### 2/5 — Great when it works

*2025-05-04, version 1.0.5*

Annoying issues with the app and now it simply doesn’t work. It will only let me select side A. Not both, or B. This is just happening all of a sudden.

Also, why does the app force you use the actual controller attached to the blanket after a while to change temp versus let you do what you want with the app?

Unnecessary and not user friendly at all to force this. Annoying actually.

### 2/5 — Thoughtless Design

*2025-01-26*

Why the heck doesn’t this app have dark mode? It’s the middle of the night and I try to adjust my bed, only to be blinded by this BRIGHT WHITE COLOR SCHEME. Also, when turning on the timer (ie having the heated bed turn off after a certain period of time), why the heck does it default to 24 hours and make me scroll through 21 options to get to what I would think is the most common setting of 30 minutes? Please put some more thought into your UI design.

### 2/5 — Schedule is still flaky

*2024-12-31*

We’ve had the blanket for a year now and although the app has always worked fine for remote control, its scheduling feature has always been flaky; trying to get different levels on the two different sides of the blanket often didn’t work, and now the schedule simply won’t update at all - no matter what the app shows, the blanket controls still use the old schedule that I thought I’d changed (but other remote control features in the app still work fine).

### 2/5 — We only need to see your “Press ✅” warning once

*2024-02-18*

The mattress pad is 5/5, but the app design is infuriating. It gives you a warning that, if you set it higher than 5/10 heat setting you have to press a physical button to make it stay on after an hour. Totally reasonable, could be a fire hazard otherwise. But it gives you the same warning, and makes you click “OK” EVERY TIME. I own the mattress pad, I’ve turned it on with my phone dozens of times, I know what the warning says. There should be some way to dismiss it permanently.

### 4/5 — Unable to save schedules on iPad mini 5

*2024-02-14, version 1.0.5*

Title says it all. I could add and toggle on a schedule, but when I restart the app, all my schedules get wiped. The schedule list becomes empty. Luckily, I also have an old iPhone I rarely use, and I tried doing the same thing and my schedule stayed even after restarting it. Since both my devices share the same Sunbeam account, the schedule also transferred to my iPad app. I hope they fix this because I was ready to return the blanket, since the scheduling was one of the most important reasons I bought it. Until they fix it, you can try installing the app on another device, login to the same account and try saving a schedule there. You can also try using Alexa or Google Home to set a routine to turn on or off the blanket. If you're having similar issues as I did, I hope this was helpful and good luck!

### 2/5 — Scheduling Function Issues

*2024-01-17*

Scheduling function suddenly stopped working, I suspect after the last app update. I tried deleting and recreating schedules, deleting and recreating the device, deleting and reinstalling the app. Nothing helped… until I tried holding down the check button on the controller until the WiFi symbol started to flash (about 10 sec). Then I power-cycled the controller and set the device up like it was brand new. Then schedules started working again. We will see how long this fix lasts.

### 3/5 — Schedule is flaky

*2024-01-03*

Overall it’s a good app, works as expected, and is mostly easy to use. But when I set up a daily schedule, it didn’t work consistently. My schedule had one entry with both sides of the blanket on the same temp for an hour, followed by two entries for different temps on each side for the next hour. The first hour always worked reliably but the second hour usually would end up with both sides at the same temp, instead of at different ones as the schedule called for. It was unpredictable. Since there wasn’t much difference between the temps anyway, I just changed to a simpler schedule with only two “both sides” entries. The only other problem I’ve run into is that if I unplug the blanket, usually the schedules are erased. That’s dumb; if the blanket can’t save it then the app should instead.

### 1/5 — App will not pair with Sunbeam Wi-Fi heated mattress pad

*2023-11-19, version 1.0.5*

I have followed all the instructions, gone to the online help and follow those instructions, and the app keeps telling me that it does not support this device. This is a brand new, Sunbeam, Wi-Fi enabled heated mattress pad.

### 1/5 — Schedule not working

*2023-11-01, version 1.0.5*

The schedule feature on the app does not work. It would be nice not to have to remember to turn the blanket on an hour before bed.

### 1/5 — Do not upgrade! They are now requiring your email address and a login!

*2023-10-25*

When I originally purchased this product the app did not require an email address and login
It just worked
Now it makes you sign up with an email and they also don’t allow you to use Apple’s hidden email service either
What a joke

### 1/5 — Bad before but worse now

*2023-10-06, version 1.0.2*

Can’t get it to connect

### 1/5 — Was not able to connect to Eero WiFi 6

*2023-10-03*

I’m a wireless network engineer and I have been trying to connect the Sunbeam WiFi blanket to my WiFi. I forced 2.4 GHZ, enabled legacy mode for devices that can’t connect to WiFi 6 routers. I did capture packets and couldn’t get this blanket to connect. At one point I was able to get it to connect to the wireless but the app wouldn’t recognize the connection. Found out it was a Toya WiFi device. Downloaded the Toya app and was able to connect the blanket within 30 seconds. Seems like the Toya app has the same functionality.

### 3/5 — Loses schedule when unplugged

*2023-09-29*

The app was a bit tricky to pair with the mattress pad the first time, complaining that Bluetooth was off when it was not, but after that it worked fine. It was pretty easy to set up schedules and they worked reliably. But when I had to unplug the pad briefly, when I plugged it back in, even though the app could still control it, all of my schedules had disappeared.

### 4/5 — Pairing is a pain

*2023-09-25*

Getting this to pair with my mattress pad was fiddly. Even though my Bluetooth was on, it kept saying it was off (or maybe the message about Bluetooth is just badly worded and it was only intended to be a reminder). Then when I got past that, I got a timeout error. But after a couple of tries I got everything going, and the rest of the app is pretty simple. Only other bug I noticed is that although I could select a time in AM/PM format, once the schedule is set up, it uses 24 hour format.

### 3/5 — Good functionality but laggy and clunky

*2023-09-19*

Love being able to turn on the bed heater before bedtime remotely, but there are a couple of real dumb issues. 1) it takes several seconds to update status from the last time you opened the app and 2) the splash screen that requires you to click “got it” before EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU SET IT is stupid, ask once and assume I can remember. I’d rate the heater itself higher, but the app isn’t a model of good software.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2023-08-20, version 1.0.2*

Unless you push buttons on wired controller, it doesn’t work. What’s the point? I was hoping it would allow me to be outside house and ore-warm bed.

### 2/5 — Needs work

*2023-07-11, version 1.0.2*

Scheduling section of the app does not work at all. Have to turn it on manually every time I want to use it.

### 1/5 — Worked until this week

*2023-04-30*

App worked until this week. Then blanket went offline and wouldn’t reconnect. Followed instructions to delete & reinstall blanket. App refuses to install. Times out & says cannot connect to Wi-Fi or router. App is not giving me the option to connect manually as it did before. Tried to report a problem through App Store but it will not let me.
This app is like Sunbeam Products as of last few years. Works for a bit then dies with no customer support from company.

### 4/5 — Great but forgets your timer setting each time

*2023-04-13, version 1.0.2*

Whenever I turn on my bedding, either from the app or from the controller, I want it to use the same timer setting I applied last time. This is not currently possible, as it forces you to use the app to set the timer each time. I tried sending this comment to Sunbeam’s support page, and got a reply to send it to their supplier (Star Elite Group) at exactly the same page where I submitted my original request. Doh! Please fix your website, and please update the app & firmware.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-01-27, version 1.0.5*

Completely garbage

### 1/5 — Quality not worth price

*2025-01-22, version 1.0.5*

My blanket died. It still heats a little, but that’s on high.all in all this blanket has been a disappointment. I didn’t mind to pay the extra money so I could control it on the app, but there’s no point of an app if you still have to go and push the button on the main controller after four hours, thank God, I had an extra Heating blanket in my cupboard.

### 1/5 — was ok

*2024-12-17, version 1.0.5*

we have had this blanket for three years and the app used to work great. The last year the app has been terrible and the schedule gets messed up and I can’t switch to just one side. it will turn both sides on at the same time.

### 1/5 — We only need to see your “Press ✅” warning once

*2024-11-12*

The mattress pad is 5/5, but the app design is infuriating. It gives you a warning that, if you set it higher than 5/10 heat setting you have to press a physical button to make it stay on after an hour. Totally reasonable, could be a fire hazard otherwise. But it gives you the same warning, and makes you click “OK” EVERY TIME. I own the mattress pad, I’ve turned it on with my phone dozens of times, I know what the warning says. There should be some way to dismiss it permanently.

Update: Downgrading to 1 star because the app has stopped updating without force killing and restarting it. The mattress pad itself is still great but the app is trash.

### 1/5 — No instructions

*2024-09-03, version 1.0.5*

No idea how to connect up app. Why no QR code?

### 1/5 — Does not work well

*2024-05-15, version 1.0.5*

We have a queen bed so two sides to control. My husband has the physical control and I use the app. Well I try to use the app. The touch control rarely works. If it’s on side A I can’t switch to side B. Tap tap tap, won’t switch. The app needs work.

### 1/5 — Do not recommend

*2024-02-26, version 1.0.5*

Really slow and doesnt work to operate my unit. Very frustrating. Try another brand.

### 1/5 — Probably the worst app I’ve ever used

*2024-02-15*

This app, used to control our king-sized mattress pad heater, is simply terrible. Most of the functions don’t work at all, and even the basic power on/off ability only works maybe 30% of the time. The buttons in the app don’t respond. The app rarely lets us select which side of the bed to control. The timer function doesn’t work at all; I’ll set it to run for an hour and eight hours later it’s still on, with the countdown on the timer still reading an hour. Mind you, I’m operating this in a room with a strong wi-fi signal and with my phone within a few feet of the control box. The app just doesn’t work.

I’d strongly recommend not buying this product and going with a mattress pad heater from a different company. I know I won’t ever buy a Sunbeam again.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work remotely.

*2023-12-01, version 1.0.5*

App insists that you go press a button on the physical controller making the entire app, and device, pointless.

I’d return it if I could. Buy anything else.

### 1/5 — Log in required to control my bed, no thanks.

*2023-11-21, version 1.0.5*

Kind of an invasion of my privacy

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great, love it

*2023-12-27, version 1.0.5*

Very happy with the bed heater and app. The schedule works flawlessly, it gets very hot, love it. I use it every evening all winter.

### 5/5 — Very Nuce

*2022-10-15*

Love my electric blankets. Very comfortable. And when you’re wanting to get those extra few minutes of sleep in the mornings, it’s like being cuddled in your mothers arms.

### 5/5 — Amazing blanket

*2022-10-06, version 1.0.1*

We absolutely loves this king size duel blanket.

### 5/5 — My bed and app!

*2022-03-21*

I love my bed it is so nice and get very warm! Not too hot but hot enough to where it’s relaxing. I love how the app works it’s nice and simple and works great. Set up was a bit hard but other than that it’s awesome!!

### 5/5 — WiFi enabled Bedwarmer is Awesome!

*2022-03-16*

My wife and I always use a bedwarmer during the winter months to take the edge off the coolness of the cotton sheets during Maryland winters, but this “connected” version is the bees knees!

Set a schedule with a temp, and override it from anywhere. If it’s set to turn off at nine but the neighbors just popped the cork in another bottle of vino, just pull up the app and set the timer to stay on another 60-90 minutes.

Built in safety feature that drops the temp to setting 4 if you don’t acknowledge a higher setting within a specific amount of time… genius. It really is a nice warmer. A great buy.

### 5/5 — I love this blanket! & app

*2022-02-26, version 1.0.1*

This is so convenient and easy to use 🤩

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2022-01-27, version 1.0.1*

Did I need an app controlled smart blanket? Absolutely not. Do I love it with every fiber of my being? Absolutely.

### 5/5 — Awesome mattress heater!

*2022-01-26, version 1.0.1*

We love this mattress heater! It is totally awesome! The Wi-Fi capability is absolutely the best!

### 5/5 — Comfy and warm! Everything I wanted!

*2022-01-25, version 1.0.1*

I love this blanket! I didn’t think I would use the wireless controller but it’s the best!

### 5/5 — Not that bad

*2021-10-13*

The app works fine for me, I can turn on the blanket from school or something and once I come home it will be all warm. I can see where it may be complicated but it’s not impossible to figure out.
