### 2/5 — Works decently but very bright

*2026-04-20, version 2.5.0*

Please add a dark mode. Most of the time this app is being opened in the evening and the white screen is very jarring.

### 2/5 — Laggy broken app with weird restrictions

*2025-12-22, version 2.5.0*

The app is so laggy and ghe UI elements unresponsive enough that you sometimes accidentally press the button more than once. As soon as you do that, the system locks you out from using remote control for 2 hours or until you get up and physically use the control box. You might as well just use the control box at that point.

### 1/5 — New app can’t program

*2025-12-17, version 2.5.0*

We love our programmable blanket and with the old app we could set a schedule for when blanket goes on, off, and the heat setting. I just updated to this new app and don’t like it at all! There is still the schedule feature but within an hour of your programmed turn on time, you need to go to the device and push a button confirming you want blanket on. This totally defeats the purpose of having a programmable item if I need to go upstairs and push a button on the device. What’s the difference between that and just turning it on.

### 1/5 — Poorly executed

*2025-12-15, version 2.5.0*

The app is very poorly designed. It seems like the people who designed the app never actually use it. Also, it’s terribly buggy and the communication is highly unreliable.

### 2/5 — Weird “rules” for using *MY* blanket

*2025-12-06, version 2.5.0*

If I accidentally hit the power button for my side on the app, it displays a message that you will now not be able to turn it back on again for 2hrs unless you bypass by pressing the “tick” button on the wired remote, which is on my partner’s side. A time lock?? Seriously?! The power button in the app is one of the most prominent buttons and there’s no “Are you sure?”, it just turns it off and then quietly mocks you that you now cannot use it. Are you trying to cause rifts in people’s relationships?? What were you guys smoking?? This is the dumbest, most inconvenient thing! I should be able to operate *MY* blanket however I want! Take a UX course or something, yeesh.

### 1/5 — No real Alexa control

*2025-12-05, version 2.5.0*

Last sunbeam we had could be controlled by Alexa to turn on either side of the bed and to a desired level. Sun beam 2 has a lot of bugs they need to be fixed. Look at your ratings 1.6 stars? Tech department should be embarrassed!!!

### 1/5 — Does NOT Work

*2025-11-14, version 2.5.0*

App doesn’t work at all. Doesn’t connect or control the bedding no matter what I try. Worked briefly for like 5 mins and quit. I’ve done everything correct. Using iPhone 17 Pro Max. Fix this app!!!!

### 1/5 — Terrible Interface

*2025-11-11, version 2.5.0*

The app is one of the worst, if not THE worst to deal with. I’ve set a schedule for each side of the bed and each evening it’s still a crapshoot whether or not the program is working.

### 1/5 — The other app was better

*2025-10-26, version 2.0.2*

This is a refresh of the other ap. I understand the safety features of running the bedding on high for 10 hours, I don't want to do that anyways.

My problem is when I turn the bedding off when it is on low. It will not allow me to turn it back on. I press the power button and I just want to have it running on low, and it will not.
Disappointed with this system.

### 1/5 — Awful!

*2025-10-15, version 2.0.2*

This is an awful app. It doesn’t work properly, is unreliable, idiotic by design and apparently Sunbeam doesn’t care. So why give them your money?

### 1/5 — Literal trash

*2025-10-07, version 2.0.2*

Never works, can’t preheat, can’t even turn it on.

### 1/5 — Fix the voice controls

*2025-03-30, version 2.0.2*

The only thing you can do with the S2 app is turn the pad on off as well as set a timer. As opposed to the pads that worked with the original app you could at least set the heat level in addition to the other commands. Also, as many other people have mentioned get rid of "the safety" where it automatically lowers the heat level down to four if it had been set above it originally when turned on via voice. That is the whole purpose of the voice interface, to act just as if we were using the control by the bed. Stop acting as if we are not adult enough to be able to adjust the heat ourselves if it gets too warm. I think sunbeam stopped working on making this a good product via its third-party contractors long time ago.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-03-04, version 2.0.2*

Schedules don’t work, app control isn’t accurate to what the blanket is doing. Great job at releasing a terrible app, and making me lose my will to live. 👍🏼

### 3/5 — Option Request

*2025-03-02, version 2.0.2*

Can you give us the option to turn off the reminder that pops up with the ☑️ every time we open and close the app.

### 1/5 — Stoped working

*2025-02-25, version 2.0.2*

Once I add the device, it works just for one click. After that, I cannot make it to work if I remove the device and add it again, it will work for one more trick.

### 1/5 — Scene doesn't work

*2025-02-11, version 2.0.2*

Sent numerous emails to support. The schedule hasn't worked since I got it. Mattress pad itself is awesome! App works to turn it on but the "scene" feature(if it's below x degrees turn on side A or B)...
Well let's just say you should just figure on you scheduling your finger to open the app and turn it on 🤦‍♂️

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Worked great now it doesn’t

*2026-07-10, version 2.5.0*

This app worked great for over two years, but recently in the timer option isn’t working. If forever stays on 1m. Schedules are also not working.

### 1/5 — App no longer works

*2026-06-13, version 2.5.0*

After the newest Apple update the app no longer works. I really hope it is fixed soon.

### 1/5 — Great product, horrible software in the app.

*2026-04-16, version 2.5.0*

I’m not sure who designed this app, but it seems as though they’ve never used any other product with an app in their life. I’ve suffered though some terrible interfaces over the years but this app wins the booby prize for the most unintuitive and buggy for a product that I think I’ve ever run across.

The same futility as nailing jello to a wall, or trying to fill a swimming pool with a shot glass.

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2026-03-08, version 2.5.0*

The preheat function doesn't work, the schedule function doesn't work. I will never buy another Sunbeam product again.

### 1/5 — Never works

*2026-01-14, version 2.5.0*

This app never works!

### 1/5 — App is worthless

*2026-01-13, version 2.5.0*

Bought this for the sole purpose of setting a schedule. But once the schedule ends you must wait 2 hours before you can control the blanket again with your phone. The most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard of. Also the blanket will sometimes stay on all night even though both the app and the controller indicate that it is off.

### 1/5 — Annoying

*2026-01-05, version 2.5.0*

It is difficult to put into words just how terrible this app is.

As many others have noted, the app has arbitrary restrictions that make it a pain to use or require you to press a button on the controller defeating the whole purpose of the app.

Worse, when integrated with Google home there isn’t even any way to tell that it’s not working- the mattress pad reports that it’s on but it won’t turn on for 2 hours unless you go upstairs, fish out the legacy controller from behind the bed, and press a button.

Sunbeam: a successful connected product never requires you to use the physical controller. Like drop it behind the bed and forget about it. If you need to use the controller for basic functions then it’s not really connected at all.

### 1/5 — Annoying

*2025-12-31*

### 1/5 — Are you serious?

*2025-12-23, version 2.5.0*

Most unintuitive app I’ve ever seen. Completely useless.

### 1/5 — Stupid safety feature

*2025-12-22, version 2.5.0*

SUNBEAM PLEASE CONSIDER HAVING THE USER PRESS A SECOND BUTTON ON THE APP OR ENTER A PASSCODE ON TO CONFIRM PRESENCE AND REINSTATE APP USE (rather than having to find the wired remote and press a button on it). The safety feature doesn’t allow someone that gets hot and cold often to toggle back and forth between on and off on their phone. It renders the app useless.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Wonderful bed warmer

*2025-12-10, version 2.5.0*

There’s nothing like slipping into a warm pre-heated bed on a cold New England night. I’ve had this bed warmer for 2 years now and it’s still one of my favorite things. The new app has guardrails against overheating that I appreciate, but honestly they don’t affect me because I a rarely need more than a 3 to stay toasty warm!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2025-12-08, version 2.5.0*

This app works great. All the complaints are because it cuts back to 5 if its set to be hotter than that using the app. If you need it hotter than 5 go to the doctor because you have issues. The controls are great and given there are so few options available for wifi control of a blanket i give this 2 warm thumbs up.

### 5/5 — Terrific Bed warmers

*2025-10-25, version 2.0.2*

Love our bed warmers. Bought one to try it out and my wife loved it so much. I put him in all four bedrooms for guests. Then my brother-in-law who was a guest bought one for his house in Colorado and my father-in-law bought one for his house in the Chicagoland area. Great on the cold winter nights when you wanna keep the heat low. It’s nice to be able to turn the bed warmer on from a distance in the winter so the bed is warm when you get there. I definitely recommend this product.

### 5/5 — Works Great!

*2024-01-28, version 1.0*

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. The app works as intended and I haven’t had any issues at all.

### 5/5 — People complain about safety features!

*2024-01-24, version 1.0*

Everyone complaining about the inconvenience of having to press the button when you operate it remotely must not care about their safety. The instructions clearly spell out what they call the “presence” feature. In other words you have to tell the system, “yes, I’m here”. It’s for your safety! Since you can activate the blanket from anywhere that your phone has internet, it doesn’t know if you are in the house, or pre-heating your blanket before you get home. Imagine if your plans changed, and you forgot about your blanket. You certainly don’t want it running on High for 10 hours!!! So for your safety, if you turn it on remotely and don’t confirm your presence within an hour (more than enough time to preheat!) it while kick down to level 4 - still very warm!
Quit your complaining!

### 5/5 — App is nice addition

*2024-01-03, version 1.0*

I had purchased the non-Wi-Fi version (originally I did not think it was necessary), but Walmart substituted it. It took less than five minutes to scan the QR code, download the app and connect the blanket. It functions great and glad I got the substitution.

### 5/5 — Easy

*2023-12-09, version 1.0*

Set up was easy to follow using the manual. I have been able to use my app to turn on the heat several times with no problems. I turn it off at the base controller. Love it!!

### 5/5 — Works perfectly

*2023-12-07, version 1.0*

All I can say is these reviews must all be user error because I have this app working as it should on 3 devices. It helps to read the manual and explore the app. Every issue listed in the reviews is user error. The app works just fine.

### 5/5 — Ignore the bad reviews

*2023-12-03, version 1.0*

I just have to assume the issues people are having are user error because the app does everything it’s supposed to do. Turns on the blanket (though I recommend a schedule for a warm bed at night when you get in) and allows you to control the temp and timer and all that. Even allows multiple people to control the blanket at a time.

Maybe the bad reviews are from an earlier build of the app because i don’t have any app crashes or freezes and my blanket always turns on with the selected schedule.

### 3/5 — Going to be as fair as possible

*2026-01-01, version 2.5.0*

Pros:
- The app does connect easily to my blanket.
- I can control the temperature sometimes which is nice.
- The app has an acceptable look and style.

Cons:
- The schedule doesn’t work.
- When the schedule turns on the blanket it is not the correct temperature/ duration
- can’t increase the temperature past 4 without pressing a button on the physical controller which mitigates the value of having an app.
-when I set the time to stay on - 24 hours, the bed turns off and does not stay on.
