You can’t even use GPS as the location is not logged, all you can do is zoom around on the map until you locate it. Terrible for remote shoots. Next to useless when you’re trying to do a previz for a location that’s not near any major landmarks. **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. The app does support entering GPS coordinates directly in three different formats, allowing you to navigate to locations that aren’t listed in the database. It’s surprising how accurate the app is at placing the sun in the sky. It’s very helpful for gardening when you’re trying to find how much sun a spot will get during the day. However, users must be careful. When you give permission to access the camera for AR mode, you’re giving permission to access at all times. I first noticed when I closed the app in the garden, locked my phone and put it in my pocket and went inside. Then I opened the phone to use safari at my kitchen table the. Locked the phone again. An hour later I went back outside and reopened the app from the apps tray and the image that was on the AR screen was my kitchen table before the camera turned back on. This is a terrible breach of privacy. Always make sure to close the app when you’re done using it. The images are well over 1 yr old/maybe 2 yrs?! still showing massive trees that are no longer in my yard. Kind of hard to track the Sun in the current yard or use this app for planning when the images are so old that I can’t use it. I contacted them to inquire about this and was told “The imagery is never real time but it does not impact the calculations at all.” Oh really? The “customer support” doesn’t even know how the app works. So giant trees (that aren’t there) blocking the sun (on the app) when there is NO tree…. Yeah the images do matter!! Very useful for planning the ventilation / shading of our property (which is a sun trap - this is a good thing most of the year but during a heatwave this is a very useful tool).
