## What is Stretch?

A little scrolling is fun. But it's easy to lose track, and one more video turns into an hour.

Stretch won't lock you out. It just checks in.

Pick the apps that pull you in and how long you'd like before a check-in (20 minutes to start). They share one clock, and it only counts while you're in them.

When it's time, Stretch asks you to get up for a minute. Walk over to the fridge or the sink and snap a photo. On your feet and away from the feed, you get a moment to think. Habit research shows that when your surroundings change, you're more likely to do what you actually meant to. Keep scrolling if you want, with the clock back at zero. This time it's on purpose.

Want a little more without getting up? Continue in black & white. Everything still works, it's just a lot less shiny. But only for a few more minutes, then you'll need that photo.

And ten minutes away from your apps always starts you fresh.

Nothing leaves your phone
Photos are checked on your phone and deleted straight away. There's no account and no tracking, and nothing about how you use your phone ever leaves it.

Good to know
• Stretch uses Screen Time to count minutes and show the check-in. You approve it once, during setup.
• Black & white comes from a small shortcut you add in the Shortcuts app. Setup walks you through it in about two minutes.
• Requires iOS 26.5 or later.
