Today, it won’t open, even after a reboot. Help! ### 4/5 — App Healed Itself (updated review) *2021-07-23, version 1.2.16* On initial install (iPad Pro, most recent version of iOS)… the app popped the “download the database” dialog and then the app exited. Attempts to restart the app cause it to exit, even after power off reset of iPad. Several days later… it just started working. It’s a miracle! :-). OK, not really, but the app does work. ### 2/5 — Sunday Lectionary *2017-12-03, version 1.2.14* This has been a good app until now. The dates are all messed up (to the last "year A" .) The app crashes now. Have been using this and the daily office for years for devotionals. Excellent overall. Hope you can fix it soon. YBiC glenn ### 3/5 — Improvement! *2017-07-21, version 1.2.13* Thanks for the update! It no longer crashes, and I appreciate having easy access to more than just the current week. Much improved. Holding at 3 stars for now because it appears that some of the lectionary readings are not correct. Also, only one of the two lectionary tracks appears to be shown. I'll return to this for final review after I can check this against the book on the morning. ### 5/5 — Excellent app *2017-07-18, version 1.2.13* With very few Lectionary apps to choose from in the App Store, this is the best one I have tried, particularly if your church uses the RCL and NRSV. With a number of issues appearing in a recent update, the developer was extremely good in getting to the bottom of the problems and issuing a corrected update as soon as possible. ### 5/5 — Excellent! *2017-05-23, version 1.2.7* I rarely give reviews, so this is a great exception... I just downloaded this app and love it! After a quick perusal, dates and readings are all correct. There is great flexibility in its settings. I have desired such an app for quite a while and glad I found this one! ### 5/5 — GREAT APP! *2017-01-12, version 1.2.7* As a pastor, this is one of my favorite apps! However, the incorrect dates are listed in the index for 2017. ### 5/5 — Great App! *2016-10-16, version 1.2.5* I had some initial issues (crashing upon initial launch, dates and titles not displaying in index...). The developer responded to my problem within a few hours and per his instructions the app loaded and performed as promised. Making it slightly less useful. ### 2/5 — Whoops *2016-05-02, version 1.2.5* What happened to the Collects??!! Need 'em. And, what's with the sound effects? Do NOT need 'em. It was a surprise that I had to update this app, and a bigger surprise that it doesn't include the Collects. This makes the sound effects all the more irritating. I'd pay more than $.99 for the old format. Please? ### 2/5 — Disappointing *2016-04-11, version 1.2.5* Having used this app for over a year I finally give up on it when I found - once again - mistakes in the listing of texts for next Sunday. The eBCP has the right lessons, as well as lots of other useful texts. ### 4/5 — Contact the developer w/ issues *2016-03-19, version 1.2.5* As others have said they have had issues loading new church years or display issues. I contacted the developer and got a response within a few hours with some steps to try. It is frustrating to have to do that but at least he is responsive. There was another Lectionary app in the store that I liked better but it is no longer available which is why I'm only giving 4 stars. Good support, just not as slick as the last one I used. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — App *2026-02-15, version 1.4* Not working ### 1/5 — App no longer works *2025-06-13, version 1.4* I just get a blank screen now after the app opens. And there’s nothing to click on to use the app. It appears to be a discontinued app that I have been using for the last two years. The same issue is also happening with the other app Daily Office Lectionary. Disappointed that both apps have stopped working. ### 1/5 — App not working *2025-03-16, version 1.4* I just spent $.99 on this app and when I opened it I got a message saying database isn’t downloaded or update is needed. I checked the App Store for an update and it says the latest version was 5 days ago. Very disappointing and upsetting to spend money no matter how small the amount for something you can’t use. I hope this is fixed quickly. ### 1/5 — Tankersley *2025-02-23, version 1.3.4* Have been trying to download this for ages. It just says”Click entry to continue” and there is nowhere to click! Recently I switched to the RCL version and closed the app. When I attempted to reopen, the app opens to an image of the Bible then shuts down. Also, will the new lectionary year be automatically updated? This week I’m enjoying and being uplifted by reading the daily lectionary for each day in Holy Week as my quiet time contemplation. And, I've used it more than once in an emergency to access the lost reading at the last moment when nobody else seems able to find it. I highly recommend it to anyone needing easy access to the readings in either the Revised Standard Lectionary or the BCP Lectionary.
