## What is SudoEarth?

SudoEarth is a calm, zen-aesthetic sudoku game. No ads. No trackers. No notifications. Just sudoku, painted in watercolor across five real geographies — Iceland, Kyoto, Tuscany, Norway, and Scotland.

A SUDOKU WORLD TOUR
Each chapter is a place. Iceland's aurora-lit fjords. Kyoto's bamboo grove. Tuscany's honey hills. Norway's cold-blue waterfalls. Scotland's misty highlands. Solve 30 puzzles in each chapter to complete the journey. 150 hand-tuned puzzles in version 1.0, every one verified to have a unique solution.

MIRA — A GENTLE COACH
Stuck on a puzzle? Mira, your in-game guide, offers three-tier progressive hints — direction first, then technique, only the answer if you ask twice more. The hint flow respects your pace: nothing is given before you've asked. Mira's tier-3 ground-truth gate means the answer is always correct, never an AI guess.

WILDLIFE COLLECTION
Each chapter has a hand-painted anchor wildlife — Arctic fox, Japanese macaque, Tuscan owl, Norwegian reindeer, Scottish wildcat. Complete a level to unlock the painting. Walk into the Wildlife tab anytime to see your collection.

DESIGNED FOR CALM
SudoEarth's design language is rice-white paper, soft watercolor washes, italic serif chapter titles, hand-drawn ink icons. No saturated alarming red anywhere — even the "out of hints" state lands on warm gold, not shouty red. The whole app is locked to light mode for now, deliberately, to match the airy notebook feel.

OFFLINE-FIRST
Every puzzle works offline. The rule-engine fallback means even Mira's hints work without a network — your hints just route locally instead of through our server. Your puzzle progress is saved locally first, then optionally synced to your other devices via Apple Sign-in.

PRIVACY-FIRST
We do not track you. We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. SudoEarth uses Apple Sign-in's anonymous identifier — we never see your name or email. Crash diagnostics use Firebase Crashlytics with no personal information attached. Full details at sudoearth.app/privacy.

PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION
Free play comes with 3 Mira hints per day. SudoEarth Premium unlocks unlimited Mira hints. Two plans — Monthly and Yearly. Both are auto-renewable subscriptions and renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; you can cancel anytime in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. The yearly plan offers the best per-month value.

• New beginner hints: a gentle gold outline marks cells with exactly one possible digit on intro-tier puzzles, so you always know where to start.
• Pencil marks: tap Notes to jot down candidate digits in any cell.
• Wrong answers now show clearly with a warm orange wash + a gentle haptic — no more silent mistakes.
• Iceland reworked: every chapter's first puzzle is now the easiest, with smoother difficulty as you progress.
• A small watercolor bloom celebrates each puzzle you finish.
• Continue button now actually continues to the next puzzle.
• Ambient sounds play even when your phone's silent switch is on (you opted in — it should just work).

### 1.2 — 2026-05-20

A quieter way to keep time with your puzzles.

• Three optional moments. Morning Iceland, Midday Tuscany, Evening Kyoto — each with the chapter and ambient track that matches the hour. A soft card on the home screen during your enabled segments. One tap to enter.

• Seasonal sync. Your device knows what month it is. The watercolor washes shift a few percent warmer or cooler, and a quiet seasonal layer — birds in spring, distant thunder in winter — mixes under your chapter's base sound. You probably won't notice it changed. That's the point.

• Your Journey. A private on-device log of every session. Today, this week, this month, the time you've spent and the chapters you've sat with. No leaderboard. No streak. No comparison to anyone. Just yours, here, and never sent anywhere.

• A clearer board. When you select a digit, every other instance of it on the board now lifts — including the puzzle's given numbers, which earlier missed the highlight. The number pad shows how many of each digit still need placement, and underlines the one that matches your selection.

Calm by default. Nothing new turns itself on without you.

v1.1 — Quieter, more focused, more meditative.

• Cell selection on the board is now clear at a glance — selected cells get a soft stroke, and the row/column/3x3 box of your selection is subtly highlighted so you can scan placement faster.

• Same-digit awareness — selecting a cell that already holds a number lifts every matching digit on the board to a deeper text color. Filling a cell briefly pulses gold so you know it took.

• Ambient soundscapes — five hand-mixed meditation tracks (rain & guzheng, ocean & flute, mountain wind & strings, campfire & cello, summer night & piano) you can toggle from Settings or the music-note icon on the puzzle screen. Plays gently under your own music; off by default.
