And you can’t close them for what feels like a full minute. I was looking for something for my elderly (and very hard of hearing) mother-in-law to play while in the hospital but the ads were too frustrating for her. She kept asking how to close them and I kept saying, “You can’t yet!” I wasn’t going to charge her Apple account $20 for the premium edition so I deleted this one and found something much simpler, with less ads that only stay on the screen a few seconds. ### 4/5 — Apps *2023-12-10, version 2.7* I purchased rights to this app with no advertisement a few years ago. The ads that take FOREVER are so bad that I will just close the app and go to another one. The adds that more than the length of time I need to understand what it’s about are obnoxious. The issue is with their ad platform. They have the old typical banner ad that is 100% acceptable but any time you finish a game or move away from the game, you get a full page ad with sound that you can’t close for a good 30+ seconds. I am looking at other versions of sudoku due to this. ### 2/5 — internet? *2022-07-24, version 2.5* i love this game, i enjoy playing it and everything. i find myself just on my phone with this app fit hours! however, the only qualm i have is that i can’t stand how i have to be connected to the internet to start the game up. why? why does a sudoku game need wifi to open? when i wanted to play this game on the plan, i found that i couldn’t sbc it was stuck on the loading screen. Got an ad before even playing while trying to go into settings to change the difficulty, which apparently can’t be done. I downloaded this app maybe 7-8 years ago. The ads were not that bad. Now, I feel like I can’t even play the game because I’m watching an ad every 10 seconds. I just downloaded onto my new phone & all I’ve done is watch ads in the few minutes I’ve sat here hoping to do some sudoku. What I like about the game is that it’s customizable in the appearance & other things. It’s easy to focus on each number you’re working on throughout the puzzle. But the ads just make me feel ridiculous trying to play this. I suckered down & thought let’s just buy it but at $20??! I’d rather buy an actual sudoku book. I feel like the creator took a great game & made it purely about monetary gain. I understand that ads are needed to support the free games. However, a recent change means that the ads get in the way of actually playing the game because of their placement on the screen. The last straw today was when I couldn't get rid of a Dr. Oz ad. Every time I clicked the X, a new doctor Oz page would come up. So I deleted the app. There are plenty of other Sudoku games that aren't so annoying! ### 1/5 — Ads *2022-11-11, version 2.5* Way too many ads. They're nearly constant, at least 30 seconds each before you can skip them, and it costs $19.99 to remove them. The colors are cute and the game itself is fine. Now there are terrible ads and $19.99 to get rid of them. What a shame. ### 1/5 — Ads *2022-07-11, version 2.5* Soooo many ads. Restart a puzzle, ad. Open the app, ad. In the middle of the game, ad. These aren’t short ads either that you can skip, some are up to 45 seconds long then you have to wait again to exit out of it. If your lucky, it won’t give you another before you start the game. There’s so many other apps out there that just let you play. Now every time I try to play it the game freezes while the banner ads try to change. It is totally frustrating.
