Being hypothetical here but what if I was renting out to somebody and they don’t see who it is without a snapshot there’s no logic The signal is average thankfully we have manual keys for it and hopefully there’s some improvements ### 2/5 — Works…most of the time. *2026-04-19, version 3.2.6* I like this app, but don’t count on it to open the gate every time. Something is buggy about once a week. Today it is a white screen. ### 1/5 — ZERO STARS *2025-07-05, version 3.2.4* This is the most unreliable app I have on my phone and had I known this., I would’ve never ever went with this for my electronic home gate. Half the time it’s off-line the other half of the time it’s serendipitously logs you out. Always when someone’s at the gate always when it’s an important package or service. The price is absolutely insane considering it works about 50% of the time. I cannot in good conscience. I could almost understand if you all did any of the work or security with the devices, but you do nothing but charge ridiculous prices just to use the stupid devices, which seems to not work more than it works. As far as the new and improved app??? What app??? I’ve downloaded everything with summit controller and there’s no app that I find for the ascent x1. Only thing I find is sierra and it won’t work. So I have to go to my browser to use any features. . Probably the biggest disappointment with this revision is the loss of the ability to name the person you’re giving an access code to. All you see is the number, so when you want to revoke it, good luck on remembering which number it was. So STUPID. I will be looking for alternatives, hope I am able to find something before they start charging for each opening. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Do not buy *2026-07-04, version 4.0* This app is awful!!!! It is not user friendly and the response for help is slow. I pay a monthly fee for something that doesn’t allow my friends to open my gate with the access code. It’s Bs. I’ve downloaded the app, removed, reinstalled, etc. nothing… ### 1/5 — Extreme Security Breech *2026-04-17, version 3.2.6* I began having issues with my phone randomly calling people from my contacts about 7 months ago. Today I deleted the app. I tried to FaceTime my husband from my phone to his iPad and it kept connecting to Summit instead. It’s supposed to be just a gate app. No company should have that access to my phone. Obviously hacked! ### 1/5 — App crashes *2026-03-20, version 3.2.6* This system is a recent “upgrade” for my neighborhood. The app keeps crashing so I get a white screen and no options to open the gate. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and restarted my phone with no resolution. ### 1/5 — Really frustrating *2026-03-12, version 3.2.6* Very low frills app and doesn’t provide access to the camera on the gate dialer. Doesn’t respond consistently to opening commands which is super frustrating. ### 1/5 — Worst Gate system *2026-02-23, version 3.2.6* This is the worst gate system. It is down every other month pretty much. Very undependable for the amount of money we paid for the system and the monthly fees. Complete rip off. Almost always takes at least three presses to latch, but today it won’t latch at all. You have to slide all the way even if you do it doesn’t open. It has a delay. It should just be a top equals a click to open we shouldn’t be sliding. These hold to open, hold to release and all of that shouldn’t be happening. It’s a lot. Unnecessary ### 1/5 — Worse now *2025-08-03, version 3.2.4* The first version of the app was bad now it takes more steps and more time to open our gate. If your finger moves in the slightest you have to start over. Takes forever to show if the gate is open or closed and you have to refresh constantly.
