This is what I'm using for my notes in biology so it needs to be reliable. I also wish the grid was darker, I have a hard time seeing it. Tried all variants (jpg, pdf, etc) and app just crash without saving. My hand actually hurts after a few minutes of stretching it across the screen. I guess I know why it's called StretchPaper now. Also, it actually deleted massive parts of what I drew from me just going out and back into the app. ### 4/5 — Good app *2021-06-15, version 1.3.6* Please add functionality to disable finger drawing. ### 2/5 — Poor zoom *2021-02-24, version 1.3.6* With the inability to lock zoom, you constantly change the zoom while attempting to use the pencil. ### 2/5 — Unintuitive and flawed user interface *2021-02-17, version 1.3.6* This seemed like a great app purchase, but unfortunately the app itself is a exercise in frustration. While an infinitely scalable sketch pad is an amazing concept— one I desperately need for my iPad Pro— this app misses the mark in several ways. First, it ditches the intuitive control and ease of the Apple Pencil for its own drawing UI and response curve. Second, the scaling is maddeningly frustrating as line thickness is impossible to keep consistent as one must invariably zoom when scrolling around the document. (A Zoom Lock feature would seem like a no brainer) What is more, settings such as line thickness and color are basically random as to whether they will stay applied one you select them. I often found myself switching without warning from a blue line to a green line and back without any logical reason. Third, the individual controls lack harmonious integration with Apple simplicity; while other apps allow for a simple tap on/tap off of individual tools, this app leaves a tools always on unless you specifically select a different tool (and even then that no guarantee the switch will take). Add to all this the lack of an easily accessible user guide, a lack of a straight edge (seriously?) and a steep learning curve I cannot in god conscience recommend this app to anyone. A frustrating waste of $3. ### 4/5 — Good app *2021-01-18, version 1.3.6* The app has great advantages to some other apps: - static grid - PDF Vektor Export Unfortunately, there are still some bugs but that is acceptable and maybe will even be fixed soon ### 3/5 — Amazing, but crashes and loses strokes *2021-01-01, version 1.3.6* It just crashed and deleted all the strokes of the file I was working on. That’s a first, but just about every time I open a file, some strokes didn’t save, making some words hard to remember what they were. No updates from the developer to fix these issues or make app improvements. I’ve loved it because it’s simple and to the point, and an infinite canvas. But I can’t afford to lose my work. ### 3/5 — Good but... *2020-11-10, version 1.3.6* There are still a few glitches that are a bit annoying but it’s useful. I didn’t get used to Concepts app workflow and the rest of the sketching apps are restricted to a size of paper. This app crashed and lost all my work. On top of that it isn’t Apple Pencil specific like everything else is on the iPad so touching the screen with skin draws likes or causes a glitch. Also that means that you need 2 finger to slide so that makes it harder. I lost days of work but that’s because I didn’t back it up via email. When I did back it up after that, when I open the Backed up email version up it doesn’t appear, with imperceptible toggled on. The best out there in my opinion, but the malfunctioning and losing work can’t be tolerated. For doodling, maybe yes. For serious work, look elsewhere unless it’s very regularly updated. ### 5/5 — Great app, great support *2019-06-20, version 1.3.6* UPDATE: Was loving this app until I ran into a nasty bug that kept crashing my files. The development crew jumped on the problem like a cat on slow mouse and released an update specifically to address it. It’s all up and running again now.
