Shadow calculations now include terrain and tree canopy, so hillside and tree-lined spots are no longer marked sunnier than they are. Sun timelines match the map markers exactly. Local weather. Cloud cover is interpolated per neighbourhood, so a cloudy district and a sunny one are shown separately, and each venue tells you whether the sun is direct or filtered. Every new place is checked against real building data, so markers sit on the actual terrace and never in the water. Deeper, more realistic building shadows on the map, so you can see at a glance which side of the street is in sun. The map now opens slightly more zoomed out, giving you the full shadow pattern of the neighbourhood right away. Smoother time scrubbing: dragging the sun timeline is faster and no longer flickers sun-hour numbers. More local weather: cloud cover is interpolated per area, so one part of town can be cloudy while another is sunny. Refreshed interface with a dark frosted-glass look, cleaner filters and better spacing on small screens. Many fixes: duplicate venues removed, selected places always stay on top, and improved performance on older devices. ### 2.9 — 2026-08-06 Speed and smoothness Rebuilt the map engine: venues now group into clusters when you zoom out and render individually as you zoom in, cutting the number of live elements by up to 20x. Timeline scrubbing is dramatically faster. Sun hours update instantly instead of stuttering. Zoom and pan are smoother on older devices, including iPhone 12, with lighter animations and reused map markers. Cleaner interface Removed the side zoom slider. Pinch and double-tap now handle zoom, leaving more room for the map. Control buttons never overlap the venue card or timeline, at any screen size. Frosted glass surfaces with a warm tint throughout. Local weather: cloud shadows now follow the actual wind direction and update live as you drag the timeline. New frosted glass design across all controls.
