## What is Sunlight?

Every winter, the days get shorter and the darkness feels endless. But then, quietly, the light starts coming back. One minute more. Then two. Then five.

Sunlight shows you that change. A beautiful solar dial tracks the full arc of your day - sunrise, sunset, dawn, dusk, golden hour - and tells you exactly how much daylight you gained or lost. On the darkest days, seeing "+1 min 47 sec" is a small reminder that the light is returning.

Aurora alerts - Opt-in aurora monitoring using NOAA space weather data. Checks conditions every 6 hours in the background and sends a push notification when aurora is likely visible at your location.

  - Four visibility levels tell you what to expect: "Possible with camera", "Faint, possibly visible", "Likely visible", and "Clearly visible"
  - Choose your alert threshold in Settings - default is "Faint, possibly visible" (20% local probability)
  - Aurora card on the home screen shows current conditions with local probability and data freshness
  - Kp index gauge on the solar dial shows forecast geomagnetic activity
  - Double-tap the gauge for detailed aurora info
  - All aurora data comes from publicly available NOAA services - no personal data is sent
