it’s sudoku. it works well and doesn’t have ads, plus it comes with plenty of good teaching resources for various techniques. 

i do not care for the lives system. if i make a mistake i shouldn’t be getting information out of it but with lives the game will basically just outright tell me the answer to certain cells sometimes, which feels a bit deflating especially if i’m far into a puzzle

You make a great point that being shown a mistake the moment you make it can give the answer away. So we built exactly that option. The next update adds a setting called "Show mistakes instantly." Turn it off (in the game Settings, under Assist) and the game stops flagging your entries while you play. No red cells, nothing pointing you toward the answer. You solve at your own pace and can review your progress whenever you pause.

This is part of our big v4 update, going live within the next week or two. If it hits the mark for you, we would be truly grateful if you would consider updating your rating to 5 stars. It really helps a small team keep making the game better.

Can’t recommend this app more for sudoku lovers. No ads and unlimited games!! So fun! This app has helped me form a passion for Sudoku. I love using this game to calm me down after a busy day / shift.

Bei einem Fehler meldet die App das mit einem Ton. Dadurch wird meine Übertragung von Musik in meinen Hörgeräten eingestellt. Sollte abgestellt werden !

**Developer response:** Danke für den Hinweis! In der neuesten Version kannst du den Warnsound direkt in den Spieleinstellungen deaktivieren. So sollten deine Hörgeräte nicht mehr unterbrochen werden.

Glad this is free without ads, but Wish there was a feature to permanently turn off sound effects, it’s annoying to have to turn them off every single time I go to play the game.

Based on player feedback like yours, we decided to remove sound effects from the app completely, so there’s no need to turn them off anymore and they won’t interrupt your experience.

Turns off before I finish- not acceptable! 
And without any mistakes.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. We were unable to reproduce this issue and asked for additional details, but didn’t receive further information.

Since then, the app has received several updates improving stability and gameplay. Unexpected shutdowns should no longer occur.

If you’re willing to try the latest version, we’d really appreciate hearing if the issue is resolved — and hopefully earning that 5th star ⭐

Don’t know how a sudoku app could get any more useless than not functioning offline in airplane mode. Highly questionable decision. Deleted immediately.

This is Strickland in iPhone screen format and does not automatically adjust to being used on an iPad. I also really wish that when I clicked on the numbers at the bottom of the screen: that the game would then allow me to enter the number into multiple spots on the game board. It would make entering all of the same number onto the board a lot easier. Which in turn would make my game playing time go down and the game easier to complete faster.

The feature you described is already available and free to use.

You can enable Number-First Mode in Settings. After that, simply long-press a number at the bottom to activate continuous entry mode, then tap multiple empty cells to fill them quickly.

There is also an optional setting that automatically switches to the next number once the active number is fully placed — you can enable this in Game Settings for even faster play.

We’re also working on improving the iPad layout experience. Thanks for helping us improve!

This is a mobile game. It’s very easy to just accidentally tap the wrong thing. That should be something you can undo with the undo button. But the undo button doesn’t affect notes. Accidentally put a note where you’d put a number you’d figured out? Undo button doesn’t work. Accidentally put a number where you meant to put a note? There go all your notes. If you’d already done any advanced  solving techniques, you’re screwed. Might as well give up on the puzzle because you accidentally tapped the wrong thing just once. I’m uninstalling. Maybe I’ll find another app that doesn’t track me, doesn’t require a subscription fee just to play, and actually has a functional undo button.

Based on feedback like yours, we improved the system so that both numbers and notes can now be undone, and the undo feature is completely free and unlimited. This means you can safely undo mistakes whether they involve notes or numbers while solving a puzzle.

Our goal has always been to keep the game simple, private, and fair for players. If you’re willing to give the latest version another try and the new undo behavior solves the issue, we’d truly appreciate it if you could update your review — and hopefully give us that 5th star ⭐.

It’s good, however it only allows you to play 4 numbers at a time… which is a pain cause you can not fill in numbers higher than the four numbers offered at the bottom of the puzzle.

After investigating the issue thoroughly, we discovered that it was caused by layout limitations on smaller devices such as older iPhone models.

We’ve now updated the interface so that all numbers display properly, even on compact screens like iPhone SE (1st generation).

A while later the people running this app said that they were working on making this accessible to iPads as well. I’m excited to see when this happens.

**Developer response:** Great news! The new iPad-optimized version is now available with layouts designed specifically for larger screens. Number-First Mode is also still available, allowing you to long-press a number and enter it into multiple cells quickly.

The automatic “prefill all notes” feature is available in the Premium version. Many players use it to speed up early-game setup and focus purely on strategy.

I’m not a longtime Sudoku player - I actually only started playing about two weeks ago - but after trying several Sudoku apps on the App Store, this is easily by far the best one I have found. The game format is super clean, minimalistic, and easy to use. Everything about it feels well-designed, and the best part about it is, no ads! It is so rare these days to find this good of a game with no ads. Like most other online Sudoku games, you only get 3 mistakes before the puzzle ends, which I actually enjoy because it adds an extra challenge to the game. If you prefer unlimited lives and hints, there’s an optional subscription available for purchase. This app honestly feels like a hidden gem. I hope to see this app thrive and grow to a million downloads one day, because this developer has done such an amazing job. And I hope to see more game achievements in the Game Center one day in the future!

I have been a “numbers” guy all my life. I just recently started this app to cognitively strengthen and enjoy number challenges. I like this app as it doesn’t make you sit through “advertisements”… give it a chance!!
