glad that others have found life in this service, but I can’t get past this quirk. ### 3/5 — The music is way too loud *2024-11-25, version 6.12.7* It’s really difficult to hear what he is saying at times because the music competes so much. I do think it’s an interesting presentation of scripture. He reads it as if he is personally talking, opposed to reading, which helps the listener not drift their attention. I just wish the music wasn’t so loud/less busy. Sometimes the track is anxiety inducing because it’s just too much. It is lacking some basic features that would make it so much nicer to use, such as: - remember your spot when you close and re-open the app - automatically advance to the next chapter without unlocking your phone - control playback from the lock screen ### 3/5 — Can’t play while phone Locked *2020-05-15, version 3.0.0* One of the best things I used to love is that I was able to play the audio as my phone was locked. Now I can’t do that. It will finish playing in the chapter I am in but it no longer shows on my lock screen what is playing and after the chapter ends, there is no continuation to the next chapter. I have to manually unlock my phone and open the app and click the next chapter. I loved listening to this while in the gym. Hopefully this can be fixed soon! ### 3/5 — Love the app! *2020-03-13, version 3.0.0* Please make an update to fix the bug where it stops playing after the chapter is over, I often listen in conjunction to reading and it abruptly stops after each chapter if I leave the app. Please make it so it plays continuously so I don’t always have to come back and press the play button after each chapter. My only complaint is that each chapter is the same beat. Maybe switch the beats up every now & then but keep the voice reading?? Also, PLEASSEE make an update where I can control the app/chapters with my lock screen. I keep having to unlock and go thru the trouble to click out, and then click to the next chapter every time it's finished. I can't continuously listen in the car or on the bus. Other than the lock screen issue, I love what I've used so far. PS: sometimes it gets glitchy / ill switch to a new chapter and it'll keep playing the old one at the same time.. ### 3/5 — Love it. Glitchy *2017-06-07, version 1.0* Iphone 7 10.3 or whatever app fails to open and has numerous playback delays or strutters. App doesnt pause if disconnected from audio output( speakers get unplugged) love it other than the glitches.
