## What is Subtext?

You've reread the thread six times. You still can't tell what they meant.

Subtext reads a message thread and shows you what's going on underneath it: the tone, the push and pull, who is owning what, and where things tend to go sideways. You bring a conversation and Subtext gives you a clear, calm read in seconds.

New ways to bring in a conversation

Screenshots still work exactly as they did. Two more options join them.

One long screenshot. If your phone can take a scrolling screenshot, or you stitch one together with another app, Subtext slices it up and reads the whole thing.

A screen recording. Record yourself scrolling slowly back through a chat and Subtext pulls the readable frames out of it. This covers far more history than tapping screenshot over and over, and it works in any messaging app. If you have never done either one, the app walks you through it.

Each import also carries about twice as much as before.

Also in this version

An import can add to a conversation you already saved instead of replacing it. Subtext lines up the overlap, and tells you what it is about to do before it does it.

Photos in a chat are counted, so they no longer look like they went missing. Reading what is inside them stays off unless you turn it on for that import.

Sharing a reading now has two depths. The short card is what it always was. Full detail adds every flag with its explanation and the coaching line.

A reading can cover up to 500 messages. The default is still 250, and the setting is yours to change.

Fixed: sharing a second reading could hand over the previous one instead. What you share is now always the reading in front of you.
