It’s close, but not quite there. Some things I miss from my Striker 4 CV: -travel speed. This is a gps dependent calculation. Why not add that layer to this device output? -split map and sonar. Was fishing for yellow perch and is there a way to figure out a perch from a catfish to a bass and snakeheads? ### 3/5 — Handy, but missing basic features in the app *2025-01-09* Had this a couple years now and mostly use it for ice fishing. The device works really well, but the app leaves me wanting. I use Navionics Boating (also a Garmin app) and seriously wish that there was some integration. Short of that, the Striker Cast app desperately needs to allow downloading a base map or satellite imagery for offline use. The Striker Cast is perfect for packing into remote backcountry lakes, but even though the mapping capabilities are fantastic, there is no view of shorelines or any other reference points until I get back to cell service or wifi. An app designed to be used in the outdoors shouldn't need cell service to function. The lake I typically fish has very little coverage so I haven't been able to use my striker. ### 2/5 — Schwierigkeiten im Teilen von Daten *2025-05-26* An sich ist das Striker Cast (in der Ausführung mit GPS) Gut gelungen und leicht zu bedienen. Zumindest, wenn es um die reine Echolot-Funktion geht. Wassertiefe, Fische und Strukturen werden verlässlich erkannt, zudem wird auch die Temperatur angezeigt. Warum also der Abzug von Sternen: - die Kartierungsfunktion ist leider nicht ganz selbsterklärend, die Anleitung dazu aber sehr oberflächlich - startet man die Aufzeichnung, so muss sich das Gerät die ganze Zeit im Wasser befinden. Das bedeutet, vor dem erneuten Auswerfen oder einem Platzwechsel am Ufer muss der Aufnahmemodus gestoppt werden, da sonst Fehler in der Aufzeichnung passieren. Dieser Hinweis steht jedoch leider nicht in der Anleitung. (Bei mir wurden flache Uferbereiche dadurch bis zu 2m tief eingezeichnet. - Fehler in der Aufzeichnung lassen sich nicht korrigieren. Ein „Radiergummi“ oder ähnliches wäre hier hilfreich, um Teile der Karte, bei denen es zu Aufzeichnungsfehlern gekommen ist zu löschen. - Das Teilen der Aufzeichnungsdaten. Dies ist nur nach dem Motto „ganz oder gar nicht“ möglich. Eine Auswahl von Abschnitten, die man veröffentlichen möchte wäre ebenso hilfreich, wie die Möglichkeiten Gruppen zu bilden, mit denen die Inhalte geteilt werden, wenn man Beispielsweise gewisse Abschnitte nur mit den Mitgliedern seines Angelvereins teilen möchte. - der Wiederruf von geteilten Daten ist ebenfalls nicht möglich.
