I pay for new puzzles and enjoyed the ad free experience. Now, they have ads with no options to get ride of them. This game was my peaceful getaway. Please give us the option of no ads. If I pay for packages… idk why I need to endure ads. After years of being a loyal customer, I may have to find a new Sudoku app. Disappointing. ### 2/5 — Even More Ads *2026-03-03, version 2.00* I’ve had this app downloaded on my phone for years. I understand the app is feee so I have never been bothered by the ads that play between games or when you first open the app, but now there is also an obnoxious flashing, bright colored ad on the actual game board as you play which is very distracting while playing and also ugly. Typically, a recent update ruined it. Its been taken over by data harvesters. It immediately asks for your contacts, access to your photos, music, internet history, and more. None of this reflected in its privacy card. Reported. The opening screen requires you to agree to the terms to play. It doesn’t let you read the terms, but you’ve got to agree to them. Then I was greeted with a full screen add to play a game. I refused to play the game. It kept going for several very long minutes and refused to give me an exit screen. I finally complied, just to move forward. I played the game for the better part of 5 very long minutes, to be given the chance to download the game. So I did. I still don’t have an exit button. I’m going to delete and go play the game it advertised (after I make sure it’s not owned by the same parent company). So much potential, ruined by greed. I’d have paid probably $10 for the game because it looked so nice. No chance I’m sitting through adds and I’m certainly not renting the game for a subscription fee. Legendary fail. Possibly the worst app experience in 15 years. Wish I could attach a screenshot of the downloaded available game to go to with no method of exiting. I’ve closed and reopened the app only to have to start the process over again, with the same advertisement, which turned out to be a bait and switch add. After a replacement phone I tapped Restore and nothing happens at all. Not one puzzle was restored. It was just recently updated and these are my new comments on the puzzle. First let me say I am very disappointed. They took the clock back off. I played the game on my phone while waiting for appointments and whatever and knowing the time while I play is very important. Second, putting the yellow overlay on the crosshair is too strong. It covers up the numbers too much. All it really needed was very very very slightly darker crosshairs than it had before. Also, for the crosshairs, they need to turn on and not be blocked for existing numbers. they should turn on For all shells. Thirdly, the new design on the buttons at the bottom are very nice. I’m still putting 5 stars because I love this game. The UI is better than many other sudoku apps I’ve tried, but I don’t understand why they changed the look of it. It used to be so much classier. The new highlighting looks terrible-it’s too opaque and it’s too hard to see my notes through it. I can understand changing the font if it’s an accessibility issue for people who can’t see well, but the highlighting makes it harder to see, so I don’t get why it’s there. I would love for them to give me a button in the options screen to turn these new “features” off if I want to.
