## What is Sunhaven?

Know YOUR safe time in the sun — not just the UV number.

Sunhaven is completely free. Every feature — the burn timer, the forecast, the widgets, the alerts — with no subscription, no ads, no account, and no tracking of any kind.

The UV index says 7. But what does that mean for you? Sunhaven turns the forecast into the answer that matters: how long your skin can safely be in the sun. Pick your skin type and your usual SPF, and Sunhaven estimates your personal burn time from the live UV forecast for wherever you are.

THE SUN SESSION
Tap Start when you head outside. A live countdown ring tracks your remaining sun time against the changing hourly UV — not a single static number. You'll get a nudge when it's time to reapply sunscreen, a warning as you approach your limit, and a calm summary of your day in the sun when you're done. Went for a swim? One tap shortens your reapply timer and adjusts your budget.

BEFORE THE PEAK, NOT AFTER
Sunhaven warns you about an hour before UV peaks on high-UV days, so you can plan shade, sunscreen, and swims — not regret them.

WHAT'S INSIDE

• Works with your location, or any city you choose

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-09-04

Small fixes and listing updates. Sunhaven stays completely free: burn timer, forecast, widgets and alerts, with no account, no ads and no tracking.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-13

The Sun Session screen has been rebuilt around one idea: stepping into the shade should take one tap, wherever you are.

• Pause from the lock screen. Tap pause on the Live Activity without opening the app. Your burn time stops the moment you tap, not the next time you open Sunhaven.

• A live countdown. Hours, minutes and seconds, so one glance tells you whether it is running or paused.

• Every action says what it will do. "I'm in the shade" pauses your burn time. "I swam" tells you it costs 20% of your remaining time — before you tap it.

• Undo. Tapped "I reapplied" or "I swam" by mistake? Both can be taken back now.

Also fixed: pausing a session no longer cancels your reapply reminder. Sunscreen wears off in the shade too, so that alert now survives the pause.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-11

SunSafe is now Sunhaven — same app, new name. The old name was shared with another app on the App Store, which made this one hard to find. Nothing else has changed: same features, still no account and no tracking.

Also new:

• Log a past session. Forgot to tap Start? Add it afterwards and Sunhaven works out your exposure from the UV forecast for those hours.

• Edit a session. Fix the times on anything already in your History, and the exposure is recalculated.

• Where the forecast doesn't cover the hours you logged, the session is saved without an exposure figure rather than showing you an invented one.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-30

Two additions this time.

• Send feedback. Settings now has a Support section with a direct line to me — tell me what's broken, what's missing, or what you'd like to see next. It opens a draft in your own mail app, and nothing is sent unless you send it.

• Rate SunSafe. If the app has been useful, there's now an easy way to say so without hunting for the listing.

Settings also links straight to the help page and the privacy policy.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-07-29

This update is all fixes, most of them about telling you the truth.

• More accurate tracking while the app is closed. If you lock your phone or switch apps mid-session, SunSafe now follows how the UV actually changed while you were away instead of assuming it held steady. Afternoon sessions were being tracked a little too generously.

• Better-timed reminders. Your "approaching your limit" and "time's up" alerts now follow the day's UV curve and account for sunscreen wearing off, so they arrive when they should.

• Peak UV alerts no longer skip days that display as 6.

• Full support for larger text sizes. At accessibility sizes the session screen was cutting off the End Session button.

• Searching for a city or tapping Try Again now works even while a forecast is still loading.

• The Control Center button starts a session reliably, whichever tab you had open last.

• The home screen widget now matches dark mode, and Live Activities say when their information has gone stale instead of running a countdown nobody is updating any more.
