## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-15

Free summaries now go further. A summary counts against your free allowance only when you open one — not when SumSpot fetches it in the background. The pages you pass through on the way to an article, like search results, redirects and sign-in steps, no longer cost you anything, and rereading a summary you've already
opened is still free.

There are also more free summaries to start with.

A summary that fails now offers Try Again instead of leaving a button that does nothing. Requests that never get an answer are given up on rather than hanging forever, so a dropped connection
is always something you can recover from.

The toolbar popup no longer reports a problem when there isn't one. It now shows your summary or the subscribe prompt, whichever
fits the page.

### 1.0.7 — 2026-08-07

Fewer dead ends: retry a failed summary, see what's left, and subscribe without hunting for it.

• Retry without reloading - if a summary fails, you can retry it from the launcher instead of refreshing the page. Errors now say which part failed: couldn't reach the service, couldn't summarize the page, or couldn't display the result.
• Know where you stand - the overlay shows how many free summaries you have left, and only brings it up as you get near the end rather than on every single summary.
• Subscribe in one step - the prompt in the overlay opens the subscription screen directly, instead of leaving you to go find it.
• Reread from the toolbar - open the SumSpot popup to see a summary you've already generated on that page, whether or not you subscribe.
• Subscription status you can trust - a subscription that has lapsed is no longer treated as an active one, and expired or billing-problem subscriptions now explain themselves instead of failing quietly.
• The subscribe button responds the moment you tap it, so a slow connection no longer looks like a button that doesn't work.
• The app now tells you where to switch the Safari extension on, and you can rate SumSpot from the main screen.

### 1.0.6 — 2026-08-01

Try it free, and enjoy easier-to-read summaries.

• 5 free summaries — see what SumSpot does before you subscribe. Revisiting a page you've already summarized is always free.
• Clearer summaries — a cleaner, easier-to-read layout with proper bullet points, so you can skim an article in seconds.
• Read the whole thing — long summaries now scroll smoothly, so nothing gets cut off.
• Quick to dismiss — swipe down or tap Close to get back to your page, and a new header shows the source and how much reading time you just saved.
