## What is Summit Line?

Most training apps are built for the road and then have a mountain photo slapped on the icon. Summit Line is the other way around. It's built for trail and ultra from the ground up.

This is for the runners counting vert instead of just miles, doing cutoff math in their heads at 2am, and trying to figure out how many carbs an hour they can actually keep down at mile 60.

Tell it your goal race and it builds you a real plan. Week by week, workout by workout, worked back from race day and shaped around the fitness you've actually got right now. Your watch syncs your runs in and the plan adjusts, so it keeps up as you get fitter, or as work and life get in the way.

Every morning you get a straight read on where you stand: fresh, flat, or digging yourself into a hole. No hype, no confetti for getting out of bed. Just the number and what it means for the run in front of you.

And it handles the stuff that actually matters once the trail tips up: grade-adjusted pace so a climb can't lie to you, fueling and pacing set for your race instead of a road marathon, and your fitness, fatigue, and form tracked across the whole build.

Free to start. Point it at a race and you'll have your plan today.

### 5/5 — Useful App

*2026-07-14*

A much more in-depth training app than others I’ve used for trail/ultra prep. The daily readiness score has been genuinely useful, it caught overreaching before I did, twice. Watch sync (Garmin) has been reliable, and the plan adjusts intelligently when I miss a session instead of just leaving a gap.

Easy to use and more informative than anything else I’ve tried for trail-specific training.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-07-21

Record runs right in the app. GPS tracking with live distance, pace, and vert, no watch needed, and your run lands in your log with honest terrain-based elevation.

Your plan now tells you the truth about your week. Ahead, on track, or behind based on what the plan actually scheduled through today, a recap when the week wraps, and workouts that go beyond the plan get called out for what they are.

Also in this update: collapsible plan weeks for faster scrolling, plan tuning moved onto the plan page, strength days you can add to any plan day, and layout fixes across iPhone sizes.

### 1.3 — 2026-07-14

Race day got a full rebuild.

- The race screen is now a stack of cards. Plan, course, fueling, crew, and results each have their own place.
- The course profile is a full instrument. Drag across it to see grade, climb, and your projected pace at any point on the course.
- The race plan is a leg by leg timeline between aid stations with pacing, fueling, and cutoff math.
- Charts no longer fight the page. Scrolling moves the page, and a sideways drag scrubs the chart.
- Dozens of fixes and polish across every screen.

### 1.2 — 2026-07-14

Summit Line, redesigned from the ground up.

Every screen now opens with the number that matters. Your plan carries a live fitness strip and a timeline that runs from today to race day. Runs open on the map, with traces colored by grade. Progress is three honest instruments: your fitness curve projected to race morning, planned versus logged mileage, and your on-plan streak. Finish a run and the app stamps what you earned: longest run ever, biggest vert day, another week on plan.

Also new: Summit Line Premium subscriptions, monthly or annual.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-10

A smoother start. Connect your watch first, lock in your race, and the plan gets built from your own running instead of a blank slate.

- New guided setup on first sign-in: watch, race, plan, in that order
- Course on file: if we already have your race's course, attach it with one tap
- The plan now waits for your run history to land before it builds, and refines itself automatically once your full history finishes importing
- Clearer notes while your watch history is still importing
- Small fixes across setup and the plan reveal

### 1.0 — 2026-07-08

No release notes.
