## What is Study Sprint Timer?

Study Sprint Timer is an offline focus timer for students who want to start studying and actually keep going. A small scholarly owl keeps you company: study daily and it thrives, skip a day and it misses you.

You open it and start with one tap. Pick a 20 or 40 minute sprint, or set a length of your own. When you cannot tell how long the library day will run, switch to Free Study: an open-ended stopwatch that counts toward your streak and picks up where it left off even after a force quit. The timer sits on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, with pause and finish buttons right there. The Apple Watch app has a timer of its own.

If you came here to read, say so during setup and the app reshapes itself around it: your current book on the home screen, pages instead of coursework. You start a session with a book and, if you want, a page goal, and the summary tells you how far you got. It measures your own pace to estimate how much reading time the book has left. Set a yearly book goal in Settings and watch your library fill up.

Every day you study fills one square of the year heatmap. Your weekly chart, personal records and most productive hours live on the stats screen, and the calendar view follows your streak day by day. You can export your whole history as CSV, and write finished sessions to Apple Health as mindful minutes.

You decide how it looks. There are 26 light and dark themes, and you can preview each one across the whole app before committing; the app icon changes colour along with the theme. You name the categories yourself: maths, English, software, whatever you happen to be studying. Snooze-able smart alarms and motivation reminders are there too.

It was built with high school and university students, self-learners and bootcamp students in mind. It works just as well if you are preparing for exams like YKS, LGS, KPSS or IELTS, or if you are a remote worker who likes the pomodoro rhythm.

You do not need an account. There is no server behind the app and no analytics SDK inside it, so what you study stays on your phone.

Premium is optional. It removes ads for good, unlocks every theme, and keeps an independent developer going.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.1 — 2026-08-24

A few screens got easier to live with.

• Adding an exam? Pick it from the list. SAT, ACT, GRE and the rest show up with a sensible date already filled in
• Tap an exam to open its own page: the hours you've put into it and a 30-day chart
• The weekly goal screen now says what your target means per day, and the ring tracks your real week
• The streak calendar is more compact, so a month fits without scrolling
• End-of-session and break notifications stopped sounding like a receipt
• In Europe you now get a proper ads consent screen, and you can change your answer later from Settings, under Legal

### 1.4 — 2026-08-19

Study Sprint can now be your reading app.

• Tell the setup you're here to read more books and the whole app follows: your current book on the home screen, pages instead of study jargon
• Start a session with a book and an optional page goal; the summary shows how far you got
• The home screen estimates how much reading time your book has left, based on your own pace
• Set a yearly book goal in Settings and watch it fill up in your library
• Reminders speak reader now: a few pages with your coffee, not homework drills
• Focus Shield works while reading too, if Instagram keeps calling
• Portuguese is in, and two reminders a day is the ceiling now: a quote and an evening nudge no longer pile up

Also fixed: a session no longer ends itself if the app is killed mid-run, the summary screen fits smaller phones, locked shop items open the paywall instead of swallowing your tap, deleting a category asks first, and the number pad finally has a Done button.

Also in this build: the exam screen was rebuilt with ready-made exam chips, you can filter Study Tips by topic, missing book covers load again, and your premium status no longer shows up wrong.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-12

Focus Shield keeps the distractions shut.

• Focus Shield: pick the apps that pull you away and they stay closed while a session runs. You choose them, you can switch it off whenever you want, and the list never leaves your phone
• Siri speaks your language now. The voice commands for starting a sprint work in Turkish, German, Spanish, French and Russian, not just English

Fixed: locked items in Baykuş's room open the Shop instead of ignoring your tap. The effect preview in Appearance shows what the home screen actually does. The exam countdown sheet keeps its title centered. The privacy text in Settings describes exactly what the app stores.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-08-05

Setting the app up now takes about a minute.

• New setup flow: say why you're studying and the app suggests your subjects, a daily goal and an exam countdown
• Appearance studio: theme, timer dial and effect on one screen, with a live preview. Nothing changes until you tap Done
• A new app icon, and the app now opens in Turquoise
• Your theme can follow the device between light and dark and keeps the color you picked
• Settings has a search field, plus shortcuts to the rows you open most
• Your library is one tap away from the home screen
• A study tip once a day, from a pool of 36. You can turn it off
• The session summary shows a record badge when you actually beat one
• Today's plan carries over at midnight; progress starts fresh
• The upgrade screen shows what you get before it shows a price

The free-study timer no longer loses count, and focus sounds keep playing after you leave the app. The ring in free study fills over ten minutes now instead of racing around once a minute.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-29

Your books and your plan, in the same timer.

• Library: add the books you're reading, covers and page counts fill in for you
• Log pages read or questions solved when a session ends, with daily averages in Statistics
• Link a session to an exam and see how many hours went into it
• Plan for today: set how many sprints you want per subject
• Send finished sessions to a separate "Study Sprint" calendar in Apple Calendar
• Rebuilt home screen and a new session setup sheet
