The sun's out. So where's it actually landing? Sunny Pubs sorts your afternoon by sunlight. It shows you which outdoor spots have sun on them now, where the sun will still be at six, and how long each one lasts before the shade arrives. SUN IS THE FILTER, NOT THE CATEGORY A pint in a beer garden. Brunch on a terrace. A park, a beach, a coastal walk, a swim, a sunset. Whatever you feel like doing outdoors, Sunny Pubs sorts it by where the light actually is. WORKED OUT FROM THE BUILDINGS AROUND EACH PLACE A weather app can tell you it's sunny in Dublin. It can't tell you that the yard behind the pub is in shade because of the block next door. Sunny Pubs uses the real shape and height of the buildings around each place, together with live weather, to work out whether that particular spot is lit. MOVE WITH THE LIGHT • Check morning, afternoon, evening or sunset before you commit • Sunny windows for the next 48 hours, place by place • Follow the sun — when one spot falls into shade, move to the next one still lit • Sunset spots with a clear western horizon for the last of the light • A home-screen widget — sunny spots near you, and when the sun reaches them NARROW IT TO WHAT YOU ACTUALLY WANT • Pubs, cafés, restaurants, parks, beaches, trails, nightclubs and events • Pet friendly, accessible, live music, cocktails, brunch, a fireplace, parking, wifi • Hiking, cycling, swimming, kayaking, snorkelling and camping • Trails by difficulty and shape — easy to strenuous, loop or out-and-back • Beaches near high tide, snugs, late bars and dance floors • Opening hours, menus, events and photos NEW IN TOWN? A local already knows which yard catches the evening sun. In a city you have never walked, you cannot. Sunny Pubs works the same wherever it covers, so the first terrace you sit down at is one that is actually lit. HONEST WHERE THE DATA IS THIN Building records are better in some cities than others. Where a nearby building's height isn't recorded, Sunny Pubs tells you the horizon is estimated rather than pretending to be sure. You get a straight answer either way. Free, with no ads. Ireland, the UK, and a growing list of countries across Europe and beyond. Find the sun, whatever you're doing. ## Is Sunny Pubs safe? Times in the app follow your phone's 12- or 24-hour setting. Your sign-in is stored in the phone's own secure storage. More places in the sun, in more countries. ### 1.3.0 — 2026-09-18 Smoother and more reliable: • Home-screen widgets and the Apple Watch app now work with VoiceOver: each place reads as one line with its type, distance and sunny time. • Signing in is more dependable, and if a sign-in link has expired the app now says so instead of looking signed in. • The map recovers from a failed load with a Retry button instead of spinning. • Search results are more accurate, and faint text is easier to read. • Widgets show a clear message when your time zone isn't covered yet. ### 1.2 — 2026-09-10 Sunny Pubs now covers seven more countries: Canada, Poland, Japan, Thailand, Denmark, Slovakia and Turkey. Plus a round of fixes and refinements to sun timings, search and the home-screen widget. ### 1.1 — 2026-09-05 No release notes. ## Apps similar to Sunny Pubs | App | Rating | Price | Category | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | [Sunny Terraces](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/sunny-terraces/id6760833574) | — | Free | Travel | | [Apollo Language Centre](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/apollo-language-centre/id1230607526) | — | Free | Travel | | [droply: Find Water](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/droply-find-water/id6742996650) | 5.0 (2) | Free | Travel | | [Tonnara Florio Di Favignana](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/tonnara-florio-di-favignana/id6474445454) | — | Free | Travel | | [UFODRIVE 24/7 EV Car Rental](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/ufodrive-247-ev-car-rental/id1361755810) | 4.6 (151) | Free | Travel | | [Anemon Hotels](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/anemon-hotels/id1589228735) | 1.0 (2) | Free | Travel | --- *Data collected daily from the US App Store and indexed by [AppsHunter](https://appshunter.io/).
