## What is Sumi?

Turn your Japan trip photos into keepsakes — the kanji of the places you visited, typeset in ink.

Sumi reads the compass and your photo's GPS to identify which landmark you're facing. Then it sets the place name in refined Japanese typography: vertical or horizontal mincho, generous margins, warm off-white ink, a hairline rule, and a small Latin caption with the readable address. The result looks like a high-end travel poster — a souvenir you made yourself, not something bought at a gift shop.

HOW IT WORKS

Point your camera at a shrine gate, a tower, a historic street. Sumi detects the landmark — not where you're standing, but what you're looking at. Alternatively, import any GPS-tagged photo from your library. The kanji appears. Adjust the edge style. Save or share.
