### 5/5 — Nailed it!

*2025-05-30, version 1.10.12*

Oh my. This has quickly become my most used app. So simple, so useful.

### 5/5 — Very Impressed

*2025-05-25*

I stumbled on this app (not sure how I even found it), thought I'd try it out as a quick capture for my main note-taking app Obsidian. And I must say, I like the chat-like approach ... like Messages or WhatsApp ... I'm impressed that I can write a note and share to my Obsidian daily note or to a friend using WhatsApp (so I don't lose all my pithy messages -- joking). The app seems to be in early development and there are some nice-to-haves missing but all in all my first impression is good.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the lovely review! I’m glad to hear it works well with Obsidian.
I’ll keep improving the app, so feel free to share any ideas you have!

### 5/5 — Amazing dev and amazing app

*2025-05-21, version 1.10.12*

Updating my review to five stars because the export all function has now been implemented! It’s fantastic, super easy to use, the best app out there for this purpose. If there could be an option to export all notes to one document that would be icing on the cake (since it’s mostly short notes so having separate documents on export makes it much sense) but I think the app is definitely five stars as is. Thanks dev and well done!

### 5/5 — Finally something I always wanted

*2025-04-05*

Can you have setting for font family and size?

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-04-02, version 1.3.0*

Great app, however Text-size is very small on my macbook and external display.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2025-03-15*

I love love love this app, it’s how how I keep track of things and make quick notes while on the go

It fits into my note system perfectly

I have two requests- a calendar view, and ability to change color palette of app <3

**Developer response:** Thank you for your enthusiastic feedback!
We’re thrilled to hear that Strflow seamlessly integrates into your note-taking system.

Your suggestions are well noted — we really appreciate you taking the time to share them.

### 5/5 — Love this app so much

*2025-02-07, version 1.2.2*

I’d highly recommend this to other DID systems, as it’s helped us to remain organized in the near 2 months we’ve been using the app!

Its simplicity has been a huge relief, however my only (small) complaint is that it is not yet available on the iPad which honestly isn’t a deal breaker at all!

With that said, if you’re like us and want to keep kind reminders in a journal for rough days, this is the app for it! Not only is it simple to use, but the image quality remains high when you save something! And it’s space efficient!

If I could give you more stars I would!

### 5/5 — Exactly what I’ve been looking for

*2025-01-15*

I’ve been searching for an app that does this exact this for a while. It’s great for short notes. I use a shortcut to add thoughts and links throughout the day. The only thing I’d like to see is an #untagged filter. Thank you!

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback!
We’re so happy to hear Strflow fits your needs. An #untagged filter is a great idea — it’s on our list for future improvements.
Thanks again for using Strflow and sharing your thoughts!

### 5/5 — So obvious it’s clever

*2024-11-07*

This is the type of app I’ve subconsciously wanted but never really thought of in this way. Perfect for interstitial journaling.

### 5/5 — Simple and Easy to Use

*2024-10-31*

This is a simple and easy to use app. Nothing fancy (don’t need the bells and whistles) and reasonably priced. Would love to see how it handles large databases though. So far so good.

### 5/5 — Great Concept, Clean Execution

*2024-10-16, version 1.2.1*

I really like what you got here. This is by far the best fire and forget note taking experience I’ve found so far and it really suits my workflow.

It’s important to note that to me it feels like in terms of features this app is still in a pretty early stage, a lot of pretty obvious things are still missing, but what’s here is - for me - already worth 5 stars, just because the concept is so nice and it’s very functional and clean the way it is.

I hope the developers find a way to keep the clean look and feel while padding out some of the functionality a little more.

My #1 wish right now would be some kind of checklist/todo feature thats both easy to add to a note and easy to check off (one click).

### 5/5 — Possible Bear alternative?

### 5/5 — Great concept, great execution

*2024-07-10, version 1.0*

There's really nothing quite like Strflow. As someone who never takes elaborate/long/detailed notes, I've struggled for years to find a note-taking app that is not document-based.

Strflow fills a huge gap in the note-taking app space, imo. It takes the concept of texting oneself (or someone) to note-taking. It's amazing for jotting down quick notes and thoughts: you open the app, type, and send. Genius!

The app feels so minimalist and lightweight too; it's really a joy using it.

### 5/5 — Great so far! Can't wait for future features

*2024-07-06*

I just downloaded this a couple days ago, and it's already a perfect fit for how my brain works—it's quick, easy to use, sorts out my thoughts for me to come back to later, doesn't distract me with too many options, and the UI is clean and pretty quick to pick up on. I can't wait for the future calendar feature! And I'm putting a vote in for checkboxes and then it'll pretty much be perfect for me! The only other small thing is sometimes the tags are a little finicky to edit while typing on the iphone (like when I want to move the cursor to erase one tag, it only let's me highlight all the tags), BUT that's a very small thing honestly! Overall, I'm a fan! Thank you!

Edited to add: Omg I just tried the mac version and the keyboard shortcut was such a fantastic surprise!! So awesome! Also, it could be nice to be able to customize the icon for the phone, but again, that's a super small thing!

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for your kind feedback. I’m glad the app suits your workflow on both iPhone and Mac. Checkbox support is already available, so please feel free to try it. Your suggestions are much appreciated!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Crash upon launching

*2024-04-11*

Not sure the developer is still working on the app, but it simply doesn't work. Keep crashing upon lauching.

**Developer response:** We apologize for the inconvenience. We are unable to reproduce the issue on our end, but version 1.1.1 includes several bug fixes. Could you please upgrade and give it another try? If the issue persists, please contact us at support@strflow.app.

### 4/5 — This is a special app

*2025-09-29*

It’s chat, but notes. It’s simple yet elegant in its functionality. It feels like it has been thoughtfully optimized to remove friction from note taking experience. Everything from the way it defaults your text cursor to the entry box to how it efficiently offers you the option for a rich link with an already highlighted “Show Preview” button when you paste a link. It just feels wonderful to use the app. Really excited to see this one grow!

### 4/5 — excellent idea, but needs a few more features

*2025-07-21*

This is basically a messaging chat you can have going with just yourself. I think it makes a pretty great little home base for things you need to quickly jot down to act on and file properly later. Voice memos seems like an obvious feature it’s missing, and the Mac app is a bit bare bones. Small note, but the icon is kind of goofy and weird looking.

### 4/5 — The Perfect Upgrade from One Endless Note

*2025-06-21, version 1.1.13*

Absolutely wonderful! Fits my notetaking preferences almost perfectly. There’s only a few things missing for me. The ability to share and collaborate on a note or notes and easier organisation. The drag and drop to reorganise can be a bit finicky at times and a second layer of folders would help me organise work notes better, but other than that I can’t see me using any other note app anymore for my quick thoughts! Quick and simple to get started and pure utility in every feature.

### 4/5 — Really like it. I want markdown though.

*2024-07-10*

I really like the idea of this. Have used it a bit and like it so far. I really want it to support markdown. All my notetaking apps pretty much support markdown. Having it here would be so nice. Please 🥺?

### 4/5 — Wonderful

*2024-06-26*

Great idea for an app. It's a little sparse and feels like a 1.1, but a GOOD 1.1. What's there works fine.

### 5/5 — This app has been a fave for years!

*2026-07-19*

I’ve had this journal for about 2 years now and it has become a FIXTURE of my everyday survival! It just keeps getting better with each update! Thank you!

### 5/5 — What about adding “Replies”

*2026-06-12*

It’d be cool

### 5/5 — Big fan of this app

*2026-06-06*

I love this app. I used to use a Discord DM with a bot just to quickly save notes, links and other things that I wanted to review later. But Discord is A) not E2E encrypted; and B) has a terrible search UX, no categorization, and so on. I’ve been using this app for over a year and it’s my favorite thing for collecting those notes, links, images – whatever it is that I want to save or briefly write a note about.

### 5/5 — Great for alternative workflow

*2026-04-25*

Really liking the approach to this. Might be my new main driver. Some them customization would be great though. I use dark mode, and the colors scheme just makes everything kind of wash away into a giant text blob. At least being able to adjust the tag colorization would be helpful as the grey on black is basically invisible

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Nearly perfect app

*2025-10-07, version 1.3.7*

Great note app with great support!

### 5/5 — Great notes app

*2025-10-05, version 1.3.0*

This app is great, I like it very much and it gets better with each update. The support is very good.

### 5/5 — Great place for docu media

*2025-09-01*

Fantastic for an on the go chronological notetaking

### 5/5 — A very easy to use note memo app

*2025-08-14, version 1.3.5*

I especially like that I can quickly add a tag whenever I think of something. It's also very convenient that I can sync it between my Mac and iPhone.

### 5/5 — A diamond in the rough

*2025-07-17*

I never write reviews but I had to put one out for this because of how good it is. Extremely refreshing note taking concept that works perfectly for me! Finding decent note taking apps these days is almost impossible without premium gimmicks being shoved down your throat. This app is simple and works exactly how you would expect it to without any annoyances! Couldn’t recommend more.

### 5/5 — I simply love this app

*2025-05-31*

Probably the most intuitive, easy-to-use app for on-the-go text idea capture that I’ve encountered.

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for the kind words! I’m truly glad to hear the app feels intuitive and helpful for capturing ideas on the go.
