## What is Stride?

Stride is a habit tracker built around who you're becoming — not just what you're doing.

Most habit apps count streaks. Stride builds identity. You define your direction, set milestones, and the app coaches you through the journey — from the first uncertain days to the habits that feel automatic.

Start with your why
The journey wizard helps you articulate who you're becoming, set a horizon, and choose milestones that mark real progress. Your habits follow from that — not the other way around.

A coach in your pocket
The Insights tab thinks like a real coach. On Day 1 it tells you to show up. By Day 30 it's naming your strongest habit and pointing at what's dragging you down. By Day 90 it's suggesting the next level. It knows exactly where you are in your journey and adjusts accordingly.

Track what matters
Log yes/no habits, numeric goals (distance, minutes, glasses of water), and weekly targets like gym sessions. HealthKit integration fills in steps, exercise, and sleep automatically so you're not double-entering data you already have.

Chapters, not restarts
Life changes. When you start a new direction, Stride opens a new chapter — archiving your old habits, preserving your history, and giving you a clean run to track. Your Scorecard calendar shows your current chapter clearly while keeping all-time data one tap away.

Journal without surveillance
The daily journal runs entirely on-device. Your words never leave your phone. Apple's NaturalLanguage framework extracts mood and energy signals locally — no server ever sees your raw entries.

Streak mechanics that don't punish you
Cheat cards let you protect a streak on the day life gets in the way. Hall of Fame lets you retire a completed habit with its history intact. The system is built for real people, not perfect ones.

Privacy by design
Raw health data stays on device. Journal text is never transmitted. Coach features that use AI send only aggregated, anonymised summaries — never your personal data.

Stride is free to use. Premium AI coaching features are available with your own Anthropic API key.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2.1 (9) — 2026-06-30

Bug fixes

### 2.0.0 — 2026-06-02

Stride 2.0 is here — the biggest update since launch.

Journal Tab A daily reflection space built into Stride. Swipe through quick check-in cards (Did you feel healthy today? Was it productive?) and answer with a simple YES or NO. Rate your mood and energy. Then write freely in the reflection section. Stride connects your journal to your habits — with AI, it can spot patterns and surface which habits you're actually moving the needle on.

Home Screen Widgets See your streak and today's score without opening the app. Small and medium widgets show your overall streak, habits completed, and today's score at a glance.

A completely redesigned look Stride 2.0 is warmer, calmer, and more personal. Every screen has been rebuilt with a warm cream palette, clean card layouts, and a custom icon system. It feels like a journal, not a dashboard.

Progress tab upgrades Milestones are now split into two swipeable sections — habits In Progress and habits you haven't started a streak on yet. See exactly where you are on each habit's journey from 3-day start to 365-day legend.

Hall of Fame Completed a habit for good? Move it to the Hall of Fame instead of deleting it. Your history stays, your streak is preserved, and you can always bring it back.

Share your results Three context-specific share cards — your day score, a habit streak, or an invite for a friend. Capture and share to Instagram, X, or anywhere.

iPad support Full responsive layout across every tab. Stride now runs beautifully on iPad.

Keyboard improvements The Done bar now sits flush above the keyboard on every text input — no gaps, no layout jumps.

Plus: sticky habit navigation bar so you can jump between habits without losing your place, celebration animations on habit completion, perfect day modal when you hit 100, weekly summary every Sunday, and a comeback screen when a long streak breaks.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-05-26

A new look when you open the app
A warm, elegant loading screen replaces the old spinner — watch a climber make their way up the mountain while your data loads.
Badges, reimagined
23 aspirational badges across Journey, Dedication, and Excellence — broken into achievable steps from day 1 to day 365. A new Per Habit tab shows a personal streak ladder for every habit you track, so you always know exactly what you're working toward.
Habit completion now feels earned
Every time you complete a habit — tap YES, hit your numeric target, or press-and-hold — a burst of fireworks celebrates the moment.
Calendar gets a proper redesign
The Scorecard Calendar is now a clean month view with prev/next navigation. Day cells are color-coded in warm amber tones — the richer the color, the stronger the day.
Journal check-in flows better
After answering the last reflection card, you now see a clean summary of your responses instead of an abrupt stop. Tap "Edit answers" anytime to go back.
