### 5/5 — A really fun game!

*2023-11-09, version 1.53.0*

My wife and I both play this, if I get a particularly hard random one I'd love to send it to her so she can play on her app. Is there a way to do that coming soon?

### 5/5 — Great for play and learning logic

*2023-06-06, version 1.49.1*

I sometimes get stuck, but the hints have been great to teach me how to go about figuring things out. I feel like I’ve improved over time.

### 5/5 — LOVE this game!

*2023-05-18, version 1.49.1*

The quality is very high and the playing experience is some of the best I’ve seen on iOS. Congrats to the dev team!

### 5/5 — Updated Review

*2023-05-01, version 1.48.0*

I’m updating the review to 5 stars as the developer reached out to me right away offering help. I checked everything, it’s now all good!!! I’m so relieved. I have reset all my puzzles (a few hundred of them as I purchased a lot), so that I can solve them again without losing points I wasn’t supposed to lose in the first place. Thank you!! Enjoying the game again :)

OLD: I would have happily given this game a 5-star review, but they keep deducting points for something I didn’t even do — I do not use help or hints!!! If I make a mistake, let me find it myself; only deduct points if I actually clicked the “?!” button. It’s ridiculously demotivating, especially if I click something by accident. I have purchased all the extra packages — I like the concept of the game and how it makes me think. But come on, I did not use help if I did’t use the “?!” button!!!

### 5/5 — Challenging but not frustrating

*2023-04-30, version 1.48.0*

Fantastic game. Just the right level of challenging. Easy enough that it’s an enjoyable anxiety reliever without being mind numbingly boring, and challenging enough to be engaging without being frustrating and anxiety provoking. Great job! Thanks!

### 5/5 — Great game from a developer who cares

*2023-04-18, version 1.48.0*

If you're tired of the same sudoko puzzles and need something a bit more challenging. If you like intuitive and helpful controls. If you enjoy getting feature updates. You'll love Sumaddle. Give it a try. Finish the basic pack. If you want more, the random generator is awesome!! There you can find the difficult 9x9 puzzles. Great app.

### 5/5 — Harder to learn than it looks

*2023-04-12*

Enjoying this. I would have appreciated a few more beginner complementary puzzles to really get the mechanics down. I see on another review the developer says more free puzzles have been added and now 100 free puzzles. I only count 30 all together in the sneaky, tricky, and ?? Categories. (I do wish those words weren’t so close in definition.)

However, At $.99 the packs are a good deal. I meant to buy sneaky but got clever, then meant to buy tricky and got cunning, or.. something like that… you see what I mean. Now I have plenty to learn from.

Game is well worth.

**Developer response:** Hi Idontwant12345678 and thank you for your review, very pleased to hear you're enjoying the app! So the Challenge Trail is a good place to start when you are learning how to solve the puzzles, here is where the first 30 free puzzles can be found. Then there are another 30 complimentary puzzles in the section Puzzle Sets, as you mentioned. Finally, there are a lot more free puzzles to be discovered in the free preview of Random Play. To help with learning you can also reset the puzzles and play them all again, the option for this can be found in the Options menu of each section (top-right of screen).

### 5/5 — Great Twist to Number Puzzles

*2023-04-05, version 1.47.1*

Enjoyable, just challenging enough, no glitches, easy and thoughtful interface!

### 5/5 — Next puzzle ever!

*2023-04-01, version 1.47.1*

Haven’t looked at a sudoku since finding this puzzle app. It’s very easy to use and really addictive. Different levels means you can build up your proficiency gradually.

### 5/5 — Great game

*2023-03-24, version 1.47.0*

Love it

### 5/5 — Clean, Mean, and positively Supreme!!!

*2023-03-08, version 1.46.0*

This is, hands down, THE best logic game on the App Store. Period. And it just keeps getting better! Every time I thought of something that could improve the playability of the game mechanics, such as making it so we can select all squares outside of the blocks on a row or column as well as inside, it was just an update away! I’ve spent so much time playing the largest, hardest puzzles on random mode it’s to the point where I’m now wishing for harder puzzles than I can get there! I understand 9x9 is hard to generate, but now I know it’s possible, so pleeease put more in puzzle packs!! Lots more! One thing I keep hoping to see is an option to highlight or color code the different number options like is usually possible in Sudoku apps. Doing the high grid values I can get overwhelmed by the visual input sometimes and I have often spent five full minutes staring at the screen before caving and using the help only to find that there was a row with only one 5 left or something stupid like that because I just couldn’t visually parse all the tiny numbers. Being able to highlight all 5s would have let it take me 2 seconds. This is not a case of being unable to make the logical steps toward solving the puzzle, but simply of being unable to process visually what options are available, and it makes it a bit frustrating. Another thing I’ve noticed is that, though there is always a logical next step, a lot of times when I’m stumped on an 8x8 Very Difficult it’s much easier on my score to simply pick something where only two options are available and try one, then the other to see which one ends illogically five-to-twenty steps later. Takes a lot less time than just staring and MUCH fewer points than using the help, but I’m left no wiser to the logical procedure that would have gotten me out of it. Feels like cheating, kind of, but using the help takes so many points that I would much rather spend thirty seconds going down a rabbit hole than get my score knocked down as if I spent an extra 24 minutes on the puzzle. Plus, if it’s literally just something simple I couldn’t see because the puzzle got too busy-looking it really feels like flushing my score down the drain for nothing. I have a leaderboard to conquer!!

Just yesterday, I discovered a new logic trick for my mental toolbox by finally caving and looking at the explanation. I’ve been playing this game for a year, I thought there weren’t any left! But it’s another example of how much depth there really is to this game and that it’s a wonderful way to level up your logicking if you’re like me and quite bored of Sudoku, Picture Cross and the like. The critiques that I do have are quite minor and only even become noticeable once you’re doing puzzles of the very highest difficulty. I couldn’t recommend this game more highly, especially in comparison with pretty much every single other game that first shows up as soon as you search for a “puzzle” game. 🙄 And I have! To everyone I know! But it seems every time someone is really interested, turns out they have an Android! 😫 Any ETA on when this will be available for Android devices?

Edit: Less than a month later, both of my concerns about functionality have been addressed!! They are offering 9x9 in random play now, which I had assumed couldn’t even be done, AND there’s a new highlight function!!! They got around having ridiculously long generation times by allowing there to be one or two blocks already placed at the start of the game, which I thought genius. I’m so incredibly impressed and pleased with these developers and the time and care they put into making this game the most playable, glitch-free and fun logic game out there, I can’t tell you. Now all I need is to be able to share it with my friends that use Android! 😁

### 5/5 — Synced Progress Between Devices

*2023-03-08, version 1.46.0*

I would love it if I could start a game/challenge trail on one device and pick it up on another. Normally Game Center games work like this. Is this a bug or a feature not yet available? Love this game.

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2023-03-07, version 1.46.0*

I don’t normally leave reviews, but I’m so impressed with this app that I had to in this case! Not only is the interface nicely intuitive, the help is also incredibly helpful. I used it to go from ‘I can barely complete a beginner puzzle’ to thoroughly enjoying the ‘very difficult’ rated puzzles. Definitely my favorite puzzle app! Please make more challenge packs!

### 5/5 — Best brain workout

*2023-01-30, version 1.43.0*

Two thumbs up!

### 5/5 — Beautiful implementation of a great puzzle format

*2023-01-27, version 1.43.0*

Lots of thoughtful help that makes solving these bite-sized puzzles great fun.

### 5/5 — Amazing game

*2023-01-25, version 1.43.0*

Combining concepts from Sudoku and Kakuro but yet such a simple and addicting game. Worth playing and a great mins stimulant.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — What a joke

*2023-10-25, version 1.53.0*

Good game! $25 for puzzle generator and all packs? For a number game? Get real. You can get any number of high quality console games with story, graphics, game design, etc for well under that price.

### 1/5 — Stupid

*2021-12-13, version 1.21.0*

Realllllly sorry but this is simply horrible, the puzzles are absolutely not intuitive or logical and the clues are more mystic than the actual puzzles.

### 2/5 — Very difficult, training and help not very useful

*2022-07-22, version 1.32.1*

I find the game extremely difficult and the help feature isn’t very robust to help me grasp what I’m supposed to do.

### 2/5 — No instructions

*2021-05-06, version 1.7*

I love this type of puzzle game, but this one is pretty much impossible to learn. The tutorial tells you what the rules are, but doesn’t actually give you any hints about HOW to solve the grids. The hints are meaningless. At least sudoku has strategy, this just feels like guessing. Oh well.

### 3/5 — Fun game but it kind of solves itself

*2025-09-07, version 1.64.2*

The game itself is fun! It could be a nice challenge and a great brain teaser, if it didn’t give you all the answers.

When you click a box to fill it, it shows all the number options you can choose inside that box. The issue is when you have already used that number in the row or column, it takes that number out the box and only shows available numbers. After you solve a few numbers, it pretty much has the puzzle solved for you. I don’t want a hint unless I have trouble solving the puzzle but you get one with every box. There is no way to turn this off. I messaged support to ask if I was just missing a setting and they confirmed it can’t be turned off.

Because you can use as many hints as you need, this function just feels kind of in the way and for no reason. With the 5x5 puzzles when you figure out 1 or 2 boxes, the game gives you the rest of the answers. There is still a good challenge to the 7x7 ones if you can ignore the hints! I’m kind of forcing myself to ignore the hints but then my adhd kicks in and I can’t help but notice, and it just kind of is annoying.

If it weren’t for that this would probably be my favorite number puzzle game! I considered paying for the extra puzzles when I finish the free ones but I just can’t pay for it to just give me the answers.

If this doesn’t bother you then you will find this game fun for sure!!

### 4/5 — Fun game but please let us clear puzzles without reset all!!

*2025-01-22, version 1.61.1*

So I enjoy this game a lot, the concept is fun and it’s a good mental workout, the app works well, no obnoxious ads which is rare these days, and I have purchased several puzzle packs and have fun going through them! I have 4 sets of the scary level puzzles, and one feature I wish this app had would be the ability to go back and clear/reset only certain puzzle sets or individual puzzles. Sometimes I solve a few puzzles using hints, and I wish we could see which ones we’ve solved with hints and have the option to clear those and try again, without having to use the “reset all” button. I’ve played through the first pack of the scary level puzzles WAY too often because I wanted to play through some of my purchased packs again. I’m sure other people out there want to play their purchased puzzles more than once without having to clear and replay the sample puzzles again.

If you can add this feature so we can clear certain puzzles after completing them to try them again, I’d rate 5 stars!!! Part of the fun is seeing if you can improve your scores/times, but having to clear all 4 sets of puzzles when there are maybe 6 I wanted to retry can be a hassle, since the game automatically tries to make me play them in order when using the next puzzle button.

### 4/5 — Has a pay wall

*2024-10-18, version 1.60.1*

Fun game without ads but you only get a certain number of puzzles before you hit a paywall and it’s $9.99 to continue. I mean, it makes sense if they aren’t making money through ads so they still get a good review. But I finished them all in one day fyi

### 4/5 — More puzzles please!

*2022-09-27, version 1.37.1*

Sumaddle is a great puzzle game for anyone who enjoys sudoku, hanji, or other similar grid-based logic puzzles. In fact, I think it’s made me better at sudoku! For me, Sumaddle was a great way to fill in slack periods at work or relax with at home.

The main downside is that it’s quite a short game - there aren’t that many puzzles, even if you buy all the extra level packs. However, I appreciate that thought has been put into each level so that you can solve every puzzle using logic alone, and that setting puzzles like this takes time and effort. Hopefully more content will be added in the future.

My other criticism of the game is that you can only do each puzzle once. To some extent it also ‘punishes’ you for tapping the hints button during a puzzle, even if only to quickly check that you haven’t made any mistakes. If you so much as touch the hints button, points away deducted and you are told that you could have earned more, even if the puzzle had taken you longer to solve. This wouldn’t be so bad if you were allowed to do the puzzles again and try and beat your time or not use hints, but as it is it’s a bit frustrating.

None of this should put anyone off from downloading Sumaddle, though. It’s a treat to find a fresh- feeling puzzle game with real thought put into the design, rather than one that feels like it’s only been made to cater for a market. The highlight is that there are NO INTRUSIVE ADS, and all in-app purchases are optional: you can beat the game without spending anything.

### 4/5 — Fun and Challenging

*2022-06-04, version 1.31.0*

The puzzles are fun and get challenging quickly. I really enjoyed playing it. Just finished the challenges and I wish there were more! If there were more puzzles I would rate it five stars. I’m glad to report there are not a ton of adds.

### 4/5 — My new favourite

*2022-02-26, version 1.26.0*

I love number puzzles and logic problems and am forever looking for new challenges. I came across Sumaddle by chance but really glad I did. It is my new favourite. I really like how it takes you slowly on a journey from the easiest levels right up to the hardest and you kind of grow with the game. I now just do the hardest games which I wouldn’t have thought at the start. It is just the right level for me, a real challenge that makes you think but one where you know if you use logic you will get there in the end no matter how long it takes. I highly recommend it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2025-08-21, version 1.64.2*

I wish there were be more game like this!

### 5/5 — Excellent logic game. Clean design.

*2025-05-22, version 1.64.0*

I love a good logic game, and this is my new favourite. Fair prices too. No ads or other rubbish.

### 5/5 — Brilliant puzzle game

*2025-04-26, version 1.63.0*

So satisfying, like Sudoku, like Wordle, like Codewords, like Betweenle, I love these puzzles!

### 5/5 — obsessive

*2025-04-22, version 1.63.0*

i play this game obsessively! it’s somewhat difficult to learn at first, but once you understand how to solve the puzzles, it’s addicting. you can toggle the size and difficulty of the random puzzles, or you can try their packs for a few bucks—i’ve gotten every single one. plus, it’s available offline, so it’s a perfect airplane game. one of my all time favorites!!!

### 5/5 — Honestly great

*2025-03-05, version 1.62.1*

This became one of my go to games! Very well made and can really make you think.

### 5/5 — Best Puzzle Game I’ve Ever Played

*2025-01-31, version 1.61.1*

I really enjoy puzzle games. Very few games force me to think outside the box though. That is, until I stumbled upon this gem.

I honestly don’t think there’s a single flaw in this game. It’s such a simple idea, that was executed so incredibly well. Easy to learn, hard to master. I like to believe I’m pretty good at this game, and routinely play higher difficulty levels. However, unlike most games, this one always manages to stump me again and again.

I highly recommend anyone who enjoys the free puzzles to purchase the puzzle generator. It’s super customizable, to make it as easy or as hard as you want and you’ll never run out of puzzles to solve.

Shame on you developer for making such an addicting game!! Jokes aside, I wish we had more masterpieces like this.

### 5/5 — Favorite game on iOS

*2024-11-13, version 1.60.1*

I love puzzle games and frequently download ones I find to see how they are. Usually, I end up deleting the apps after about a week or two because they are really clunky or have an abundance of ad pop ups. Not only are these puzzles really fun and engaging, but the design of the app is top tier. It is probably the sleekest app I have on my phone/iPad…. Easy interface and great hint system with explanations for the really difficult puzzles. Just a fantastic app all around.

### 5/5 — Best Puzzle Game Out There

*2024-08-22, version 1.59.2*

I play a lot of different types of puzzles and this one is the one I always come back to. I bought the puzzle generator and it was totally worth it. It I the perfect brain break.

### 5/5 — Super stimulating user-friendly puzzle solving

*2024-04-24, version 1.56.2*

It’s a very satisfying logical game, a bit like Sudoku, but either addition of a spatial dimension with trying to find where the blocks may fit. Super flexible in terms of difficulty levels, and having a puzzle generator you can buy means endless puzzles.
Simple yet amazingly variable and enjoyable, super game.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2024-04-23, version 1.56.2*

Wish there were more levels in the challenge trail & the ability to turn off hints. All in all awesome game, thanks.
