### 3/5 — I wish…

*2022-01-09, version 1.3.0*

I understand the hard work put into this and greatly appreciate it! I just wish there was some free content or the app cost a certain amount and you could get some free content.

A monthly subscription for $11 is a lot to me when there is so much free content on the internet, even though this app’s recipes are guaranteed to be healthy and taste tested!

Maybe it’s just me being a poor teacher in the States dealing with major inflation especially in our housing market. 🤷‍♀️

### 2/5 — Too expensive

*2022-01-08, version 1.3.0*

Love love love this YouTuber Sarah, and love that her recipes are healthy. But after having this app for a year, I can’t justify spending so much for another year. It’s really not right spending $75 and you don’t get to have a book that you have on hand for life. I’m just not able to pay this year after year. Wish it would have been in book form. Maybe several but old would’ve been nice.

### 2/5 — Not worth, I’m sorry

*2021-11-22, version 1.3.0*

I absolutely loved Sarah and followed her for years. I was bummed when this was an app but since I wanted to support her and always loved what she does I decided to buy the one year subscription. Sadly it has been 8 months and I made about 4 recipes. Sadly I only enjoyed 1 and that one would be found easily on a free blog. I am only trying to constructive criticism, Sarah if you are reading this please do less niche ingredients because I could not find half of ingredients at 3 of my grocery stores so I had to order online. It just is so expensive and I tried a nourish bowl and felt bland. I’m sorry to put this negativity on here but just trying to help. Maybe do the recipes you do as you like to and then maybe add 1 that would not be as niche. I’m sorry, personally just not going to be renewing.

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you so much for taking this time to write a review and your feedback. Please reach out to us at support@sunee.com if you want to talk more about your review, love the Sunee team! x

### 2/5 — Too niche

*2021-08-30, version 1.3.0*

I gifted this subscription to my Mom for her birthday, and really wanted her to like it (I also wanted to try some of the recipes!). However, the recipes had super niche ingredients that were too expensive & hard to find in the US. To me, that takes the ‘easy’ out of the ‘easy’ recipes. We did not use the app once and didn’t try any recipes because we couldn’t find any that we liked, or anything that we could make with things we already had in our kitchen. I love Sarah but her pantry staples are far more niche than the average person’s. Will not be renewing :(

### 4/5 — Great app

*2021-07-13, version 1.3.0*

The Sunee app is amazing, great UI, a really beautiful app. I only give it 4 stars because like a lot of other people I wish you could have a weekly meal planner integrated that would create a grocery list for you. The price is also a little steep considering the fact that when new recipes come in you are not always going to be interested in all of them which means you don’t necessarily get a lot of new content often.

### 2/5 — Price point is not worth it

*2021-05-15, version 1.0*

There are some good recipes - majority could be found on pinterest. For the price of the app there should be A LOT more features. I pay that price for a medical app I have that I use to help treat patients that has 100x more info! It’s your choice to buy the subscription and support Sarah but I just don’t understand the price 😬 ebook would have been way better in my opinion 🤷🏻‍♀️

### 2/5 — I really wanted to like this but...

*2021-04-21, version 1.0*

Love Sarah she’s amazing! But honestly this app isn’t a good app for someone who cooks- lots of the ingredients are things I can’t get ahold of (I live in San Diego btw), no planner/grocery list option, toggling between screens to read ingredient amounts to directions (big pet peeve of mine, I am a messy cooker, and now my phone is a mess after ever meal). Honestly I have Daniel Walkers’ cook books and I didn’t feel that this app offered anything new in comparison 🤷🏼‍♀️

### 3/5 — It’s fine (but just fine)

*2021-04-20, version 1.0*

Like most people, I think there should probably be more unique features for the price point. It’s a pretty expensive subscription. I also didn’t find the articles to be that helpful (and didn’t notice any additional articles added over my 3-month use). The recipes themselves are okay. Most of the ones I tried tasted fairly bland, although my boyfriend liked them. And I, like a lot of the other users, think there should be nutritional information. I know that Sarah promotes “intuitive eating,” but some of the calorie counts were *shockingly* high. It would’ve been nice to have some low-cal, high protein alternatives.

**Developer response:** Hey there!!
Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review on Sunee! Articles are uploaded every second week, just incase you missed some! If there are particular recipes you found bland we would love to hear more, please email us at support@sunee.com

### 4/5 — Pretty Good

*2021-04-08, version 1.0*

I was hesitant to download the app because I have been in a cooking rut since I had COVID, but recipes excite me so I thought I’d try it. The recipes I’ve tried have been easy to follow! I do wish there was a way for people to rate recipes or add comments on different recipes, as I often find myself looking for ratings. I also would love if you were able to search for recipes based on what’s in your pantry - for instance I went there tonight to look for something to make with ground beef and would have loved to be able to search for it.

Overall, I think a lot of time and effort went into making recipes for all skill levels and the recipes I’ve tried have been tasty!

**Developer response:** Hey There!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write Sunee a review!
We are so happy to hear you are loving Sunee and are officially out of your cooking rutt with the help of your bestie Sunee!
We love these ideas and will be sure to pass them onto our development team as we grow!
Love,
Sunee xx

### 2/5 — Not worth it

*2021-04-04, version 1.0*

I’ve been a fan of Sarah for a long time and was super excited about the app, but after having it I wish I never bought the subscription. I enjoy cooking and making new healthy recipes, and was hoping for recipes I could make on a regulars basis. I personally feel like the ingredients are all expensive and nothing you would have around the house. Every recipe calls for something out of the norm. If you’re looking for unique recipes to make for an occasions I would recommend, but otherwise you’d be better off without.

### 2/5 — Tried to Love

*2021-02-20, version 1.0*

This is really hard for me to do because I love Sezzy, but this app needs major improvement. Cooking apps can be much more user friendly than cook books if done correctly. However, this app offers non of them. For this app to be worth paying this premium, she needs a tab to plan your meals for the week, at least, and have it auto generate a grocery list. Instead I’m sitting here writing a list down, like I would have to do with a cook book, but I’m paying a subscription fee for a app. Basically, this just a glorified, over priced cook book that has no added benefits. There is also not enough mail meals, and to mention there’s no nutritional information. Which I understand intuitive eating can work for some people but not everyone. If I’m paying this steep price and for this to truly be a cook book for everyone, this needs to be added. Many people have medical reasons they need to tract certain nutritional information.

### 4/5 — Overall Great

*2021-02-11, version 1.0*

I think the app is great. The recipes so far have all been amazing!

I understand why people are complaining about some of the glitches, but I don’t see them to be anything too crazy. I personally do not feel they interrupt my experience. I think the people who are bothered are extremely techy (like app developer level). Somethings are a little chunky, but again nothing that interrupts my experience.

My only real complaint is the price. It is a little pricy to be an elevated cookbook. With that said, when you breakdown the price by day and consider all of the features and content, I think it is worth it if you have the money.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to write us a review! We are pleased to hear that you love Sunee as much as we do! xx

### 3/5 — Not sure what I’m doing wrong

*2021-01-24, version 1.0*

First off the price is wayyyyy too much. I get an app is expensive to made but this is more expensive than my fitness apps, it’s just a ridiculous unreasonable price in my opinion. Next, not sure what is happening but I’ve tried 2 recipes, the simple 7 protein balls and the sweet potato falafel and they both were so wet they couldn’t be made into balls. I followed the recipes exactly and I just don’t know what happened. I’m frustrated with the price and with the recipes not even working for me.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Save your money - go to Pinterest

*2021-07-08, version 1.3.0*

The app is aesthetically beautiful but that’s all it really is. It’s clunky and underwhelming to use while being expensive. You don’t get to keep any content after spending almost $40! Not to menton the majority of recipes are smoothies or sweet treats, and the actual meals have expensive or hard to find ingredients.

May work well if you’re an Aussie native but not super friendly for the US.

For this price, the app should make a grocery list from fave recipes, have a meal plan calendar, and offer more than easy sweet treats after baiting on social with real meals.

I didn’t renew. Actually I use Pinterest more which is free, has videos, nutrition facts, and better listing capabilities.

I am knowledgeable in app and web design and this product needs major upgrades to match the price tag.

### 1/5 — Not Impressed

*2021-05-05, version 1.0*

Pretty disappointing so far. The recipes look fun and delicious but between the cost of the subscription and the cost of all the super niche ingredients I definitely wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. It was fun for about a week until I realized my weekly grocery trips were always going to be over $100(USD) and split between 2-3 stores because I couldn’t find everything at one store. It took me a while to cave and pay for a 3 month subscription because I hate when influencers advertise something and then make it really inaccessible to the average person and now I’m wishing I would’ve listened to my first instinct not to get it.

### 1/5 — I tried, but I feel taken advantage of...

*2021-02-16, version 1.0*

I really love Sarah, I love her ingenuity, drive, and bubbly personality. I tried so hard to like this app. Even though these are basic recipes that I could just google for free, it is nice to have them in one place. The BIG problem with this app is that you are paying a very high premium for having a dynamic platform, but I could have paid WAY less for a cookbook which would allow me to keep the content I’ve paid for forever. It is kind of a slap in the face to your supporters to take the content that we paid for away after the subscription is over, and that makes me feel used. In addition, there are lots of errors that should have been caught in editing. That’s a minor thing. Really, just don’t take away what I’ve paid (a lot) for. That might be fair if the subscription was $1.99/month, not $10!

### 1/5 — Too expensive, boring content.

*2021-01-27, version 1.0*

Nobody should pay 40 bucks every 3 months to learn how to make avocado toast or basic pasta recipes. Despite the developers comments that these are original recipes, you can find exact same or very close copies on Pinterest. For the obscene amount of money this costs I’d expect the workers to be available to suggest substitutions and health information on majority of the recipes, but they’re too busy attacking anyone who has a question. Many recipes labeled as vegan are not. When staff is told that certain ingredients in recipes are not vegan (like eggs) they instead double down on social media that it IS vegan.

### 1/5 — Rude creators & Basic recipes. Don’t waste your money.

*2021-01-25, version 1.0*

The recipes given are basic recipes you find FREE on Pinterest. Smoothies, granola, nourish bowls, and basic chicken with veggies. Then this week... a coffee? The app glitches, theres so many errors and mistakes and there’s zero nutrition facts.

I’m super unimpressed by Sarah & Sunee deleting comments and then being rude to their fans/followers on Instagram who have legitimate concerns about this app. I saw Sarah comment to a follower saying “no one is forcing you to buy the app”. Really? It’s an insult to ask $120 for a discounted one year subscription for basic recipes, rude creators, and a faulty app.

When your customers want to be heard and validated, you don’t respond with rude snarky responses, or delete/block them. Is this app designed only for Sarah or for your 1 million subscribers? Listen to your complaints and validate your customers Sunee, or you won’t be getting anyone to renew their subscription.

**Developer response:** Hey there!!
Thanks so much for writing your concerns to us, we have been very conscious not to silence any feedback on the Sunee instagram. As we have created an app and not a physical book we have the ability to change things to our users preferences and needs which is why we didn't launch an eBook or hard copy book.

Should you have any other issues please feel free to reach out to us at support@sunee.com
Again, thanks for your feedback!

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2021-01-22, version 1.0*

I have been a subscriber of Sarah since the very beginning. To make an app that doesn’t have nutritional information, and then to tel people would like info that they are in the wrong because “they don’t count calories” come on. The app itself is very glitchy, but pretty. $30 for a pretty app just won’t cut it though. Women have questioned variations of recipes to make them more lo cal, with Sarah responding that she eats dessert everyday and stays healthy and feel great. Not humble, and not getting anymore of my money. I’m sad to see such a beautiful person turn into what she has. Not everyone has money like she does, or the ability to eat sweets everyday and stay fit. Lost me as a subscriber too.

### 1/5 — Errors, Expensive, and Rude Creators

*2021-01-21, version 1.0*

I have struggled with this review for a while now as I wanted to like the app. It’s so expensive for what it is. There are many recipe apps on the market that have all of the features of this one and more for a lot less money. It’s riddled with spelling and recipe errors (cheescake, cmon?) and it just feels very unprofessional. What drove me to write the review though was some users asking polite questions on the creators Instagram. The creator was rude, snarky, and conceited and then they deleted the comments with the original questions. They call this a ray of wellness/sunshine but the creators seem to be really mean people. Will no longer be supporting.

### 1/5 — Wow $$$...

*2021-01-21, version 1.0*

I can’t imagine that many people can afford this. It’s definitely a privilege to be able to afford a subscription service priced this high but the fact that you can find similar recipes to these for free elsewhere online makes me sad. Or that you can buy a recipe book (or several) at a one time purchase for less that a 6-month subscription. . .
Love Sarah and what she does but I think the price of this app might be a little too unfair. Sad I won’t be able to try her recipes.

### 1/5 — Very underwhelmed and disappointed

*2021-01-17, version 1.0*

There is a lack of any nutritional facts of any kind. The App in itself is disappointing in the fact that some of the recipes won’t show ingredients or method. I also dislike that you have to pay for either 3,6, or 12 months in full and there is no month to month option. Along with that point, I feel that this app is very overpriced for what you get. I was very excited for these recipes and since trying multiple recipes and giving them a fair shot, they just weren’t good. I was very underwhelmed with the recipes. All in all, I would not buy another subscription. The recipes, although healthy lack flavor. The app is not well made. The subscription is overpriced. There are no nutritional facts. I am extremely disappointed and underwhelmed.

**Developer response:** Hey Bethany! We are sorry to hear you're underwhelmed. Our team of Nutritionist, Dietician and Naturopath have worked to bring you the nutritional facts that call Sunee home. When you have a spare few minutes we recommend logging on and taking a read through some of the articles and healthy hacks. x

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2021-01-16, version 1.0*

I was looking forward to this app for SOO long and to find out there’s no monthly subscription, free trial period, or that we won’t be keeping the recipes we paid for if we couldn’t afford to keep up with the cost... *sigh, it’s really a shame.
Please consider your followers in these areas.

I think it’s a good idea to maybe have different tiers of available content to separate those who’d be willing to purchase more than just recipes from those who want just the recipes and if we had to end our subscription, then allow for us to keep the recipes we paid for at that time to utilize as our own “cook book” (obviously not including the newly uploaded recipes after the cancelation).

Love you Sarah, hopefully this project will be tweaked up a bit more for us.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Life-changing!

*2021-07-05, version 1.3.0*

This is the best cooking app for GF, healthy, balanced options! All of the recipes that I’ve made so far are delicious and I can really tell that they have been well tested because I haven’t run into any issues with measurements, cooking temps, etc. My toddler and my husband love everything I’ve made so far! The zucchini fries, avolutely creamy carbonara, Foxy pancakes, and the chocolate swirl banana bread are now staples in our home. This app has made me fall in love with healthy cooking!

### 5/5 — BEST HEALTHY COOK BOOK/APP EVER

*2021-06-13, version 1.3.0*

It’s so flexible, fun, and diverse! It was kind of expensive at first to buy the base things but after that it’s become so affordable! I’ve never had so much fun cooking and I’m so thankful my husband and I purchased this! I actually feel less guilty eating stuff because I actually know what’s going in my food!

### 5/5 — It’s a big part of my life now

*2021-06-04, version 1.3.0*

I’ve always wanted to have a healthier way of cooking. I grew up in south Texas where that’s not a huge concern to anyone (and if it is you’re weird hahah) anyway, this app has taught me incredible recipes and encourages me to make my own in the kitchen which I have never done in my life! Thank you for this awesome app, PS THE FAJITAS ARE 🔥

### 5/5 — The most convenient and delicious cooking app I’ve found!

*2021-06-03, version 1.3.0*

Sarah has created the most beautiful and effective cooking app on the market! With hundreds of recipes for every lifestyle choice there is something for everyone! Worth every penny, can’t wait to keep trying more recipes!

### 5/5 — A great app to find healthy recipes

*2021-06-03, version 1.3.0*

I love this app!! So easy to use. The recipes are fantastic. It is truly a great resource to find GF, DF and vegan recipes that are delicious. I am the only one in my house that has to eat GF but everyone loves the meals/sweet treats I make from using Sunee. #deegee38 user since the beginning!!!

### 5/5 — Great design, recipes are organized well.

*2021-03-31, version 1.0*

Love the recipe options and extra health/well-being articles. The subscription is a little more than I thought it would be, but honestly cooking GOOD food at home saves so much money. I think it’s worth it, especially when I think about my whole family and try to plan meals for the month. Love the look/ design of the app, too. So much easier than food blogs that have WAY too much advertising to sift through to find ingredient lists.

**Developer response:** Hey there Amy!!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to review Sunee! We really appreciate you sharing the love!! We are so happy to hear you love Sunee just as much as we do!! We promise to continue to bring you amazing recipes! Love The Sunee Team x

### 5/5 — Use the app almost every day

*2021-03-14, version 1.0*

I genuinely love this app and the recipes! I haven’t been disappointed by a single one. I do wish it had nutrition info, I want to know what I’m putting in my body and it’s a bit extra work to do it myself but it’s manageable. The biggest worry I have is how reluctant the creator seems to be to feedback. It’s a great app, there’s just a few things people have suggested to make it more enjoyable to use, it really isn’t personal.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for taking the time to write this review on Sunee! We appreciate feedback as it is how we improve, please always feel free to email us at support@sunee.com. We are glad to hear your loving Sunee though! xx

### 5/5 — WORTH IT.

*2021-03-05, version 1.0*

I’ve been following sarah for quite some time now, over 3 years so I was super excited about said “cooking project.” I think everyone was expecting a book like her workouts, so was surprised to see it was an app with recurring fees.

Not going to lie was very hesitant buying in, but the app is so fun and the recipes are even better. They also break down the price for you, like a 6-month subscription is like 1 night out of dining in America. 1 dinner vs dozens of healthy recipes? Figured I’d at least give it a go.

Love how comprehensive and thought out the entire layout is from pantry staples to recipes that incorporate healthy, whole foods. It 100% made me think about food differently in a good way, so hope to maintain these tips and tricks.

One critique I’d have if at all is that some of the recipes aren’t as healthy as you’d think so you have to use your best judgement, e.g. nachos isn’t exactly what I thought I’d see on her app. Would be fun for more community based stuff too like photos, comments, ratings, etc.

Also, I don’t have the reminder bug. It also doesn’t remind me all that often when I do have it turned on maybe 2x a month.

Hope this goes well for Sarah! Keep up the good work.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to leaving this review on Sunee!

We really appreciate your very well thought out review and absolutely love your community idea! It would be so fun to have our Sunee Hunnies engage with one another! We are always welcoming feedback from people who use Sunee everyday so Thank you!! x

### 5/5 — Thrilled! (But have suggestions)

*2021-02-17, version 1.0*

So far we have loved every recipe we’ve tried. Kids too!

Love the articles, the search function, the recipe roulette and the fact that I can make notes!

I haven’t had any of the glitches or “Turn on Notifications” issues that others have. I also don’t care about nutritional facts. A: I would assume that is a HUGE outside expense and B: eating Whole Foods and balancing out your meals (not having three sugary meals in one day) are more important than calories and fats. The fact that the recipes are reviewed by a nutritionist and dietician is good for me.

The price is a bit of a sticker shock, but at the end of the day, having someone to tell me what to eat is worth the money. I get that you can search the web for similar recipes for free, but ain’t nobody got time for that! I went with the annual subscription, which I’m happy with, but don’t love the fact that if I don’t renew, I lose access.

Now to suggestions. Would love a meal plan function for the week. Would love an “add to my grocery list” function. Thanks for all you guys do!

### 5/5 — GREAT app for healthy and delicious meals!

*2021-01-29, version 1.0*

My family and I have been using the app since the day it launched. It’s difficult to get kids to actually enjoy healthy meals, but every one always asks for seconds! The meals are ones I’ve never tried and some never heard of before. The categories make it very convenient! It’s nice to have all the healthy variety of recipes in one place! The cost is worth it to me because it’s an investment on mine and my families health!

The app doesn’t include nutritional facts, but that’s because the focus of the app is on intuitive eating. It doesn’t bother me at all, but it may be bothersome to others! If you’re American, make sure you do the conversions! (My husband didn’t realize the oven temperature was set to Celsius at first lol)
