## What is Subway Widgets?

Subway Widgets puts live MTA subway and bus arrivals on your iPhone home screen. No app to open, no extra taps. The widget reads the MTA's free public data feeds and surfaces the next train at whichever station is closest to you, even as you move around the city.
LIVE ARRIVALS, NO APP TO OPEN
Widgets read GTFS realtime feeds directly. The next train's minutes count down on your home screen between network refreshes. Tap once for the full station view; otherwise just glance.
FOLLOWS YOU AROUND THE CITY
Configure a widget for the 6. Walk from your apartment to Murray Hill, and the widget retargets to 33 St automatically. Same for any line, any borough.
TRUNK AWARE
NYC riders know the 4, 5, 6 share trackage. So do the N, Q, R, W. The widget knows too. Configure for any line in a trunk and it surfaces whichever sibling line gets you on a train fastest at the closest shared station.
SMART STACK SUPPORT
Add a widget for each line you ride and stack them. Swipe up and down to flick between Nearest Q, Nearest 6, Nearest L. Native iOS gesture, no buttons, no extra tap targets.
LIVE ACTIVITIES
Pin a specific train and a Live Activity counts it down on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Useful for the last few minutes before your train arrives.
SERVICE ALERTS
MTA service disruption alerts surface inline on every line and station screen. No separate alerts tab, no separate browse step.
OFFLINE MAPS
Subway map and Manhattan bus map bundled in the app. Pinch to zoom. Works without a network connection, for when the tunnel eats your signal.
WIDGET THEMES
System and Line Color are free. A growing roster of Pro themes adds different looks: Digital (LED platform sign), Mosaic (NYC subway tile), Playbill (Broadway program), MoMA (modernist blocks), HighLine (botanical), Yankees and Mets (pinstripes), Knicks (hardwood floor), Rangers (ice scratches), and Skyline (city nightscape). Every theme renders the same real time data.
ALWAYS FREE
Real time arrivals, line filtering, nearest stop widgets in all three sizes, trunk grouping, walking time estimates, Smart Stack support, refresh button, Live Activities, service alerts, deep linking from widget to detail view, and offline maps.
OPTIONAL PRO THEMES
Unlock one decorative widget theme for $1.29, any three for $2.99, or grab the All Themes Pass for $9.99 (covers every current theme plus any added in future updates). One time purchases, no subscriptions, Family Sharing supported.
No ads. No analytics. No accounts. No transit data behind a paywall.
ABOUT
Built by 25C LLC, an independent studio. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The MTA publishes their real time data feeds free; this app consumes them honestly. iOS 18 or later required.
