### 3/5 — Works well after reinstalling

*2023-03-17*

Since the update and a reinstall it finally works.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2017-06-01*

When you subscribe for a magazine, it is probably because there is one or few more things that you truly like about it. Something unique. Well, i liked stuff top 10's and i always used it for reference whenever comparing gadgets. However, stuff suddenly decided to remove consoles top ten's and drones top 10's!!! That totally blew it off for me and i regret subscribing already! In addition to the above, they no more have interesting reviews. They no more give scores. It is hard for me to understand/justify why would any gadget guy/girl subscribe for this!!

### 1/5 — ChickyP

*2017-02-26, version 24*

Do not waste your money subscribing to the digital version of the magazine.

This used to be a great app and worth subscribing, but since it was redone or taken over is is absolute rubbish.

Not even an app, just a picture of the magazine. A leading tech magazine should not have this representing them out there! AWFUL!!!

### 1/5 — Doesn't work.

*2017-02-02, version 24*

Simply puy, it does,t work. Pretty shameful for a tech magazine

### 1/5 — Announcement required

*2016-10-28, version 23.6.4*

Please make sure you make an announcement when you launch your new interactive magazine and I'll start buying it again. Until then you aren't getting another penny from me. No way am I paying £3.99 for a PDF!

### 1/5 — Why can't I get my magazines - I've paid for them

*2016-10-07, version 23.6.4*

I haven't had time to read the magazine for a few months due to other commitments and when I try, I can't read the either the ones I haven't read, or the issues before June 2016, which I have also paid for. Why is June 2016 the only issue I can access? What is happening here. This is a rip-off and a disgrace.

### 1/5 — Now a joke

*2016-08-06, version 23.6.4*

I've been using this application for years and now it's no longer a digital version, but a scanned in copy.
Can we have the old interactive version back please?
I've stopped my subscription until it's sorted.
Unfortunately I'm not allowed to give it 0 starts so I've reluctantly given it a star.

### 1/5 — Does anyone from Stuff read these reviews??

*2016-07-20*

It seems unlikely as there is no comment from them about how awful the latest update is felt to be by literally everybody.
It is no longer interactive in any way, despite still stating that it is in the description. It is like they have just scanned in the magazine pages, and is impossible to read without zooming in on the section of page you are reading.
Quite apart from this it seems to "forget" that you have paid a subscription and tries to charge you again. When I tried to contact Stuff to find out why they said they no longer deal with the iPad version and told me I had to contact a 3rd party. Was a real pain to sort out.
Unfortunately, I have prepaid for 12 months, but I wouldn't consider renewing unless it went back to its previous interactive format.

### 1/5 — Beware

*2016-06-14, version 23.6.4*

I have just been ripped off. Paid £3.99 ( even though I subscribe) for the July edition which the app now won't let ne read. Appalling

### 1/5 — Truly Appalling

*2016-06-11*

Whilst the quality of the articles is perhaps starting to decline Stuff remains better than the likes of T3 for content in my view. The app itself is truly woeful though. How a publication that rates the apps others produce can peddle this out is beyond me. It actually makes me question the opinion it proffers on each page. Layout, navigation, functionality all dire. I find myself having to delete the app and reinstall to get the latest issue - I effectively notice the latest copy on the shelf in a store which reminds me to reinstall the app so I can read it on my iPad!!! Shoddy.

### 1/5 — What have you done???

*2016-06-10, version 23.6.4*

What used to be a brilliant interactive mag has been sent back to stone ages. The newest edition just a low quality PDF scan. Amazing considering this is supposed to be a tech mag... What a shame.

### 1/5 — Woeful Update. Do not subscribe

*2016-06-07, version 23.6.4*

Loyal subscriber and since this update I have no access to my back catalogue. All interaction has been removed. Only access to a low quality PDF scan of the current issue. Appalling app for what is generally a very good tech mag. Might be time to head to T3!

### 1/5 — Awful!

*2016-06-06, version 23.6.4*

It looks like they've released a beta version, because this surely can't be the real app? No functionality. Horrible! Can't believe this is a Gadget/Tech Magazine! Will be cancelling unless sorted.

### 1/5 — Goodbye Stuff

*2016-06-03, version 23.6.4*

This is my second review since the original app was launched and sad to say it's another 1 star (if only I could give it a zero)

Not a good thing to say about this app. I'll be cancelling my subscription.

### 1/5 — Dreadful update

*2016-06-02, version 23.6.4*

I just got my monthly email saying that as a subscriber I can download the latest issue. The app wants me to pay £3.99 for the privilege to do so. So no point in subscribing if I have to pay twice!

Since the update I lost access to all the issues I paid for over a good few years and now I can't download new ones either, so it now has ZERO functional use!

So I have to waste my time complaining to sort it out. Woeful app and service all Al around.

### 2/5 — New update?

*2016-05-14*

I'm not really sure what they did, but this app is now terrible. Everything is too small and different parts of each page have to be zoomed in and out to be able to read it. It's like they were tired of making two versions—print edition and tablet edition—and just made the print version digital. No more scrolling up and down. No more tablet manipulation. Just flipping page by page just like print. Ruins the whole experience of being digital. Links also don't work. Lame.

### 1/5 — Cheap online mag

*2016-05-11, version 23.6.4*

Have subscribed for a coupe of years but have cancelled my subscription as Stuff has made their former interactive magazine into a PDF…not worth the screen it is read on. Plus access to former issues is tedious…a big disappointment…good by Stuff…you really have stuffed it with this cheap change.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Constant app crashes

*2020-07-26*

Took out a years subscription with one month free trial. Unfortunately I have not been able to read any issues as the app crashes as soon as I try to open an issue. Cancelled subscription again. Shame

### 1/5 — Had to keep re-downloading

*2018-11-29*

Hope this update fixes that but not willing to pay to find out

### 1/5 — Shameful

*2018-10-17, version 25.0.1*

For a tech magazine, the implementation of this magazine is appalling - crashing and currently only showing August edition in Oct.

### 1/5 — The update is terrible

*2018-10-12*

With the update you have managed to take my favourite magazine and completely stuff it up to the point of me now deleting the app altogether

**Developer response:** Hi Punterr. Our apologies for the issues you have had. We have recently updated the app - if you're still encountering any problems at all please contact us at info@pocketmags.com and we will help to resolve them.

### 1/5 — Really bad app for a tech magazine

*2018-08-25, version 25.0.1*

Hard to download your purchases (I generally just give up).
No help from customer service
AVOID

### 1/5 — Zero star

*2018-08-20, version 25.0.1*

Using this app makes you wish that there was a way to give a zero star

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your money!

*2018-08-13, version 25.0.1*

This used to be a great app, but has many others have opined, it sure as hell ain’t now. Most of the time it freezes altogether and on the rare occasion it works I feel rushed to read the content in case it stops working again. I’m cancelling my subscription, don’t even start yours. Shame, as I like the magazine.

### 1/5 — Lost my purchases!

*2018-07-08, version 25.0.0*

I too have lost all purchasers. The app just hangs. What is going on, how can you have app that has my paid for magazines?

### 1/5 — Crashes and won’t restore purchases

*2018-07-06, version 25.0.0*

Have reinstalled. Still not working.
Old app was fine

### 1/5 — How do I get back to my subscription

*2018-07-05, version 25.0.0*

This app is truly appalling, especially when they tell you to restore purchases when you log on to the latest version. Unfortunately it can’t find your existing credentials to actually do that! Who can I contact to sort this out?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great

*2021-02-28*

Useful awesome

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2018-10-26, version 25.0.1*

I have had this app for over 4 years , never had a problem , it works find and dandy ! On my iPhone , IPad Pro , I love the app and they guys and girls who take the time to write a detailed reviews are excellent at their jobs 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

### 5/5 — Shocking update !!!

*2016-06-02*

Can't believe this is supposed to be a gadget magazine looking to future. This update has taken things back to the 90s. Stuff used to be interactive & could move around page and just, interact !! Now just a scanned page. Don't even get me started on past issues!! Same thing has happened with my Auto Express magazine. It seems this is a Pixelmags retrograde step. Well you've lost my money now suckers !!

### 5/5 — Very well done

*2015-06-13, version 3.2.2*

A great newsstand version of the mag, with the current month free to try. Also the back catalog being available at £0.79 is a great bonus.

It was enough to get me to subscribe.

### 5/5 — Happy Christmas!

*2014-12-09, version 3.2.2*

Glad to see the update has fixed the issue. Enjoying the Christmas gift guide, and it's free. Thank-you

### 5/5 — Stuff is Stuffed (Update..now Unstuffed again)

*2014-12-07, version 3.2.2*

Hopeless at the moment, ain't working at all with the latest IOS version, been trying to download the Xmas special, thought the problem was at my end...not so...the App is busted.

Update: Finally they've got it sorted!

Now back to normal.

Downside...you have to update the App in an open field under the flinty pale light of a full moon to make it work....

Just kidding....

### 5/5 — Bug

*2014-02-26*

I can read only one issue on my iphone, to read another, i need to reinstall th aplication again. Iphone 5s
There is no button to leave the issue
SOS

### 5/5 — Fix for everyone's recent issues! ( Please read )

*2013-09-06*

I've loved this magazine and app for a while now, but then with the latest update it all went wrong.

All my previous downloads disappeared and I couldn't get any more issues. Just like a lot of the reviews for this release.

However, today I rang Stuff's digital support team and they helped me fix everything.

Turns out its really very simple. I, like a lot of people, had recently turned off 'In-App' purchases after reading all the horror stories of massive iTunes bills. To fix you App simply allow 'In-App' purchases again, load the App and you will be asked for your iTunes password. After a few minutes your magazines will appear again. If this doesn't work, use the restore purchases option and wait. Took me a few goes round doing this, possibly I was just impatient!

Only downside is that all the previous downloads I had have gone, but that's probably because I had deleted and reinstalled the App when trying to fix it.

Hope this helps people.

### 5/5 — Super!!

*2013-01-25*

Contrairement à beaucoup de magazines, le format est superbement adapté à l'iPad.

### 5/5 — Very clever app

*2013-01-07*

After getting an iPad for Christmas I wanted to download some apps. Then stuff sent me an email with a free best of 2012. I loved it. But this was the best of, I wasn't too sure if a normal issue would live up to it. Then, stuff sent me a push saying January issue was free as a New Years present - bit eager I thought, but free again why not.

Once again a good read, perhaps stuff some how see this, realise I need one further push to subscribe and give me another free feb issue? Go on, I promise I'll subscribe after!
