It only has the monthly subscription. With the promised option, I would add at least one star. ### 3/5 — From photo not working with iP 14 *2023-06-20, version 2.4* Enjoy this app but after phone upgrade to iPhone 14, scan game from photos doesn’t work, sees photo but does not process into game. Still works on my older iPad. (Also tried on another iP 14 as well) ### 4/5 — Pencil marks *2020-05-17, version 2.4* If I fill in the final number on a square in a box, the pencil marked number in other squares in that box as well as squares in the corresponding rows and columns should automatically disappear. What changed? Also, if I reset a puzzle I have to clear notes in each cell. Reset should clear all notes. Now they are not showing after reset, but entering a note brings all old notes back. Overall a good app. I prefer it for solving the puzzle in my morning paper. ### 3/5 — Annoying Ad *2019-02-21, version 2.1* The game is o.k. for a bare bones Sudoku game. There is a very annoying ad for DocuSign which displays a flashing signature. It flashes almost to the rate of a strobe light. It could possibly trigger a migraine or worse for someone. I can’t even play the game when it’s flashing above. Developers, please get rid of this ad. ### 4/5 — Update Created Accessibility Issues *2019-01-22, version 2.1* Edit: The issue has been repaired, and I’m playing Sudoku again! Thank you, TapMedia, for rapid response! ———————- “Feedback and Support” doesn’t work with my app (free version), so I hope this review is read by TapMedia! Since the latest update, the bottom of the screen has a gray area that makes the bottom row of the puzzle inaccessible to view 7, 8, & 9 pencil entries. It also pushes the puzzle up too high to access the top row under the ad banner. Love Sudoku, and hope it is available for use again soon. ### 4/5 — Broken after update *2019-01-21, version 2.1* After the latest update, I can open the app, but when I try to open up a new puzzle, the app crashes. Please fix. -Edit: the issue has been fixed, so I’m changing my 1-Star review to a 4-Star review ### 3/5 — Feedback for v2 *2019-01-20, version 2.0* While the update was welcome there are few issues I have encountered. Firstly scan from photo is significantly degraded. I scan 4 sudoku daily by using screenshot. I’ve been using the app for at least three years and the scan is almost perfect. But this new version misreads numbers every time. 3, 6, and 9 are problematic. Can this get fixed? Since the sources are identical I’m assume some change to your algorithm. Secondly, the top few pixels of the grid are hidden by the menu line. For example a pencil mark for 1 shows half the number. I use large text size so that might be significant. Finally, some UI changes are not intuitive. I scan 4 screen shots. The old version had back and + at the same location. So there was less finger travel. Now menu and + are at opposite sides of the screen. Not a good design. ### 4/5 — Crashes when scanning *2018-06-07, version 1.1* Annoyingly the app crashes each time I try to scan from my camera. Works fine when scanning from a photo. Has some clever logic that knows if the puzzle is not solvable i.e. the scan got a number wrong. Forces you to check to find the error. It’s fairly easy to use, notes feature could be better, would be nice if numbers grayed out when no more left to place; but the app became useless to me when it would no longer accurately scan images:screen caps of puzzles from the newspaper. Sent in feedback, never got a response, still broke. ### 1/5 — Scam *2019-04-08, version 2.3* This sudoku app requested that I pay a $2 weekly subscription fee but did not offer any additional features or service. Felt a lot like I was being tricked into paying the app owner for no reason. Also negative reviews written from the app do not actually show up in the app store.
