I used to have this app downloaded a couple years ago and it was a great way to pass the time and stimulate the brain. The notes and controls were and are very clean and easy to use and overall this app was a great way to play sudoku. Now, while I understand that ads are a fundamental way for developers to get paid, being interrupted in the middle of a game, especially one that takes some level of concentration like sudoku, is extremely frustrating. An ad before and after each game, completely understandable. But multiple ads mid game, right when you get into a flow and start unlocking rows and columns?! Too much. Enough that I will be uninstalling. It’s sad that money is ruining what used to be the best sudoku app on the market. If you don’t mind being interrupted multiple times a game, or paying what in my opinion is way too steep of a price to remove ads, then this is the app for you. ### 2/5 — Ads *2026-08-22, version 7.18.0* Nothing like an ad popping up while trying to solve the puzzle. In a game where you’re supposed to relax and take your time, having an ad every 2-3 minutes only makes me want to close the game. But something’s off between the tournament scoring and the postcard challenge rankings. The latest tournament and the postcard challenge both started yesterday. Since then, I’ve played almost exclusively the postcard challenge and I’m leading the tournament scoreboard, with the next closest player at a little over a third of my score. The postcard challenge has three parts: 16 games, then 25, then 64, for 105 games total. I’ve finished the first two postcards and one game into the third, so 42 games. But someone has already completed all three, all 105 games, since yesterday. That’s 63 more games than me, in the same one day. But, as I said, I am leading the tournament—by almost a million points. So either someone got a huge head start, they’re getting much easier puzzles, or we’re not all playing the same version of this event. After completing every puzzle, it shows encouraging stats like “this is your 10th puzzle solved today” or “you solved this 2 minutes faster than your average” which is always nice to hear. I can also change its background color and use hints when I’m stuck.
