## What is Stumbletown?

Leave your messages or photos where they were created, for others to find.

Look around before you sign up; browse what's nearby the moment you open the app, no account required. Create one only when you're ready to leave your own mark.

Posts are only visible within 25 meters, so what you find is always tied to exactly where you're standing, proof that someone stood right where you are. Don't see anything yet? No one's left a post at your spot; be the first.

You can even post old photos; Stumbletown shows when they were originally taken, so people can see what the same spot looked like years ago, right where they're standing now.

Follow people you know, or find friends already on Stumbletown by matching your contacts, entirely opt-in, and your contacts never leave your device in readable form. Get notified the moment you walk within range of something a friend left behind.

Add context to what you share in the moment, tag a post with the venue you're at, current weather, air quality, golden hour, or moon phase, all optional, all off by default.

Block and report are built in, so you're always in control of who and what you see nearby.

Stumbletown isn't about who has the most followers; it's about what's actually here, right now, where you are.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.5 — 2026-08-30

You can now browse Stumbletown without creating an account — see what's nearby the moment you open the app, and sign up only when you're ready to leave your own post.

Also in this update:

Fixed photo uploads that could fail on larger images
Smoother pinch-to-zoom on photos
More accurate post locations
Improved contacts permission handling in Find Friends
Various bug fixes and polish

### 1.0.4 — 2026-08-24

Renamed the "Post" button on the main feed to "New Post" to avoid confusion with the submit button.

Posts now use your location from when you started composing, not when you tap Post — so walking away mid-draft no longer changes where it gets pinned.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-14

Added the ability to pinch-to-zoom on photos throughout the app.

Fixed an issue where posting certain photos could fail. Fixed Find Friends not handling limited or denied Contacts access properly.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-12

Cleaned up the New Post screen — the context options (weather, venue, air quality, etc.) are now a single line instead of a row of buttons, so the Add Photo button is easier to see and reach.

Fixed an issue where photos picked from your library didn't show their original taken date.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-11

New app icon, redesigned around Stumbletown's core idea — a ring marking your 25m radius
Find friends from your contacts — Stumbletown can now check your contacts to help you follow people you already know
The People tab is now organized around Following and Nearby, making it easier to find who matters to you
Fixed an issue where post photos could appear cropped differently than expected
Improved location accuracy for more precise post placement
