One of the best of its kind. The current update secures this position. The free version works with your current location, while changing/searching locations is part of the Pro version along with additional widgets and features. The app is free to download so you can try it before deciding if the extra features are worth it for you. ### 1/5 — Paid app, Not Revealed at Top of Page *2026-02-02* From what I can see this is a pretty app, looks like it would be quite functional. This is a paid app. It doesn’t say so anywhere until you scroll way down the page. (That maybe Apple being sneaky.) It’s $25 for a lifetime or $10 every year forever. I would’ve considered it, maybe, if it was really good, but now I’m disinclined to even trial it. I need to see what else is out there, all I really wanted was a widget. **Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback. I completely understand wanting to know what you’re getting before committing, especially if all you’re really looking for is a widget. Just to clarify, the app is free to download, and several features and widgets are available to use without any in-app purchase. If you’d like to see which widgets require the Pro purchase, these are clearly marked as Pro in the widget selector. I appreciate you checking out the app and sharing your thoughts, and I hope you find something that works well for what you’re looking for. ### 1/5 — They Changed the Widget *2025-03-13, version 5.1.6* BAD NEWS (Disappointing): The most recent App UPDATES have changed the widget AWAY from showing in the SAME widget "TIMES of BOTH the sunrise & sunset TIMES" >>> to only showing ONE of the "Number of HOURS to next Sunrise or Next Sunset". There are no specific instructions in the app telling you what you might need to do or giving you steps. Which might be fine except that it does not show up as a widget anywhere. I’ve clicked on the plus to add it as a widget but the app doesn’t show up in the list. I’ve turned my phone on and off and uninstalled and reinstalled it and it never works. Now one has to keep rotating the wheel to reach the 7 day. The app is not compatible with ios 14.0.1 Updating to the latest iOS version before, create it many times more problems for me. **Developer response:** There appears to be a bug in iOS 14.0.1 that is causing this issue. On top of being a space nerd I live in the Seattle area and being that far north we have very short winter days and very long summer days. I love this app to keep up with how long the days will be, sunrise and sunset times. It always gives me hope in the depths of winter and 8 hours between sunrise and sunset that more daylight hours are around the corner. It even has a widget for it. This sets the app apart as especially useful, more than other options out there.
