I have been a fan of Astraware sudoku since the days of Palm OS and it's great to see that this game has evolved on IOS and the latest incarnation is the best yet. Not perfect due to occasional lag or "freezing" during game play but all and all a great app and visually pleasing. ### 4/5 — Good app! *2013-08-05, version 1.00.016* I love this sudoku app. I have had several and this is, by far, my favorite. The only negative is that I wish the board was a bigger size. Love it! ### 3/5 — Just OK *2012-02-07, version 1.00.004* I started off thinking these were really hard, but once I got their "trick" I found that diabolical was not even hard. The posted scores even show people solving diabolical in seconds. Their "trick" is to "assume" that if 2 numbers are in a box in one row, the same 2 numbers will be in a box in the same row - even if one or two of the numbers is also in another row in that box. This new version of Sudoku has crisp graphics and challenging play. And it's proven to be big free so far. I was in a hospital room sitting with a very ill family member. Uh no. I checked and volume was already turned all the way down. Sound effects were turned off in the app, So there was no way to prevent another occurrence. Deleted. ### 1/5 — Sudoku update *2014-07-23, version 1.70.001* Ditto on previous reviewers headaches with the updated app not allowing the restoration of previous purchases. Apple will not refund the redundant purchase, even though subsequent update release notes state that the "restore" function did not work. Sounds like an early Dilbert comic strip - sell defect products that cause users to have to repurchase. Great business model for Apple to support among its vendors. ### 1/5 — Zero support *2014-07-10, version 1.70.000* After an update, in-app purchases could not be restored. I contacted Astraware 7 times over a month through their online support ticket form. Never got a single response. Terrible, nonexistent support, and in this case a complete ripoff. $3 down the drain to these criminals. Several months later and an update. Same problem. Same crooked lack of response from Astraware. Don't give them your money. The game is good, but you will have to pay for it over and over. Avoid these crooks, who never respond to their support tickets. ### 1/5 — Sudoku - full version *2013-10-11, version 1.01.004* I loved this game. After an update, the game froze up. After a week I deleted the game, uploaded it, and paid for it again. The same thing happened again. Now all I have is the same frozen page. Please fix it and I'll change my rating to 5 stars. Thanks. P.S. I have an iPhone 3GS Suzy ### 1/5 — Beware, can't restore purchases *2013-07-15, version 1.00.016* I've used Astraware apps starting with Palm, through WinCE, and now iPhone. Purchased this when it first came out, and have used it across several devices as I've upgraded. Now the Restore Purchases option no longer works, just spins forever. Contacted Astraware and got no response. Add that to the fact that it isn't optimized for the iP5, and it's a sure sign that it's time to move on. You've lost a loyal customer. ### 1/5 — current version works on iPhone, crashes on iPad *2012-06-30, version 1.00.016* This is my favorite Sudoku app - no flashy stuff to distract me from the puzzle, easy to use, and just worked - until this update. It's fine on my iPhone, but on the iPad it's useless. I can get into a puzzle, but tapping a number doesn't input it into the square, and then the app hangs and crashes. Both devices are running iOS 5.1.1. Since I play on my iPad 99% of the time, I had to revert to the previous version (I use an Automator workflow to backup the previous versions of all my mobile apps, just in case something like this happens). ### 2/5 — Used to be great *2023-06-02* I played the old version every day for years. The new version is not as good. I only play occasionally now. I also don’t like submitting my score. Always at the bottom of the so called players. I may delete it and find a new one. ### 2/5 — Ads; previous purchases can’t be restored *2018-04-25, version 1.90.002* I bought the app previously but now it fails to restore previous purchases, so it now shows ads after I already paid for the app. Hasn’t been updated for iPhone X display support either so it seems like the app has been abandoned, which is especially disappointing as I’ve been buying Astraware games since Windows Mobile. ### 2/5 — Lost my unlocked priveleges *2014-07-18, version 1.70.001* I enjoyed OTD for a couple months after upgrading from the old AW Sudoku; some things were better (could always get the day's puzzles if I had a connection), some worse (pencilmarks contrast). However, today it started showing ads. Restore purchases requests iTunes passwd but then just sits there. Banner ads really wreck the game for me. Ponied up another 3 bucks to get back to scratch, but very frustrated about the backsliding to annoying ads. ### 3/5 — Satisfied *2013-02-02, version 1.00.016* I really like the game. When I post my time though it is never my actual time. If I finished a puzzle in 3 minutes it puts 12 minutes. Unsure why it does this?
