Didn’t purchase premium version. I get 95% battery health reading without and 97% with extender attached. Does that mean that extender is super healthy and brings the overall health percentage up? It also shows 0 cycles in both cases. Highly recommend ### 5/5 — I don’t do reviews, but this one is worth it *2021-04-28, version 1.12.63* The basic App itself is an obvious must get for the price, as previous reviewers have said it opens up far more abilities to tinker with the settings than the Shimano one, and which biker doesn’t like to do that? I went and purchased the premium licence which although not cheap, does allow additional ‘useful’ tinkering to allow your bike to reach its maximum potential. Unlike one reviewer said, in my experience the app writer got back to me Immediately, and answered all my queries promptly and correctly. I would note that in order to use the premium app you may need to be a little literate and happy with the concept of ‘jailbreaking’ but it was far easier than jailbreaking phones and consoles etc. My only wish is that the premium app does not allow one setting to be changed on my motor E7000, which is available for the E8000, which is a bit disappointing, but hey perhaps there is a workaround for this, and I will contact the app developer about it when I can be bothered. And in fairness it does tell you before purchase of the premium app what it can and can’t do in the manual, (as always I just don’t read manuals) Otherwise the 99p app is a must, and if you want the best out of your lovely new E-bike then the cost of the premium licence is probably less than 1% of what you paid for the bike, so yeah! Oh one final thing, the app (and I don’t know if this is basic or premium sorry) lets you put the bike into ‘anti theft mode’ which basically will not allow the motor to function until you log back into the bike, with your pin and change it out, dont know how useful that actually is, as no potential thief will likely know the bike has it enabled, but at least it would irritate the life out of them that they have just stolen an essentially ‘bricked’ e-bike.:) ### 5/5 — Highly recommend this app *2021-04-27, version 1.12.63* Downgraded the FW to 4.8.0 as per instructions, purchased the license, changed to US market and all works perfectly. Loaded to the bike so easy. You can see all the details of the motor and battery charges. Set to USA then decreased the wheel size to about 1300. Rode the bike up the roads like a different bike altogether 👍 Also had great support from STunlock in down grading the software. I was missing a stage and they sorted for me. They gave fantastic customer service. Bought premium version but it does not work! Stuck at 16 mph. Please update Edit: Did show a way to downgrade. BUY THE COMPETITION. ### 1/5 — Motor issue - Motor warranty void *2022-03-22, version 1.14.83* Was running the shimano motor on US region settings using ST Unlocker. All running fine until the system developed a fault code. Having returned the bike to the shop, it turns out the warranty has been invalidated. If you use this app to change the region of your motor, note that you do so at your own risk as you will invalidate your warranty. In the end the derestriction didn’t happen after hours of this garbage. I asked the app for support after I told them the premium license wasn’t derestricting and they stopped responding to my emails altogether. The best feature of this app only works on a particular model + firmware *2020-06-14, version 1.9.41* DON’T GET SUCKERED LIKE I DID! This app claims to work with with various Shimano E-Bike motors (E6100, E7000, E8000) and while that may be true, the “killer feature” that most people want is to “derestrict” the speed limit of the motor assist (so you can continue to get pedal assistance beyond the regional speed limits). For this you have to pay an additional $33 USD for a “premium license” I read the user manual and saw the list of features that the premium license unlocks, including “Speed Derestriction: Raise the assist speed limit cut-off point (a.k.a “derestricting”)” After reading that, I thought the price was steep, but worth it to derestrict my E7000 motor. So I paid the extra 33 bucks for the premium license. To my dismay, the derestricting option did not appear. As I tried to figure out why, I read a few pages further down the 21 page manual and on page 17, I found a little asterisk disclaimer under the speed settings section: “*NOTE: This setting is only available for DU-E8000 with firmware 4.3.2 only.” I thought this was misleading to bury that VERY important nugget of information about the MAIN feature of the app way down on page 17 of the user manual, so I emailed the developer to tell them so. Their reply: “I would recommend to read the App’s manual first!” I found that quite smug and arrogant, and fair enough, I didn’t read every word of the 21 page manual before paying the $33. I got suckered and paid $33 for a reminder to not be so gullible. So I’m writing this as a warning to other potential suckers out there hoping this app will derestrict their Shimano motor... if you have an E8000 with firmware 4.3.2, it *may* work for you.
