### 4/5 — Love it! But has some issues

*2026-07-13, version 0.20*

Absolutely love the app I was diagnosed with gastroparesis about 5 years ago now and have used the app ever since. My boyfriend was just diagnosed with something a few days ago and it’s always been difficult to fill out the survey because I have to press on my phone a billion times to get the text bar to pop up and then 2 seconds later it goes away and won’t let my type. I’m in desperate measures to learn more about this new condition I’ve never heard of. If you guys could fix this issue it would be GREAT and help tremendously.

### 3/5 — Not sure how to add a treatment

*2026-05-27, version 0.20*

I want to add a new treatment but I can’t find how and I don’t want to go through 66 or so questions if it’s in the edit part.

### 2/5 — Glitching

*2026-02-23, version 0.20*

The survey pages are not working. I cannot participate in the survey as it keeps erasing my answers and making me start over. Very frustrating.

### 3/5 — Bugs are frustrating

*2025-11-01, version 0.20*

I’ve overall have likes the app. Just the survey function absolutely doesn’t work. It doesn’t allow you to type in answers so I feel like I’ve been unable to contribute.

### 3/5 — Facebook

*2025-06-21, version 0.20*

I’m sure it works well but don’t bother downloading unless you have a facebook account

### 3/5 — Trouble with the application

*2024-10-29, version 0.20*

Hi I just wanted to let someone know that I am having so much trouble replying to someone’s post, is there an update for this application that will fix this issue? Thank you, other than that I do love this application.

### 3/5 — No cures

*2023-12-12, version 0.20*

I joined this group hoping that I would learn what treatments are offered. Let me know if there is a eureka moment of discovery.

### 4/5 — Great site and wonderful support.

*2023-09-12, version 0.20*

Wonderful

### 4/5 — Good

*2023-05-17, version 0.17*

**UPDATE 5/17** I’ve gotten to where I use the website/desktop version for what I feel are time-consuming tasks and the mobile version for quick things like short replies/comments/posts and checking messages, or just browsing. The website version is organized better for me, and I finally learned what the react emojis mean! Previous review still stands.
I’d like to add to the wishlist-
•delete DMs/private messages;
•author of Discussion post can pin comments
•author’s comments stand out in some way like a different color or have a microphone next to their username
•flagging comments and posts gives reporting options or just a text box that users can type out why they’re reporting the comment/post/user profile
•clarification on what it means if a user joined a ‘group’ and is interacting in the Discussions but doesn’t share any common diagnoses. some people hide their report but can post or they leave out a diagnosis or pretend to have one and give false advice. perhaps add a section for those who suspect they have the diagnosis but haven’t been officially diagnosed and those who have been diagnosed can respond to their questions and concerns. otherwise, if you don’t add the diagnosis, then you can’t post about it? or posts/comments get flagged as “This user hasn’t added this diagnosis/symptom/treatment/etc. to their health report” just to combat false claims and scams
•add users as Friends
•Mutuals/Friends tab of their posts, comments, etc. separate from the Homefeed

I’ve been liking it so far. However, it could use some UI improvements and add a tutorial guide for new users and a refresher for current members. I keep seeing different react emojis for others’ posts and comments and I don’t know what they are, what they mean, and how they’re meant to be used.
• When creating a question, the answer style choices are limited. In addition to the “Yes/No” and “Scale 1 to 5,” it would be good to have ‘Not Sure’ separate from ‘Other’ and maybe include ‘N/A’; have multiple choice answer; a choose one out of four or five answers; and each option welcomes customization - maybe someone wants to use the “Yes/No” as a “Day/Night” or “Morning/Evening”.
• I also would like the option to choose which emails are sent to me, including an option to unsubscribe from all emails except account-related ones.
• The web/desktop version is good but could use some bug fixes and UI improvements as well. I actually find it easier to fill out the surveys on the web/desktop version instead of the mobile app.

### 4/5 — Pretty good

*2023-04-13, version 0.17*

The app seems pretty good! The only issues I've noticed is the UI can be somewhat confusing to figure out. Also, why can you not leave a community once you've joined it? It would be really helpful if you could do that

### 4/5 — Excellent app, tiny adjustments needed

*2023-02-26, version 0.16*

I’ve been waiting for an app like this for years!
I am so happy this is finally available.

Only issues I have are that the data needs to be sorted better - some conditions will have the same treatment listed multiple times but under slightly different names.

Also there needs to be somewhere in the app to show your questions and discussions that you have posted and not only be notified via email. The email link doesn’t work in all browsers (brave doesn’t work but Firefox does) and in the app I have a lot of trouble finding my posts again. But sometimes when I do it doesn’t recognise I am the person who posted it and I have to answer my own question to access the info about it

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Broken

*2026-03-06, version 0.20*

Just downloaded it and can’t fill out survey. It glitches.

### 1/5 — Fix the bugs

*2026-02-13, version 0.20*

I’ve been trying to add some newer diagnosis and that survey page keeps bugging and won’t let me type. Very frustrating

### 1/5 — One million email lists

*2025-01-31, version 0.20*

Even if you delete your account, they’ve added you to tons of email lists and you will continue to keep getting notifications forever. Sending an email to support goes in loops because the addresses aren’t monitored. Evil nonsense.

### 1/5 — It use to be inclusive

*2024-09-25, version 0.20*

I liked being around those with AA so I don’t burden others.
I eventually was unable to access the feature where you add symptoms and support wasn’t responding, so I took it as a hint to leave.

### 1/5 — Too young to have issues????

*2024-01-23, version 0.20*

Whenever I put in my age it says I’m too young to open an account. Why does the app not let young people get the help they need without parental consent?

### 1/5 — Isn’t working

*2023-06-19, version 0.18*

The app isn’t sending me a verification code even despite deleting it and redownloading it.

### 1/5 — Can’t login first time using it

*2023-05-07, version 0.17*

I already have an account with Stuff That Works and can’t log in with the app. It requires me to creat an account, but won’t let me use my existing account info. I have no desire to create a second account and redo all my info. Very annoying. It might b a good app, but I won’t know that unless login changes.

### 1/5 — I can’t even create an account

*2022-09-30, version 0.10*

I get to the page that says something like “wether you are new or returning, get started by putting in your phone number” except every time I put in my phone number I get a loading icon for a minute before I get the error message “please try again later.” I’ve tried multiple times over the past day, and am still getting this error message.

### 1/5 — Please help⚠️⚠️⚠️

*2022-09-19, version 0.10*

### 1/5 — Can’t get it to work

*2022-06-08, version 0.8*

I can’t get it to log into my account that I already created on the computer

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

*2026-01-10, version 0.20*

I am so impressed by this app and its ease of use, the collaborative nature, and the daily symptom tracker.

### 5/5 — Sharing

*2024-02-24, version 0.20*

Its good to share with others about evans so we can help others understand how and what is going on with the rare disease

### 5/5 — An awesome app with awesome communities of people with conditions

*2023-12-24, version 0.20*

I’m loving StuffThatWorks so much. I’ve met a lot of people who share my diagnosis and it’s so comforting to know that at last there’s people with my symptoms and conditions. I’d highly recommend this crazy awesome app to literally everyone. If you don’t have an iPhone you can access StuffThatWorks on the website. I couldn’t recommend this enough. The community is so supportive. Even when you’re having a bad pain day or a bad mental health day, you’ll find people who can relate. Awesome app, 5 stars easily without a doubt.

### 5/5 — I want emails again!

*2023-10-21, version 0.20*

I like everything about it except I stopped receiving emails. I believe I accidentally marked it as junk and can’t figure out how to start back receiving emails!

### 5/5 — Great illness oversight and support network

*2023-08-26*

This website engages people with the actual disease for Small Fibre Neuropathy or Guillain Barre Syndrome. The core of the web programme is based on patients treatments and there symptoms against evidence based medicine. This programme really helps you connect with your peers. Tremendous easy designed website. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — HNPP

*2023-06-11, version 0.18*

Great resource and support group!

### 5/5 — Stuff That Works

*2023-04-29, version 0.17*

I like this forum because I can communicate with others how I’m coping with the different conditions that I have, and get other peoples feedback on how they’re coping with theirs.

### 5/5 — Site helps identify all symptoms

*2023-03-11, version 0.16*

I was able to determine what my outlook was going to be. And any other thing I am worried about.

### 5/5 — I try and review apps every 3 months

*2022-09-22, version 0.10*

And this one is my FAVORITE! They come up with the best, most user friendly updates and listen to user feedback. There is even an option that lets you track your symptoms which is super helpful!

### 5/5 — Highly Recommend

*2022-09-22, version 0.10*

This app has been very very very helpful for me, especially recently, as I’ve had to navigate a flare up of a new combo of symptoms that I didn’t know how to treat. Reading the posts in the community & the data insights related to my specific conditions [and associated symptoms] helped me find some really effective ways to treat my flare. Also, knowing that there’s a community of people who understand what it’s like to live with my specific conditions out there is one of the best feelings — they just get it! And it’s easily accessible! All I need is my phone or computer. I definitely recommend checking this app out. It can really help your physical & mental health, which is so crucial.
