My vault is on iCloud and I always report the hang via apple store after killing the app . Please fix it. ### 5/5 — Excellent Intergrated Powerful Secure Password Manager *2025-10-25, version 1.62.2* I used the Strongbox Password Manager (free version) for quite a while and did like it very much. Found that it worked well, was secure and was a very good way to manage all things security. Es kommen auch immer wieder kleinere Updates, die z.B. Funktionen hinzufügen, dass beim öffnen erst eine lokale kopie der datenbank geöffnet wird, damit man direkt passwörter suchen kann während im hintergrund synchronisiert wird. ### 4/5 — Great generally but latest beesiom buggy *2025-07-06* A very good app generally. Certainly a big step up from what we were using before. Migration of data was painful but that was a one off and using this is smooth now. The latest version 1.61 on both Mac & iOS will seemingly randomly crash after editing an entry, on all our devices and with different databases. You can enter a complex password, press save, and then the app crashes and you have lost your edits, including whatever the long password was. Support is very slow, only answering about half the messages and needing prompting to reply after a few days. This is not acceptable! No spyware! ### 1/5 — Worthless and unusable *2026-02-21, version 1.64.1* Waste of money if you use a yubikey, the poor design of the app prevents it from utilizing it to log you in and auto fill passwords, essentially doesn’t work as advertised. I guess money talks. ### 1/5 — Disappointing app sale and software is already ruined *2025-05-15* I started using Strongbox in 2021, and it's fair to say it's been the best password manager I've ever used. Unfortunately it's now been sold off to a third-party and the app has already added a bunch of connectivity to third-party servers: totally antithetical to the privacy-first approach the app has taken for its decade-long reign on the App Store. Unfortunately my time with Strongbox has come to an end. I'm still grateful for the last four years, but am now back looking for an alternative. ### 1/5 — Applause *2025-05-13, version 1.60.39* And today we get our first analytics! Analytics are gross, especially on a password manager. Stay far away from this product. —- Strongbox owned by Mark was 5 stars. A small developer who cared. Seriously, there wasn’t really anything else like this in its niche. Strongbox is now owned by the infamous Applause. The company has a history of ruining er, excuse me, “extracting value” at the expense of its unsuspecting customer base. I would expect to see analytics in the coming weeks or months. This is always concerning but *especially* so in a password manager. ### 1/5 — Never update since it was bought out *2025-04-29, version 1.60.36* Notice responses from new owner appear from AI and/or they ignore the review contents that have nothing to do with anything. And so it begins. My advice is never update and if it stops working, get another password manager. I paid for a lifetime subscription and feel like I was taken advantage of by the original developer who acted like selling his app was going to be great. Great for whom? Disingenuous. Now I don’t trust this app even if it was never sold. ### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY - ACQUIRED BY SCAM COMPANY *2025-04-13, version 1.60.35* This app used to be great but the developer sold it to a company that specializes in buying apps, filling them with ads and tracking, and transitioning them to a predatory subscription mode while refusing to honor previously-sold lifetime licenses. When 1PW went subscription I went out. I used KeePassXC and liked that it is free and open source. Then along came Strongbox and I haven’t looked back. I’m still working through the features and UI but Strongbox has proven to be stable and easy to use/understand. Since passwords will be with me for the rest of my life I bought the Pro version and couldn’t be happier. Все лучшее от KeePassXC + синхронизация с обычными сервисами ### 5/5 — Must have for a PW manager *2026-04-09* After a commercial auth program decided to break and sync garbage, causing me to lose all my two factor auth keys (thankfully, I had an offline device that I was able to re-key everything), I decided to use something that was open, and where I could back up the contents easily, while having cloud access. Strongbox is perfect. It is extremely well designed. I use it with a keyfile on all devices, so the KeePass database isn’t able to be brute forced, even if the cloud provider is compromised. I REALLY wish for one feature — the ability to save a database as another file, with different DB encryption credentials. This will greatly help with backups. This way, if I’m using a Yubikey for the main database, I can save backups onto secure, offline media (encrypted USB flash drive), and a simple password. This way, losing my Yubikey won’t mean the loss of the PW file. **Developer response:** Thank you for the review!
