## What is Stylloop?

The Stylophone — the iconic pocket synth famously played by David Bowie — is now on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Play 4 authentic retro synthesizer models, jam with built-in drum loops, and learn real songs with guided tutorials. No experience needed. Pure analog sound, zero samples.

4 AUTHENTIC RETRO SYNTH MODELS Every note generated live — real-time synthesis, no shortcuts:

· Original — Classic 50% square wave, true to the vintage S-1 · S-1 — Tight 25% pulse wave with a punchy, modern tone · GEN·X — Square wave + sub-oscillator with analog-style delay · BOWIE — Signature vibrato LFO, Bowie's sound in your pocket

LEARN SONGS WITH GUIDED TUTORIALS Follow along as notes light up on screen. Use Auto-Play to hear the melody first, then take control. The easiest way to start making real music.

BUILT-IN BEAT MACHINE Synthesized drum loops — no samples, pure DSP:

· Lo-Fi — Chill 80 BPM groove · Retro — Upbeat 120 BPM synth-pop pattern · Metronome — Steady 100 BPM for practice

RECORD, SAVE & SHARE Capture your performances with one tap and share instantly.

EXPRESSION & CONTROL · Pitch wheel for smooth bends · Vibrato toggle · A2–E4 range with octave shifting · Retro dark and light themes

Works on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. No internet, no ads — just pure synthesis.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.8.3 — 2026-10-19

Smoother, steadier, and easier to get around.

• New home screen: your streak and today's challenge now share one TODAY card, and today's song sits right in the Songs card.
• Fixed a crash that could happen on the play screen.
• Save your videos straight to Photos.
• Finished a song? Close the results card with the X button or a tap outside it.
• Closing the looper now stops your loop and beat.
• Calls, AirPods and switching apps no longer leave the beat or loop silent or out of time.
• Silent takes aren't saved, and they don't use up your free recordings.
• Bigger text: Home, Songs, Recordings and Settings follow your iPhone's text size.
• VoiceOver users can now play the keyboard directly.
• Better battery life when you're not playing.

Thanks for playing! If Stylloop makes you smile, a quick review helps a lot.

### 1.8.2 — 2026-10-17

The biggest Stylloop update yet. Play, learn and now create your own tracks.

NEW: CREATE
• Looper – record a phrase, loop it and stack up to 4 layers. Every loop is saved, so you can reopen it and keep building.
• Track view – name, mute, solo and set the level of each layer.
• Creator Mode – pick a beat, record a couple of layers and get a finished 15 or 30-second track.
• Share as video – turn any recording into a 9:16 video ready for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Or export M4A / WAV.

NEW SOUNDS & BEATS
• 6 new synth voices (10 in total): Synth, Bass, Organ, Robot, Retro 8-bit, Sci-fi and more.
• Beat machine with 9 styles (Lo-Fi, 80s, Funk, Trap, Space…) and free tempo control.
• Drum pads for finger drumming, plus a 16-step sequencer to build your own beat.
• Auto Scale – pick a key and never hit a wrong note.
• Magic Mode – every move on the keys sounds musical.
• Bend any note by sliding your finger up or down its key.

LEARN FASTER
• Instant feedback on every note.
• Stars and a best score for every song, and a "Next song" button when you finish.
• Practice tools: repeat a tricky line or slow the song down to 75%.
• Songs organised into themed shelves – Movies & Games, Classics, 80s, Rock Riffs and more. The Stranger Things theme is now free.

COME BACK EVERY DAY
• Daily Synth Challenge – one small goal a day.
• Daily goal and streaks – keep your streak to unlock new songs for free.
• Your stats: songs mastered, best score, sounds discovered and loops made.

ALSO
• Multi-touch keyboard with lower latency.
• A shorter intro that gets you playing in seconds.
• Better layout on foldable and Dynamic Island iPhones, plus many fixes.

Love Stylloop? A review helps us a lot.

### 1.8.1 — 2026-10-14

What's new in this update:

• Try Pro free for 7 days. New yearly subscribers get a free week with every voice, the full song library, beats and unlimited recording.
• Hear it before you unlock it. Tap a locked voice (S-1, GEN·X, BOWIE) to play it free for 10 seconds.
• Finished a song? We'll suggest the next one to learn.
• Recordings are more reliable. A take that was cut off when the app closed is now recovered automatically.
• Sound now plays even when your phone is on silent, and comes back after headphones are plugged in or out.
• Turning off practice reminders now stops all reminders.
• Bug fixes and performance improvements.

### 1.8 — 2026-09-16

This one's about fit and feel.

Stylloop now has a proper home on iPad, and every screen has been
retuned to suit the device you're actually holding. Song lessons open
by playing the phrase for you first, then hand the keys over. Small
things throughout respond faster and get out of your way sooner.

Keep playing.

### 1.7 — 2026-06-07

What's New:

Keep the retro vibes rolling! We've fine-tuned Stylloop to make your music-making experience even smoother and more responsive:

Audio Engine Optimization: Reduced latency for a more instant, seamless synthesizer feel.

UI Polish: Minor visual tweaks to keep that classic retro interface looking sharp.

Under-the-Hood Improvements: Squashed some annoying bugs to boost overall performance and stability.
