The graphics around the playing table are amusing and do not distract. My only complaint is the placement of the two text buttons on the lower left. I am left-handed and the side of my hand brushes over them and changes to another screen. This happens a lot, and is annoying. Otherwise the app is good. I also expect a number choice to blank, darken or something to show that all 9 of that number have been used. ### 1/5 — Has problems *2011-06-16* I have the game setup to keep you from putting in the wrong answer but it doesn't work properly. I have tried to intentionally pu in the wrong answer to check out this feature and have found that it only keeps you from putting in the wrong answer if that number is already in one of the same rows or in the same block, other wise it will let you put in wrong numbers. Otherwise I would of given the game five stars. Nice look and simple interface. I really like the fact that it has a newspaper feature which I have not tested yet. I would like to see a feature in other sudoku games that will populate all blocks with penciled in numbers so you don't have to do this manually. I have now tried to use the newspaper feature and it doesn't work, so I reduced my rating of this game. These kind of problems should have been tested before this game was released. I have not used prior versions so I do not know if these features worked prior to this version. This game has lots of potential but I can not give a good rating for such blatant non working features. I believe this game could easily be a five star game if the developers listen to the people and make the changes as needed....first make the game work...then add the subtle features that would make this game standout from the rest ### 1/5 — App is missing a lot for people that like to play on the computer. *2011-04-27* I wish the apps that you pay for had a free trail period. If this was the case I would return this app instead I have to delete it and loose the .99. It has sudoku games so if you like playing them in the paper this app will work fine but if you're like me and play sudoku on a computer then you probably will not like this app. This app completely lacks options except, restart game, change background, which has only one other choice, and no sound. The app is missing so much. Cons: There is no indication how many numbers of a certain number has been used so far or if the number has been completely used up. There's no pause, unless you close out the app. It has a useless auto fill that fills in any box at random and not the box you select. There are no hints, at all. There are only two background/card options, either old style or a new style. Also you can't turn off the timer. This is a very disappointing app. I purchased this app because of the positive reviews but then I realized that the reviews are sorted by most useful. I wonder who determines this since the most useful seem to be only the positive ones. I don't see a helpful voting number like other website have. ### 1/5 — Impossible to read this font. *2010-09-14, version 0* I have problems with this application because the font is a script font that uses characters we don't use in our numeric system. All those torn pages and different colors are okay for advertising the app, but they make it almost impossible to do the puzzle. Why is this not a straight forward puzzle? Why do I have to squint to make out the numbers? This is not a good app because it is confusing, they use a forsaken script font, because there is no pause button, there is no tuturial, and because it costs money when there are so many BETTER free apps out there. I tried to get the developer to return my money but he said I had to get iTunes to do that. The app is impossible to use. The colors and the crazy font they picked make the games virtually impossible to solve without going blind. I hate this app and I would like a refund I would like my money back!!!! ### 1/5 — Pretty But Useless!! *2010-06-01, version 0* This is by FAR the worst implementation of Sudoku for the iPAD or iPHONE I have ever seen. It is visually stunning, however the gameplay is incomplete, lacks basic features, and is much too rudimentary. Most of the reviews of this game are clearly written by shills. You would think the implementation of "notations" into the latest release was a groundbreaking achievement lest one forget that this feature has been included in virtually ALL other online Sudoku games! There are MANY better and FREE Sudoku games out there. DONT waste your money on this pig! ### 1/5 — Not worth buying *2010-05-05, version 0* I agree with other comments that the font is hard to read. For Americans, the 1s look like 7s. There is no way to pencil one number in a square. I have also noticed 2 bugs: several times the game has generated invalid boards. For example, one group of 9 will have multiple "2"s which is illegal. The other issue is the time to complete isn't the actual time spent playing, but the difference between the start time and end time (even if the iPad is off during that time). The timer should pause when the game is paused or off.
