## What is Sunflower3?

This utility configures Wikoda's Sunflower home heliostats.

A heliostat is a device that tracks the sun in order to reflect the sunlight with its mirror to a stationary target regardless of where the Sun is throughout the day.

Wikoda's Sunflowers are self powered by the Sun and operate independently after configuration.

This utility configures Sunflower for home use. It can configure it in three modes of operation:

1. Normal mode. 

This mode configures a Sunflower to operate like a normal heliostat. The sunlight could be beamed through the windows onto the walls or ceiling to brighten the room. As the sun moves through the day, the Sunflower operates the mirror to keep the reflection at the same spot. This is an affordable way to light up a room, grow indoor plants, and to do all other work that require sunlight in places that do not have direct sun. The Sunflower could be shared by configuring different targets to beam the sunlight, and selecting which target is to be active.

2. Schedule mode.

This mode works like Normal mode, but in addition it configures a Sunflower to select which of the targets is to be active based on a schedule. The schedule could be by the month, the day of week, or time of day.

3. Area mode.

This mode works like Normal mode, but causes the sunlight to sweep through all the targets. This is useful for defining an area where sunlight is needed, like a wall that moss tend to grow or a plot of garden that needs sunlight.

Looks like this business no longer exists and left everyone high and dry with faulty products that also happened to be extremely expensive. Great. I deeply regret purchasing mine.

Had i known that email was only way to get support - and very delayed, days and days- i would have thought twice to purchase the Sunflower3. When it works - it is wonderful to have the sun! But am so hugely disappointed in app that is hit/miss - doesn’t always work, and guess what happens when doesn’t work? Sunflower3 just sits there and doesn’t work/do intended job. Wikoda team- can you please respond to your customers and fix this? So frustrating.

just a few weeks in but the hardware looks sturdy and was well packaged for shipping. the app has a few rough edges but functional.  first few times in initial configuration i didn’t catch i had to hold phone/camera horizontal and app was telling me my target was impossible.

just upgraded to ios 14, and now app crashes when trying to connect.  i do worry the longevity of the device since it’s solely managed through the app.  may have to dedicate an older ios hardware to keep this device working for the long haul.

I have noticed some rough edges, setting up my Sunflower3 heliostat using this app.
After setup, you still have to skip through the phone compatibility and assembly stages each time you start the app.
Communication with the sunflower3 was unreliable even when very close.
The first try at setup failed to point the mirror anywhere near its target.
The next try was close, but the training procedure failed with communication problems.
The next day, during sync, the app said the motor was jammed, so that's as far as I got.
I hope Wikoda sends a replacement or a refund!
