The current process to add numbers is cumbersome. I’m looking at other Sudoku apps. I’ve played this app for many years, and switched to it specifically for the quick fill. Your newest updates are fine, but not worth losing quick fill. Please bring it back, even if it’s only an option that people can choose. ### 3/5 — Can’t Change Levels *2024-04-26, version 3.0.12* It won’t allow me to change levels. What do I need to do? Thanks. ### 4/5 — Best App for Sudoku *2022-10-25* The hard puzzles are way too easy; I hardly use any advanced techniques…The expert level it is way too much though (endless chains to identify) So I end up playing the hard until I get bored and then go to expert, where I spend most of the time trying to identify chains (using my hints). Love the addition of daily challenges. My only criticism is it appears the background music was removed with the latest update. It was very relaxing and oddly enough was one of my favorite parts of the app. Please bring it back in a future update! ### 4/5 — The newest update helps *2021-10-18* The previous update was a huge dud, visibility sucked. Plenty of us told them about it here and directly. It worked! It's a lot better than it was after the update. Cell highlighting now makes it really hard to analyze the game and the removal of landscape mode makes it harder to play as well. But the new update… I honestly don’t understand why you changed the design, because now it’s impossible to see when I play the game. Whether the board is white or dark, it’s so much harder to see the numbers. Before, when you touched a square, helpful columns and rows would in a light color would appear; that’s gone now. The font is tiny. It’s just a nightmare to play. Please fix this. Uninstalling. Do not buy. ### 1/5 — Makes terrible puzzles *2022-02-12* The very second expert puzzle I tried in this version had 3 unique solutions with no logical way to pick one. The developers of this app don’t seem to realize that uniqueness is only a logically correct method of solving a puzzle if that puzzle can be solved without it. Also, the hint UI is broken; the text is broken up into short sentences that would fit on the screen, but instead of filling empty space they’re compressed into a crappy scroll box that only shows half the text at once. ### 1/5 — Terrible update, UI is a disaster *2021-12-26, version 3.0.2* V3 changed the UI and the colors are terrible. Lack of adequate contrast, greyed out icons that are virtually impossible to see, and the new score display burries the game time, which is the most important stat of the game. The only positive is that you can now see the phone status bar when playing. ### 1/5 — Was my five-star favorite until ... *2021-10-23, version 3.0.2* The author made a horrible decision to ruin the user interface. It is now indistinguishable from any other particle in the enomous heap of hyped-up children's games. You have ruined it ### 1/5 — New User Interface is Awful *2021-08-18, version 3.0.0* This game used to have contrasting color blocks which highlighted blocks potentially containing the selected number. Highly visible! Now, instead, they just use a different colored font to highlight the number. Nowhere near as visible! It’s taken the joy out of the game. I consider this user interface nearly unusable now. Yes, I tried lots of different option. I was a big fan of this implementation of Sudoku. Disappointed. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Best Sudoku App Out There *2021-03-04* Bar none, this is the good standard for sudoku apps on the iPhone. I’ve been playing this one for at least 7-8 years, and it is the most reliable, even coming with cool features that I haven’t seen in any other app; the coolest is that if you’re stuck and you request a hint, it’ll tell you an official strategy for solving sudoku puzzles (i.e. X-Wing, Finned Swordfish, etc.) and how to apply it in your own puzzle. I didn’t know what those were or how to utilize them until playing this app. The user interface is also extremely intuitive, pleasing on the eyes, and easy to learn and master, so the only problems you’ll have to navigate are the ones in the puzzles themselves. I have gotten so much better at sudoku because of this app; I used to barely understand sudoku before this, but I’ve learned a lot and had so much fun doing it. ### 5/5 — Very good app *2020-10-12, version 2.3.31* As a newbie I am very impressed by the hints system. A very good explanation comes with the hints. The ‘easy’ puzzles to be a bit on the difficult side though. As a result I appreciate the hint system. ### 5/5 — Reciew *2020-10-09* Enjoy this game very much! I do think the difference between between difficulty levels need to be revised. Agree with ‘Breezy’ and ‘Easy’ difficulty, but the next one is too much a jump in difficulty. Also, like to see the third level brought down in difficulty a touch. Very glad to see the version I have, which is paid for with out ads. Would like to see puzzles with out the ‘pattern’ of the distribution of the numbers. That is, they often have a symmetrical distribution of the numbers in a balanced pattern. Also, the options and settings are very enjoyable. One last note, the back ground and text are the same color, all white, in this statement review. Please adjust. Had to go to another application to write, copy, and paste this text. ### 5/5 — Best Sudoku App *2020-08-16* I played the commercial version for a couple years but the commercials became more difficult to pass and often froze my phone. It was worth the upgrade to me. This game is very challenging and as many reviewers have noted, the hints are not answers. They really help you play the game better. If you love to play Sudoku I highly recommend this app. Unfortunately my 834,000 points from my old app did not transfer over. If the developers could help me with this I would be so grateful!! ### 5/5 — Classic Sudoku *2020-04-21, version 2.3.31* Clean and uncluttered. Great range of incremental levels. Definitely worth paying the small cost for no advertising. ### 5/5 — Best Ever *2020-03-30* I’m a long time Sudoku player. I looked high and low for one that had the option to reveal all notes for all cells at the beginning. This, besides one from an internet newspaper, has it. The newspaper gives you only one game per day. This one comes with every game if you choose that option. Putting down notes of possible numbers in a single cell is the most time consuming part of playing this game. This one saves you all that time. In addition, it lets you manage the notes...taking numbers off and putting them on. The hint feature is awesome. It takes you through each hint step by step in a tutorial way. Then to top it off, it applies that hint, if you want. Great game.
