BIG niggle: I would like to reset the statistics preferably each difficulty separately. I like to play 25 games at a go. Currently the only way I see is to delete and DL. Small niggle: currently if you abandon a game (can’t solve) the game isn’t noted in the games played statistic. There doesn’t have to be a penalty but a simple counter would be nice. Finally, the game before paying the app came off sort of clunky to me, if you find this, ignore it and unlock the full game. Worth every penny **Developer response:** Hello The latest update now includes a feature where you can just swipe left on a level to reset its scores. This developer wants me to drop money to unlock the extreme levels before letting me try them?! Not going to happen. It could be a waste of money. I think this model is quite fair as one gets to try the app and if they enjoy, they can buy the small 1 time only in app purchase to support development. If you have questions, please email me at pran@pranapps.com ### 2/5 — Not as advanced as I would like *2024-11-07* There’s no option (unless I’m just not seeing it) that allows you to continuously keep applying the same number your working on without having to back track and have to hit the space plus the number instead of just pressing the space. I don’t like all the hits that are marked inside each square, (hints that I did not put there). There’s several other things that I don’t like but for now that’s all I want to write about. ### 4/5 — Great app, difficulty rating is maybe broken *2024-10-25, version 7.0* I have spent years with this app. First downloaded it in 2018. The medium level of difficulty is legitimately impossible. I have never solved a medium puzzle without having to just straight up guessing. I have not had similar problems with hard or extreme ### 3/5 — Greedy dev cuts game *2024-09-23, version 7.0* Previously, for a short while, the dev totally crippled this game and made you pay for all options and difficulty levels. Then the bad reviews started so the dev reverted back to a sensible game with a few paid options. Now, the dev is slowly locking down even the most basic options again behind a paywall. For example, when you completed a number, it used to be greyed out to show you that it was done. Now you have to pay for that! Except every other sudoku app does that for free! Meanwhile, bad design like having numbers close together all in a row at the bottom means you keep hitting the wrong one and registering as a mistake. Just do yourself a favour and check out Good Sudoku by Zach Gage instead. Or you can hide them by swiping up/down on the notes button. Hope you update the review after trying it out. ### 4/5 — Resume unsolved puzzles feature! *2024-02-26* I wish this app would save unfinished games so I could go back later and try to solve them. Once a new game is selected there is no history of previously unsolved games. The hints only reveal a square instead of offering a suggestion for the next possible move. The medium puzzles are waaaaay too hard considering the easy puzzles are a cake walk. I complement you on the dark theme. I would suggest two rows for the candidates at the bottom of the puzzle, it is too easy to press an incorrect digit. Also, a box around them looks nice. (See the NYT sudoku app) It would also be nice to have an on/off toggle for the automatic pencil candidates (also see NYT app) **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. The features are great and I used to love this app. Was hoping it would go back to being challenging after some feedback from others. Anyone else feel the same? You have to pay to get the harder levels. ### 4/5 — Probably my favorite sudoku app *2023-09-28* I’m enjoying this version of sudoku. Most of the features that are needed in a sudoku app are here. The hard puzzles are VERY challenging. I appreciate the automated pencil mark feature very much. The highlights are useful (though I do find some color themes to lack sufficient contrast). I have a few suggestions for improvement: The “coloring” technique is not an option on this app and it could be a very useful addition. I sometimes use a solver to learn more about the extremely difficult techniques. It would be nice to be able to export the board in its current solve state to make that easier. Or, maybe the hint option can give a tutorial on the technique used to move you ahead, rather than just exposing an answer. **Developer response:** Thanks for the kind feedback. I had a great sudoku app that is no longer made, and it let me scan games in as well as taught different techniques. So when you asked for a hint, it would say something like “look for a naked pair” rather than saying “do you accept defeat?“ I think that’s just insulting and stupid because it doesn’t teach anything. The easy ones are very simple and with the mediums I find myself sometimes stuck and can’t solve the puzzle so have to guess. I have looked up advanced strategies and have used many and gotten better, but still there are times when I see no way to move forward. Don’t know if that would be added on at some point, not just a hint at telling you a number but actually a strategy you can use to solve it at that point. This would take some doing I’m sure. There’s a ton of options, and my favorite by far (well 2 now as of yesterday’s update) is that I can have all of the possible notes pre-filled!! And as of yesterday I can export my game stats so I can check them out in a spreadsheet and make my own graphs. Tons of features. ### 5/5 — SO SAD but will leave 5 stars for now *2023-12-06* This was by far the best Sudoku app I’ve played and after trying several it’s the only one I play! Love all the features, and because even the beginning two levels were so challenging I gained mad skills and was a way better player. BUT now with the recent update because of reviews, Pran listened to his audience (not a bad thing!) and made it much much easier. Now I can solve a puzzle in such a short amount of time and there is zero challenge! I don’t even have to use my brain at all! I haven’t looked into how much it is to unlock the higher levels but I can’t help feeling cheated and now I have to pay to get the same level of game I have been playing all this time? I don’t know if I can even trust that the higher levels are hard enough. It seems like a child’s game now. I’m so sorry to be writing this and I hope something changes.
