I absolutely love my Sunlighten sauna. I’ve had it for over 2 years and use it almost every single day. The app makes it easy to fit in my routine. I love that I can start my sauna from the gym so it’s hot and ready to when I get home. Thank you Sunlighten!

After the update, it started to heat up poorly, it takes 2 hours to heat up to normal temperature. Before, it took 30 minutes. What changed? My mPulse sauna

The tablet within the sauna is slow and not always touch responsive. 

I would love it if the app was able to be able to connect to the sauna from anywhere (not specifically the same network). 

Also, with multiple users in the house, if the tablet isn’t logged into my profile after another user uses the sauna, the scheduled program won’t run. That seems like an oversight.

### 2/5 — Was ok, now bad again

The app was working well enough as a utilitarian tool. It turned the sauna on. It reported the correct temp. It didn’t push random popup windows. Now that has changed. The app is not reliable for the basics - turning on the sauna and reporting a correct temperature. And the developer added 2 new popup windows to bombard users and attempt to force them to share location and Bluetooth. Neither of these is necessary for the app to communicate with the sauna. But as expected, Sunlighten has jumped onboard the data collection train and made the customer into the product. We don’t appreciate the daily intrusion demanding that we share our location and connect via Bluetooth. Declining these options ONE TIME should be respected by the company. As they say, NO MEANS NO. 
We are daily sauna users but even our dedication to this company isn’t enough. They aren’t listening to the feedback. I will gladly update my review if they alter the app to respect the privacy and decisions made by customers. But if they can’t do that then we will definitely choose a different brand next time.

Finally!   I can start the sauna up while I am coming back from gym!

I got my sauna about 2 years ago and was happy to see an app for it. Unfortunately, it was terrible. It had trouble connecting from the next room let alone from outside the house. It couldn’t control the lights effectively and so I gave up. Deleted the app and just used the wonderful sauna manually. 
   Fast forward to today 2/26, and I went down for a sauna and there was a tablet app update. I loaded it and it wanted to connect to my app. I uploaded the app and noticed immediately that things are different. The app is much smoother. You can actually turn the sauna on from miles away and the both the sauna and color lights can be turned on as long as you leave the color lights on on the tablet and turn them off with the small chromo remote. 
  If you haven’t tried the app since 2025, you should now. It’s all that we’ve been waiting for.

This app is very limited. I cant turn my sauna on from wherever im at you have to be soo close. Mine is at my place of business, crazy how much we pay for the sauna's (which I do love) to not be able to turn it on without being soo many feet from it. I have a smart strip outlet that I can literally turn my things on and off from anywhere but I can't do the same with my sauna. Also it send notifications on the phone of when sauna is started when preheat is done and what program is starting and when program is done, but I can't go into the app and look at these notifications which is weird to me. The app needs more work to it in my opinion but I'm just one person I guess just a few things to take into consideration.

### 3/5 — Almost Perfect: Great Sauna, Frustrating App Limitations

I love having my Sunlighten sauna at home. It feels like a luxury experience and the convenience of not having to go to the gym makes it much easier to use consistently and enjoy the benefits.

The built-in tablet is easy to use and a great feature. I can log into preloaded apps to watch shows, connect to Bluetooth for music, or take phone calls, which really enhances the experience.

My biggest frustration is the Wi-Fi and app functionality. I agree with other reviewers who are frustrated by the inability to connect to or start the sauna when not at home. At this price, remote start feels like a reasonable expectation, especially since many other home devices (like tvs, fridge, stove, washing machine, robot vac, etc) allow true remote access, so the technology is out there. This should have been disclosed at the time of purchase.

I also notice occasional subtle creaking sounds when sitting inside. It looks solid overall, but the noise slightly detracts from the premium feel.

Overall, I truly love my Sunlighten sauna and the convenience of having it at home. Adding true remote start capability and addressing minor build noises would make it an even better experience.
