## What is Stride?

Cleared to run again after ACL or meniscus surgery? Stride tells you whether that twinge means keep going or back off.

Works for any return-to-run rehab: knee, hip, hamstring, calf, Achilles, shin, foot, ankle, or back. Surgical or not. Every prompt, chart, and coaching call speaks to the area you're rehabbing.

Push too hard and you risk a setback. Hold back and you lose fitness for nothing. Stride takes the guesswork out of your comeback with an adaptive run/walk ladder, PT exercise tracking, a daily symptom journal, and an AI coach that reads your data.

CONSERVATIVE UNTIL A CLINICIAN SAYS OTHERWISE
Tell Stride whether you've been cleared to run. Until you have, it holds your plan back and won't recommend progressing your load, because "the app said I was ready" isn't a conversation you want with your surgeon. Your journal and exercises work either way.

TODAY'S SESSION, ALREADY DECIDED
Open the app and your next run is waiting: the exact intervals, the sets, and the reason behind them. A 22-step ladder carries you from short run/walk intervals through to continuous running, advancing only when your recent sessions and symptom scores say you've earned it, and easing off when they don't. Audio and haptic cues call every interval switch, so your eyes stay on the road instead of your phone.

DAILY SYMPTOM JOURNAL
Log a quick check-in each morning, after runs, and in the evening. Rate your pain, tag symptoms like swelling or stiffness, and note which areas are involved. Fifteen seconds, and it builds a real record of how your body responds to training, not how you remember it.

IT KNOWS WHAT YOU RUN ON
Treadmill, road, and trail load a healing injury differently. Stride tracks the surface behind each run, watches how your symptoms respond, and works you toward the surface you're training for, starting a first road or trail outing shorter because new ground is its own kind of load.

A WEEKLY READ ON YOUR DATA
Once a week your coach reviews the fortnight: how your symptom scores and training load moved together, which patterns are worth raising with your PT, and whether a surface is costing you. It reports what the data shows and leaves what to run next to the ladder.

PT EXERCISE TRACKING
Log the strength and mobility exercises your PT prescribed, grouped into workouts with weekly targets. See at a glance whether you're keeping up.

BUILT FOR YOUR PT, NOT INSTEAD OF THEM
Generate a report covering your check-ins, training load, exercise compliance, which ladder steps you trained at, and the surfaces you ran on. Hand it over so your next appointment starts with data instead of "it's been fine, mostly."

AUTO-IMPORT FROM APPLE HEALTH
Connect Apple Health (Garmin works too, via Health) to import runs, walks, hikes, and rides automatically. Stride spots gaps in your sync and offers to fill them.

YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
Stride is local-first: your symptom scores, notes, and training history live on your device, never uploaded to a Stride server. Export a full backup anytime and restore it on a new phone.

WHAT'S IN STRIDE PRO
The daily ladder, journal, PT exercises, and Apple Health import are free. Pro adds the AI layer, a daily read on today's session and the weekly reflection, plus PT reports, and removes ads.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.0.1 — 2026-08-31

Behind-the-scenes improvements to help us keep Stride running smoothly.

### 3.0.0 — 2026-08-29

TODAY'S SESSION, ALREADY DECIDED
Your next run is now waiting when you open the app: the exact intervals, the sets, and the reason behind them. A new 22-step ladder carries you from short run/walk intervals through to continuous running, advancing only when your recent sessions and symptom scores say you've earned it, and easing off when they don't.

STRIDE NOW KNOWS WHAT YOU RUN ON
Log the surface behind each run and Stride watches how treadmill, road, and trail affect your symptoms. When you're ready to try a harder surface it starts you shorter, because new ground is its own kind of load, and if it doesn't agree with you it holds off for the rest of the week. Set the surface you're training toward in onboarding or Settings.

A CLEARER WEEKLY COACH
The weekly review now sticks to what your data actually shows: how symptoms and training load moved together, and what's worth raising with your PT. Decisions about what to run next come from the ladder, which sees your day-to-day detail.

RICHER PT REPORTS
Reports now include which ladder steps you trained at and the surfaces you ran on.

ALSO IN THIS RELEASE
- Elevation from Apple Health feeds your weekly review, so hilly weeks read differently from flat ones
- Bike and hike sessions import from Apple Health and are tracked separately from running mileage
- Tapping a check-in reminder opens that day's check-in directly
- Post-run and evening reminder cards on the Home screen
- Stride is now supported by ads on the Journal and Progress tabs; Stride Pro removes them, alongside the AI coaching and PT reports

### 2.1.1 — 2026-08-11

Before your first run, Stride now asks you to confirm a quick health & safety disclaimer — a reminder that Stride is an educational training tool, not medical advice, and that you should check with your doctor or physio before returning to activity after an injury. Train smart out there.

### 2.1.0 — 2026-08-11

New features
- "What's New" popup — after updating, the app shows a modal of what changed, grouped by version. It never appears during onboarding, only after a real update.
- Automatic Pro restore on reinstall — subscribers who deleted/reinstalled the app or moved to a new phone previously opened the app looking unsubscribed (the anonymous RevenueCat ID died with the app container). It now silently restores entitlement on first launch, and Settings gained a "Restore Purchases" row while unsubscribed.

Bug fixes
- AI coach no longer flattens your plan on a REPEAT — a REPEAT verdict ("hold and redo this week") was overwriting the upcoming weeks with a copy of the current one; repeated REPEATs collapsed weeks 1–4 into identical weeks. REPEAT now leaves the future plan untouched.
- Week auto-advances — the home screen now moves to the next week automatically once you've completed the week's sessions, instead of requiring a manual bump.
- Workout timer no longer drifts — the countdown was drifting 6–10s behind your watch/treadmill over a session because it counted setInterval ticks as exact seconds. It now tracks real wall-clock time and self-corrects; count-up/count-down rounding was also fixed.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-08-06

NEW: Connect Apple Health (Garmin works too, via Apple Health) to automatically import your runs, walks, and hikes — no more manual logging. Stride detects gaps and offers to backfill any workouts it missed.

NEW: PT progress reports now export as a real, shareable PDF — perfect for bringing to your physical therapist.

NEW: Choose exactly how far back your PT report goes, right from the Progress tab.

IMPROVED: Knee pain scores now use the standard 0–10 clinical scale (0 = no pain, 10 = worst pain), matching what your care team already uses. Existing entries are converted automatically — no action needed.

IMPROVED: Your progress chart now shows a clean, fixed 8-week window, so a quiet week doesn't distort your recent trends.

IMPROVED: Tap into any past workout for full detail, with the option to delete it.

Bug fixes and reliability improvements, including more reliable Apple Health syncing after app restarts and fewer duplicate imports.

Thanks for using Stride on your comeback. We'd love your feedback anytime from Settings.
