### 4/5 — Fix the answer checking

*2026-04-08*

I wrote potable water for a states of matter quiz on the app, I got it wrong and the answer was potable water. Please fix this problem. Other than that’s it’s an amazing app

**Developer response:** Thanks for flagging this, and glad you’re enjoying the app overall.

We’ve recently updated the answer checking which should improve issues like this. You can also use the AI answer review feature to recheck answers if something looks incorrectly marked.

Appreciate you taking the time to report it, it helps us keep improving.

### 5/5 — A level physics

*2026-02-02*

Paid for the premium as the creators videos were a great help, however i feel this app isnt as good as it could be. Only small things like fonts being hard to differentiate characters or g not being stated in the question. Other than that this app is utterly amazing. The calculator is great as you dont need to type an answer out and the ai feature is somewhat useful. I just think the app needs time and work to become as good as it can be and so i wouldnt reccomend the premium at the minute (even though the one time purchase is wonderful). Also because there isnt an account system, so if i change phones i dont know if ill be able to get my premium back. I have left lots of feedback through the app which i hopefully helpful for the developers 👍

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for the detailed feedback and for supporting us with Premium, we really appreciate it. We’ll take your points on board as we keep improving the app.

Just to reassure you on Premium, it’s linked to your Apple account. As long as you’re signed in with the same Apple ID, you can tap “Restore” on the paywall and use it across devices.

### 5/5 — Good for recall

*2026-01-29*

I love the fact that the premium is a one time purchase, and the rest of the app. Would recommend

### 4/5 — Good for its intended purpose

*2026-01-28*

I didn’t download this app hoping to learn new concepts. Like your videos, it’s good to check I know everything I’ll need for my upcoming exams. In the future I hope even more content can be added because it’s currently quite limited and repetitive

### 5/5 — Really good!!

*2026-01-27*

One of very few interactive alevel physics resources would defo recommend! There could be more questions or maybe like the mind maps made on videos in photo format on the app?? But for an app that is just starting up It’s really good and I can only see it improving! Reasonable price aswell but I may wait before more features are added before I buy as right now i’m not 100% it’s worth it but if improvements keep coming I will

### 5/5 — Redmond petrie favourite app

*2025-11-17*

Redmond recommended this app and it’s really good would definitely recommend

### 5/5 — good app - i hope you’ll add alevel content too!

*2025-11-06*

i find the questions good and helpful, im actually a alevel student but i do these for fun to make sure i don’t forget the basics!

**Developer response:** Thank you for the lovely feedback. A level app coming in early 2026 🚀

### 5/5 — Could have variations

*2025-11-03*

Questions are always the same, could add some variations rather than having the same set exam questions in the same order, but that all that concerns me

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — You have to pay

*2026-06-14*

Paper 1 is free and all but paper 2 is NOT free at all you have to pay £4.99 and honestly that’s not right because why is education pay to win . Especially since most people download this app last
Minute to revise for paper 2. Only get it if you only want to study paper 1 for all sciences

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. We understand not everyone wants to pay for revision resources, but we're not government funded and the app couldn't exist without support from users. Creating the app and content has cost tens of thousands of pounds and hundreds of hours of work. We've also chosen a one off lifetime purchase rather than a subscription to keep costs down.

### 1/5 — Not loading

*2026-05-03*

Since changing to study shorts, videos won’t load.. big issue right before GCSEs

**Developer response:** Sorry you’re having this issue, especially this close to exams.

The videos are hosted via YouTube, so it’s worth checking that YouTube is accessible on your device/network. If the problem continues, please get in touch with us at hello@maderesponsively.com and we’ll help resolve it as quickly as possible.

Thanks for flagging it.

### 1/5 — most is locked!!!!

*2026-03-09*

very annoying, cannot access any of paper 2 content which is supposed to be the “hardest” content, false advertisement as who wants to pay 7.99 for that!

**Developer response:** We understand this can be frustrating, and thanks for the feedback.

Some content in the app is free, and some is paid to support the cost of creating and maintaining the course material and the app itself. We aim to keep pricing as fair as possible while continuing to add and improve content. We’ve also recently lowered the price of the science quizzes to make them more accessible.

We appreciate you giving it a try.

### 2/5 — Overly harsh, de-motivating, unhelpful feedback ruins the experience of what could be great

*2026-06-02*

It's good to have all these practice questions, but it's quite harsh when you get questions wrong "you failed to do x" "you should know y by now" and IF you pay the £10 to get feedback access (permanently) the feedback doesn't always tell you what the answer is or how the question was wrong - more like "you need to learn about the topic z".

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback, and we're sorry you've had a disappointing experience. We take comments like this seriously and will be reviewing both the tone and usefulness of our feedback responses. We believe there's room for improvement and are actively looking into it. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.

### 2/5 — Loading

*2026-04-05*

I trust this is a good app and it
Looks really good however it is stuck on downloading quizzes and will not budge, it’s been hours. I cannot use the app and it’s quite sad as it seemed hopeful. Please fix this

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback, and sorry you’ve had this issue.

This sounds like a loading problem we’d like to look into properly. Please get in touch with us at hello@maderesponsively.com and we’ll help resolve it as quickly as possible.

Appreciate you flagging it.

### 2/5 — Disappointed.

*2026-01-23*

As an A‑level student studying Chemistry, Physics, Maths, and Further Maths, I wanted to give a realistic review so people know the type of user this is coming from someone who cares about accuracy, proper spec coverage, and good exam preparation.
First of all, this isn’t the app for people who like to follow the spec to the letter. I tried an OCR A Level Chemistry quiz (the Alkenes, Alcohols and Core Mechanisms one), and the very first question asked about testing for aldehydes using Fehling’s solution.
My school only teaches ammoniacal silver nitrate for that test. Yes, both are on the spec, but most schools teach one or the other. So for a multiple‑choice question, it would’ve been much better to list all valid reagents covered in the spec (e.g. ammoniacal silver nitrate / Fehling’s solution) to avoid confusing students based on what was taught at school.
Secondly, that same quiz asked about steps in the hydration mechanism of alkenes to alcohols, a mechanism EXPLICITLY stated in the OCR spec as not required. We only need to know conditions and reagents, not the full mechanism. This makes the quiz feel sloppy from a spec‑accuracy standpoint.
Thirdly, the quizzes themselves are extremely simple. They’re mostly multiple‑choice, with the occasional number or single word you need to type in. It would’ve been far more useful (and worth paying for) if the app used:
• proper exam‑style questions
• or questions reworded from actual past papers
• typed, free‑response answers
• AI marking based on real mark schemes
• detailed feedback on where marks were lost
Right now, it’s just a collection of very basic MCQs. And then they expect you to pay £9.99 to unlock even more simple multiple-choice questions for the more advanced modules. Considering how new and unfinished the app feels, that price does not match the value.
I get that the app is new, and it could become worth paying for in the future, but only if they pay more attention to detail and implement features that actually help students revise in a meaningful way. They should have refined more of the app before releasing it, instead of putting out something that feels half‑built.
To put it in a saying:
“They planted the seed but forgot to tend the soil. Now they’re surprised the fruit isn’t ready.”
(Meaning: they should’ve spent more time and effort completing and polishing the app before releasing it when it’s barely finished.) I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because there are no ads and because I like the aesthetic and ability to customise fonts and theme. I hope they take my feedback on board and I hope this review will be useful to people :)

### 3/5 — Missing content

*2026-03-01*

The app is really useful and will be using it to revise however I noticed with the ocr a level section there is no Astrophysics and Cosmology can this be included please.

### 3/5 — Basic Knowledge Recall

*2025-11-03*

It’s pretty simple for now. It’s relatively new so hopefully there’ll be more features in the future. There are other resources that are better than this app.

**Developer response:** Check out the new AI feedback feature that give you tips on how to improve! We have lots of ideas brewing, but we'd love to hear yours via the feedback button in the app

### 4/5 — Very good quiz app…

*2026-05-27*

I have been using this app for A-Level Physics and I very much like the layout and how an ai can double check if your answer was correct, however I have a problem with alot of my calculation answers being incredibly small/large e.g. 1.6x10^-19, the app has no way of inputting x10^, so I find myself having to painstakingly input every digit.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback and for highlighting this. We agree that entering answers in standard form could be improved. We're looking at ways to make scientific notation and very large or small numbers easier to input in a future update. We're glad you're enjoying the app overall and appreciate the suggestion.

### 4/5 — This app is fantastic but...

*2026-05-20*

Would likely be 5 stars but I like to use this on my iPad and obviously they do not have actual support for it as it just shows up as a little window I'm assuming because it has only be made for an iPhone. It would be great if you guys could make it so I can use it on iPad.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. You're absolutely right, the app is currently designed for iPhone and doesn't yet have a dedicated iPad layout. iPad support is something we'd like to improve in the future, and feedback like this helps us prioritise those improvements. Thanks for taking the time to let us know.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I was wrong

*2026-06-17*

The app is pretty good it did help with my science’s even tho I thought I was paying for both a-level and GCSE’s I guess that would mean the price would be a lot higher so I’m pretty satisfied with the app I would 100% recommend

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. GCSE and A Level are separate courses with different content, quizzes and videos, each requiring hundreds of hours of work to create and maintain. Combining them into a single purchase would mean charging everyone more. We've chosen one off lifetime purchases instead of subscriptions to keep costs as low and fair as possible.

### 5/5 — Really great and reliable

*2026-06-08*

Helped immensely with my revison. Don’t know what I would do with the goat science shorts! He deserves much more recognition. Great app!

### 5/5 — !

*2026-06-08*

Study shorts is actually a fantastic app like I actually learned stuff and it really helped me in my exam because one of the questions that were on the quiz was on my exam an I remembered how to answer it because I did it on the the quiz so yeah anyways definitely recommend!

### 5/5 — W app for science

*2026-06-08*

U just have to watch the videos, take notes, do the questions repeat

### 5/5 — Unfair app

*2026-06-07*

You can sit and revise all of paper 1 topics for free but it’s already been done so it’s pointless, paper 2 is soon but they’re trying to charge you to do the quiz’s?? Like I understand you need to make money but it isn’t exactly fair on students with no money of their own trying to get a good grade for science.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. We believe the price is fair for the hundreds of hours spent creating the app, quizzes, videos and revision materials. We've worked hard to keep the cost low, and access is a one off lifetime purchase rather than an ongoing subscription. The videos remain free, but to keep the app available and sustainable there has to be a cost for some content.

### 5/5 — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Best revision app⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

*2026-05-19*

Definitely the best revision app I’ve used. And guess what: NO annoying subscription!!! Just ~£9 ONE TIME purchase FOR LIFE 10/10 brilliant chap. Makes me want to donate. Everything I need for A level Physics 👍

### 5/5 — Really really helpful.

*2026-03-24*

This app is actually very helpful and is helping me throughout my courses affectively.

However, it would be nice if when more questions are added it shows what was content was actually added.

Epic app tho

### 5/5 — very helpful!!

*2026-03-18*

I have bought the premium version and I personally think it’s actually really helpful, it provides actually useful feedback helping me to revise. Would recommend!

### 5/5 — Underrated ASF

*2026-03-11*

honestly i didn’t have high hopes as there were so little reviews and i payed for premium ( i think it was around a onetime payment of £7) and now with so much unlocked it’s perfect for recall before doing a past paper, and just on the way to school. thanks for this app 🫰

### 5/5 — Paid behind premium

*2026-03-01*

This app is locked behind premium, as someone who is sitting unit 2, this app is quite literally useless due to me not needing to resit. It is very limiting since my exams are 2-3 months away. Other than that, the app is really good! I’ve recommended this to my friends. I love how simple it is to use the app, it’s just so annoying knowing the part I need is reserved for people who can afford the subscription on top of other things.
