### 3/5 — Could be better

*2026-09-07, version 3.5.0*

Sep 2026:
1. Sharing digital key doesn't work: I sent the digital key to an Android 15 phone. After tapping the link with the key, the app simply displays a blank screen with a black button that has no label.

2. The tap-and-hold feature to activate a remote command is extremely inconvenient. To hold a finger on the screen, you need to be attentive to your finger. In contrast, the tap-and-hold implementation in Nissan’s MyNissan app, for instance, is much easier.

3. Status messages can get stuck even after pulling to refresh. To update them, you have to force quit the

4. Remote commands could fail with no explanation why.

### 2/5 — No multi-user support

*2026-09-05, version 3.5.0*

The current version has no way to connect multiple users to the same car, which creates an incredible hassle for a family vehicle.

### 4/5 — Not bad, but not great.

*2026-09-02, version 3.5.0*

Initially I didn’t have much in the way of expectations for this app, since I knew nothing about it or navigating the finer points of EV ownership. The dealer helped us install it the day we bought our Trailseeker, so that was my introduction.
After a couple weeks of using, our main complaint is managing the software for two drivers instead of one, and separating primary from secondary drivers. We remain optimistic, but the lag in updating charge levels (and general inconsistency in numbers) is real, and difficult to understand. I’m hoping it will improve.
To be fair to the dealer, this car (which is amazing) and software are so new they are having to learn a lot very quickly. But it’s their business, so I’m sure they’ll get it figured out.

### 3/5 — Slow to update

*2026-08-23, version 3.4.0*

This app was blamed for the 12V battery drain problem. I understand it has now been updated. The remote start, with climate control, is useful though it sometimes fails, as does even unlocking the car. The battery status updates are very slow.

### 2/5 — Car amazing, app subpar

*2026-08-21, version 3.4.0*

I love my Subaru trailseeker. I’m actually impressed at how great the vehicle is given how much Toyota and Subaru had been dragging their heels. The app and software is good but has some glaring flaws that seem eminently fixable with some good dev work.

Background refresh on this app drains the battery.
Also the charge controller should never let that happen and invoke the lithium to charge again if it needs to

You can change the max charge level from the app which is important because it’s nmc batteries so I keeps the charge at 80% or less unless I have a big road trip

They also don’t yet support battery percentage or ev routing in CarPlay.

No support for video playback when parked on CarPlay yet either which is important when sitting at a charger

Battery status is flaky / slow and no obvious way to refresh. I’d rather it tell me it’s stale and give me an option to manually refresh

There should be an option to unlock the charging cable. It gets stuck locked some times

Lastly being able to change the max charge and say charge to 100% by this time would be great for trips.

Fix it Subaru/toyota. It’d make the experience phenomenal

### 3/5 — Good when it works

*2026-08-20, version 3.4.0*

I had everything working. The app disconnected on its own and now it’s impossible to reconnect. The help number in the app is for Toyota and they simply say they cannot help. Put the Subaru number in the app dummies.

### 1/5 — Drains 12v Battery and Poor User Experience

*2026-08-14, version 3.4.0*

The main issue is that this app frequently causes the 12v battery to die once the car is off, leading to the need for a jump and tow to the dealer. This app essentially makes the car unexpectedly unreliable and there seems to be no official fix in the works, only a service bulletin instructing owners to disconnect from the app, a temporary fix that is just ridiculous. Furthermore I used to use the MySubaru app which was far better in terms of its user experience and reliability.

### 1/5 — Toyota needs to take a close look at their programming team

*2026-08-09, version 3.4.0*

Quite possibly one of the worst vehicle apps ever made. Not only does the digital connected services kill your 12v, digital key, charging status and remote start barely function requiring multiple attempts. Toyota should be ashamed of themselves

### 3/5 — Charging status and history had stopped working but seems to be back up. 🤞🏼

*2026-08-07, version 3.4.0*

Some notifications completely omit the identity of my vehicle although the app clearly identifies it elsewhere in other pages. “Your ____ is charging.”[!] Reinstalling doesn’t help. It all worked OK before the phantom report of an open window preceded the app collapse. Hoping tire pressure readings become available soon. I have upgraded the rating.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2026-08-05, version 3.4.0*

The app worked for a few months. I haven’t been able to log into my account for about a month. I’ve deleted and redownloaded it, still nothing. Before it completely stopped working, it would no longer pair with my keys. Seriously disappointing and a waste of money

### 1/5 — Crashes multiple times a day

*2026-08-02, version 3.4.0*

I have had the app for 24 hours. Twice on the first day the log-in screen won’t come up and I can’t reset it. The first time, I deleted the app and reinstalled. It worked. Now 4 hours later it’s doing it again. It’s ridiculous to have to reinstall multiple times a fat.

### 1/5 — Unstable and buggy

*2026-08-01, version 3.4.0*

The app is very buggy and unstable. It randomly signs out and when you try to sign back in it doesn’t work.
Delete and reinstall doesn’t work. In the background seems to be connected but doesn’t login to use the function. This needs to be fixed!

### 1/5 — Miles behind

*2026-08-01, version 3.4.0*

This app is miles behind compared the MySubaru app. The options are far limited. Take “climate” for instance, where previously one could set several different presets with all parameters available remotely, this app option is literally only one: temperature. It won’t remote start if the doors are unlocked, which is dumb- why not just have it lock them automatically when remote starting? And like others have said, there is a lag with the charge percentage being current.

### 1/5 — Rarely works

*2026-07-29, version 3.4.0*

I placed all sorts of settings via the app. They rarely stick. And if they do stick, they rarely actually work. For example, I have the echo charging setting on. I have to turn it off regularly to get my car to charge. Despite the setting, it’ll just sit there and not charge. There’s issues connecting. It’s just not a great app. I have to walk out to my car to get it to start charging. For example, there should just be a charge now button on the app. There isn’t one.

### 1/5 — Slow to update

*2026-07-26, version 3.4.0*

It needs to be better at refreshing charging, and vehicle information. Once this issue is fixed, I believe the app will have better rating.

### 2/5 — Battery not updating

*2026-07-24, version 3.4.0*

App needs to be fixed does not give you updated charge when you refresh it
It stays with the same percentage so you will never know where you are at when charging

### 1/5 — App after update broken

*2026-07-22, version 3.4.0*

App is slow to update when charging can’t manually update. Subaru blames their own app causing dead 12v battery. Update true when I wrote this now 07/26 update can’t erase notifications can’t refresh charging stats without restarting app. Are all Toyota apps this bad? Or is this Subaru thing?

### 2/5 — Worse again?

*2026-07-20, version 3.4.0*

I swear, who ever is designing this app must hate users. I’ve used the app for over a year now and every update it gets worse and worse.

Long press from the Home Screen to remote start? GONE.
Being able to remote start the car and leave the app before the sequence is done? GONE.
Somehow making the time it takes to remote start the car longer? GO… Nope, they actually delivered that in the last update.

The fact you have to pay a monthly fee to use basic controls is bad enough, but it’s the way things are heading. Making them worse so it’s easier for you to want to cancel the monthly sub seems like a dumb idea.

PLEASE! Fix the app. These are all things the app used to do or do better.

Thank you,
Every Subaru owner

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Please do better Subaru/Toyota

*2026-09-06, version 3.5.0*

Pleas Subaru/Toyota spend some time and put in serious effort to making a usable app that functions properly. For EV owners it is very important to have an app that shows them correct updated information. This app is just so subpar compared to other auto makers. You make great cars, but please listen to your customer base and work on upgrading this app so it is on par with other EV manufacturers. The remote functions hardly work, cannot pre-cool my car, Charging stats are never correct. I could go on…Please take this into serious consideration and build your customer base an app that they want and love to use.

Also give us EV route planning for apple maps, Toyota already has it, why cant they ota that update to Subaru?

### 1/5 — DON’T EVEN BOTHER

*2026-09-04, version 3.5.0*

This app has more glitches than Disney has Dalmatians. It simply doesn’t do what it was designed to do. If you want to get practiced in futility and frustration, hop on board. But be warned, Sisyphus would choose his boulder over having to use this app

### 1/5 — App terrible

*2026-08-29, version 3.4.0*

Coming from a previous tesla owner this app needs so much work. Not user friendly at all. Tried to turn in ac remotely and didn’t work. They really need to take customer feedback and improve it asap

### 1/5 — So many flaws…

*2026-08-25, version 3.4.0*

Where to begin?
Font size too small..
Inaccurate charging data for 2026 model battery…
Too much empty space that could be used for more legible text and icons….
Almost no use of color….
“Health” page is mostly links…

### 1/5 — Trash

*2026-08-24, version 3.4.0*

Complete waste of time. Takes time to update. Mobile key doesn’t work. Shows door open when it’s not. Insane. Needs a huge fix.

### 1/5 — Apple CarPlay Does Not Sync

*2026-08-24, version 3.4.0*

Apple CarPlay does not sync consistently and will randomly drop while you are driving. This app is a hot mess.

### 1/5 — 12v Battery Drain

*2026-08-23, version 3.4.0*

The app was discovered by my local Subaru service department to have a bug. It constantly polls the car and eventually drains the 12v car battery if not started for a few days. I had to jumpstart my new 3-month old car twice in the in the past 3 weeks. Solution for now, per the service technician, is to delete the app until the 3rd party issue gets resolved. Disappointing…

### 1/5 — WTAF

*2026-08-23, version 3.4.0*

How is it that such a high tech car can make a PhD and an electrical systems engineer want to throw their phones through the windshield. Been trying over an hour to add second driver and second driver profile. Simply nuts. Contradicting directions. Dead ends. Come on Subaru/Toyota. This is completely unacceptable. Connecting two drivers (or more) should be seamless, intuitive, and user friendly. FIX IT!

### 1/5 — App sucks

*2026-08-19, version 3.4.0*

The app has erased all my messages info and now I can’t use it In my car. I can’t log on I no longer have exists. Now I have issues using it in my car. This app sucks sucks sucks sucks

### 1/5 — Needs work

*2026-08-16, version 3.4.0*

Why the long press that takes forever? Can we just press once and go? Can you add the ability to stop the commanded actions after? For example, if I turn the hazards and then I want them off after there is no way to do that.
Also, can you add the ability to close/open the windows? That was a nice feature I had in my Polestar.
And we know the app or the connected services is draining my car’s 12 V battery in an abnormal way.
So there are multiple things to fix!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — EV Routing Planner

*2026-08-06, version 3.4.0*

I have a Subaru uncharted 2026. I would love to know when the Apple Maps EV routing planner will be supported by the Subaru uncharted app. I know that the Toyota connect app supports the CHR with Apple Maps Ev Route Planner and I’m wondering when Subaru will support the uncharted as it is the same vehicle thanks.

### 5/5 — Updated?

*2026-06-24, version 3.4.0*

Just bought my Uncharted and was disappointed to see such a low rated app to replace my previous 5 star rated Buick app. Not sure what all the issues are from or if there have been recent updates, but I’ve had no problems using the app. It is very responsive with the vehicle connects quickly and gives real time updates. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

### 5/5 — So far

*2026-05-17, version 2.3.0*

So far so good. Hope these negative reviews turn out to be oppo spam.

### 5/5 — Subaru

*2025-04-08, version 2.0.0*

I like the app so far

### 5/5 — Works Great! Awesome features!

*2025-04-01*

I’ve never had a problem with this app. We leased a 24 SOLTERRA in January of 25 and downloaded the app right away. It’s my wife’s car, so I simply logged into her profile on my phones app. We can start and stop the car, lock and unlock, set charging schedules and climate control settings. She absolutely loves how she can warm it up from her bed in these Colorado winters. And if we forget to lock it, you can do that too…all from the app. It tells you mileage and service reminders, even if you left the windows down. Super simple to use and comes in handy every day we drive it. Pro tip: the car needs to be plugged in to set the climate control “schedule.”

### 5/5 — all I need

*2023-04-08*

works great for my vehicle needs

### 5/5 — Loved it

*2023-04-08*

Easy and works well.

### 5/5 — Perfect Companion

*2023-02-08, version 1.0.4*

Love the app, made it seamless to set up my navigation.

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2022-12-02, version 1.0.3*

Love this app and the slick design. It has cool feature like remote commands and digital key which I'm super excited to use.

### 4/5 — Connectivity

*2026-09-05, version 3.5.0*

Many complain about connectivity issues, they should keep in mind that most garages have very poor or no connectivity. I have observed quite good connectivity on the street.
