You should’ve left it with Windows 7 because it works really well and I’m not changing it to Windows 10 or 11. They don’t work very well. ### 1/5 — IOS FOR iPAD *2025-04-30, version 6.5* In 2023, I used Studio Tax for the first time. I had an excellent experience that I would rate 5 Stars. In 2024, I am unable to complete my taxes on my iPad. I am unable to go Full Screen. The information is so small and faint that I am unable to use the program. There was no spot on the form or the form wasn’t updated to claim the rental tax credit in BC. Not very intuitive. Certain portions of the screen are messy. Does the job and it is free though. ### 3/5 — This Year It Has Serious Usability Problems *2025-08-27, version 6.7* Normally this app, through the previous years and iterations, has had its idiosyncrasies, but most of them have been bearable. But this year, the app did two things that are breaking it for me: 1) On iPad it only works in portrait mode. I like to use the tablet with magic keyboard (landscape mode) and can’t; And, 2) To this date (late August 2025) the Create PDF is still not working, but hanging the interface. That means that I can’t create a report for my records. As an app it still does a lot of the heavy lifting and managed to file a return, and for that I am grateful. I just hope that the developer has the wherewithal to solve the bugs. ### 3/5 — Missing important features *2025-04-18, version 6.5* I have used StudioTax for a number of years on my computer, but our software was no longer supported so I had to use the app. It took some getting used to, but I was able to figure it out. I was very disappointed to learn after I had finished that there is no “Optimize” function in the app for donations or medical expenses. I spent a lot of time and two emails to tech support trying to find it, and might have chosen a different program had I known. It’s very helpful for simple tax returns. It helps give me a basic understanding of my tax returns. Sending to an accountant gives me no understanding. This is important, as the professionals don’t always ask for everything that may affect your return. For example, an expensive accounting firm did not ask for investment banking fees. ### 5/5 — Terrific App! *2025-10-25, version 6.7* I have now used this app for a number of years. Its quality and ease of use never fails to impress me. I am extremely grateful for having this service available to deal with the otherwise stressful process of dealing with the CRA. ### 5/5 — Great Program: My wife and I are helping someone out *2025-10-21* One of you competitors suggested your program StudioTax since we are filing 10 years in the volunteer program going back to 2015 up to 2025. I have a solid book keeping back ground and I was very pleased how quickly I figured out how to use the program. I emailed once for help got a quick reply. For those of you who don’t know it is suggested that you go back 10 years in the volunteer program and they have to all be submitted at once when you make the application. Time was of the essence so we have spent the last week 1/2 compiling from his records enough backup to prepare the returns. We are happy to help this person out..they lost their way but want to get back on track. It will be at least 3 years before they wrestle the debt to the ground…but they don’t want to live with constantly looking over their shoulder.
