Makes riding the bus even easier. However, app needs a phone number to confirm ticket purchase and even has a note to put 00 or +(country code) for foreign numbers. App will not accept US phone numbers. So was not able to utilize app at all. Also, app needs optimization with how much internet speed it needs. I have roaming data which allows me to use Apple maps, Google maps, Pokemon Go, and other things. But Strætó app won’t even load unless I am on wifi. ### 2/5 — Subscription failure *2019-10-21, version 5.14.0* I signed up for the subscription, which means every third month is free. Sounds like a deal, right? Except the app conveniently “forgets” or malfunctions and I have to reapply for a new subscription every months and a half. A this month’s malfunction is preventing me from using my credit card to get a useable ticket so that I can go back and forth to school. Because it requires a text to be send to set up your account, tourists will be unable to use it. Þetta forrit gefur mér sjaldnast réttar upplýsingar og það er erfitt að sjá tíma töflur ákveðna leiða. T.d var eg að leita að hvenær strætó nr 3 fari fra kringlu á hlemm. Forritið gaf mér 3 valmöguleika labba að versló og taka 16, labba að suðurveri og taka 4 eða labba á hlemm. En gaf mér ekki upplýsingar um stóra strætó skýlið norðan við kringlu. Þetta forrit er bara til skammar allt.... Every part of the app requires me to put in my number, but it won’t accept it! Mætti árið 2020 vera árið þar sem strætó einfaldar ferðalöngum og íslendingum á landsbyggðinni að nota heimasíðu og app fyrirtækisins. Við hjónin rekum lítið fjölskyldufyrirtæki og höfum oft þurft að afla okkur upplýsingar um ferðir strætó fyrir viðskiptavini okkar. Reyndin er sú að við endum alltaf à að hringja beint á skrifstofuna til að fá náknæmar upplýsingar um brottfarir, því heimasíða og app eru of flókin og seinleg í notkun. Í hvert skipti sem við hringjum höfum við gefið ábendingar um hvernig væri hægt að gera kerfið skilvirkara og notendavænna. Þetta er frekar lítil breyting en mun einfalda notkun viðskiptavina til muna. (Og létta álag á starfsmenn fyrirtækisins) Gallinn á kerfinu er sá að þegar leitað er að ferð frá tilteknum stað á landinu, þá þarf notandi að vita hvenær brottför á sér stað... og við erum sko að tala um uppá mínútu. Þannig ef mig vantar að vita hvenær strætó fer frá Höfn á morgun... þá þarf ég að velja dagsetningu OG TÍMA???? En ég veit ekki hvenær farið er frá Hornafirði og þarf því að vafra um hina ónotendavænu heimasíðu til að finna tíma á brottför og SÍÐAN get ég keypt mér miða?? Væri ekki nær að allar brottfarir frá tilteknum stað, myndu raðast upp á valinni dagsetningu.? Þar getur notandi valið þá ferð sem hentar hans skipulagi. Við íslendingar getum jú kannski fundið okkar leiðir... með krókaleiðum... en erlendir ferðamenn? Fólk er alveg steinhissa á þessu bókunarkerfi hjá strætó og skilur ekki upp né niður hvernig á að bóka á netinu? Með von um góð viðbrögð og úrbætur, kær kveðja. ### 1/5 — Can be better *2019-06-15, version 5.11.3* Almost all of the bus drivers are mean and angry and dont want to wait ### 1/5 — Important feature bugged out *2018-07-28, version 5.6* The trip planner feature does not sync with the live map feature, so I was waiting half an hour at the wrong stop with the same name as the stop that I was supposed to be at. Also while I was waiting at the wrong stop, I tried using the live map to check the schedule for that stop but it repeatedly refused to load even though my WiFi was working. If either of these weren’t the case, I wouldn’t have wasted an hour pointlessly waiting for the wrong bus. ### 1/5 — Inaccurate *2018-05-10, version 5.4* App said that bus was going to stop that it did not go to, not to be trusted. ### 1/5 — Does Not Work For Foreigners *2018-03-21, version 5.2* Despite a review to the contrary, this app does not accept 001 for US mobile/cell numbers, nor does it accept 0044 for UK numbers. The code for the US is 001 then the area code and your phone number. ### 5/5 — Algjör Snilld! *2013-07-04, version 1.2* Gott að hafa þetta á ferðinni. :) ### 3/5 — Good, but far from perfect *2018-12-16, version 5.10.2* As a tourist, this app is great, especially from getting in and out of the airport (depending on the time of your flight, as these buses don’t go all night) for far cheaper than the tourist bus lines. But there’s part of the rub: when I was here about a year ago, the one solo ticket that I bought covered all of my transfers to the airport; right now (I’m sitting on the bus right now), the driver charged me extra, over 1,000 kroners. Still cheaper than the tourist buses, but still frustrating, as nothing in the app told me about this. Other complaints: the “trip planner” and “live map” thing are both great, but there should be a way to integrate the two. If I’m in “trip planner” mode, then it should automatically show me the buses on that route. There should also be a way to show the driver my ticket without having to cancel out of “trip planner”. In short, the app needs some more seamless integration, and also to be more straightforward about extra costs to get to the airport. ### 3/5 — Works great but... *2018-05-04, version 5.4* ... Strætó can make it better to promote app adoption and ridership: - add the ability to purchase multiple tickets at the same time for one person. Having to do the same steps multiple times to get a week of rides is a pain. One adult buying tickets for multiple adults for the same ride just seems weird and it seems Strætó knows this because if more than 1 ticket is selected a “you’re buying X tickets for X people” type message pops up. O.o - add night bus ticketing - add the ability to add a non-Icelandic phone number. If this is already a thing, it didn’t work for a few different visitors I know. If it’s not a thing already, most travelers don’t bother to get a SIM with an Icelandic phone number, especially travelers from the EU since roaming isn’t a thing in the EU/EEA anymore. ### 3/5 — Great but payment system is flawed *2014-12-11, version 2.0* Every time I buy a ticket the app will not accept the credit card I used the previous time and saved, meaning I need to reenter the information every time. Otherwise I consistently get a message saying "error" which is quite frustrating when the bus has arrived and I need to show my ticket ### 2/5 — Það vantar valmöguleika fyrir farmiða fyrir öryrkja út á landsbyggðina *2022-11-03, version 5.17.2* Góðan dag. Það mætti bæta við valmöguleikanum til að geta keypt farmiða fyrir öryrkja sem hægt er að nota til að geta farið út á landsbyggðina. Það er óþarfa pappírssóun að þurfa að kaupa farmiða sem eru úr pappír. Kv. Brynjólfur.
