### 2/5 — Not accurate

*2026-05-27*

Concept is good. However the angle and the shades from building do not always reflect reality. Trees and other large structures not take into the account

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback, and you're right about trees. SunSeekr calculates shadows using available building and geographic data, but trees and smaller obstructions aren't consistently available in the open datasets we currently use. We're working to improve this, and you can now report inaccurate areas directly in the app to help us correct the map. We're a small independent team, so these reports genuinely help us make SunSeekr better. We'd love you to give the latest version another try.

### 2/5 — Lots of Errors

*2026-03-22*

Great idea but there are several places in my local area on the map that have now closed, some for quite some time. A non local could be wondering around for a while to find that sunny venue.

**Developer response:** Thanks for flagging this. You're right, venue information can occasionally become outdated as businesses open, close or change. We've now added reporting tools in SunSeekr so outdated venues can be flagged directly from the app and corrected much faster. We're also working to improve our venue data continuously. If you spot one of these places again, a report from the app would really help us fix it.

### 2/5 — Not really accurate

*2026-03-20*

The app doesn’t account for natural shade so trees and hedges aren’t included in the data. The idea is great but it needs to be better than this. The Shademap app is better.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback, and you're right about natural shade. SunSeekr currently calculates shadows from available building and geographic data, but trees and hedges aren't consistently available in the open datasets we use. We're working to improve this and you can now report inaccurate areas directly in the app. Local reports help us make the map better for everyone.

### 2/5 — Needs better data

*2025-08-20*

There was a website that did this back in the noughts and me and my friends have often wondered why no one had done it since so huge applause for trying.

The problem is that the simulation relies on a couple of data points meaning there can be huge inaccuracies. I’ve referenced the pubs near me and know that several don’t have outdoor drinking spaces or do but are always in shade past a certain time because of the shadows from surrounding buildings - two of them are under a flyover and never get sun despite the fact the app says otherwise.

Looking forward to future iterations but for now I can’t rely on it.

**Developer response:** Thanks for such thoughtful feedback. You identified one of the biggest challenges we needed to solve. Since V2, we've rebuilt SunSeekr around better spatial data and mapped outdoor areas rather than relying only on venue points. We're also adding community mapping and reporting so local knowledge can help correct missing terraces, structures and outdated information. We're a small independent team, so feedback like this genuinely helps shape where we go next.

### 3/5 — Slow :(

*2025-08-20*

It’s slow. Also user interface is not good. There is no easy to sign with google . Also password security is weak etc . I’ll delete the app :( not useable

**Developer response:** Thanks for trying SunSeekr back in V2. We've since completely rebuilt the app, with much faster map loading, a redesigned interface and improved sign-in and performance. V3 is a very different experience, and we'd love you to give it another try.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Didn’t do what I thought

*2026-08-05*

Couldn’t understand it, just came up with a map with some restaurants. Wanted to know which areas had sun didn’t seem to have that

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. You're right, the app wasn't making this clear enough. SunSeekr is designed to show where sunlight and shade fall, not just sunny venues. We've been improving the map experience and have also added SunPaths for finding sunnier or shadier walking routes. Coverage currently varies by city, so if you spot missing outdoor areas you can now map or report them directly in the app. We'd love you to give the new version another try.

### 1/5 — Innacurate

*2026-05-15*

Looks like it just does whether the general area is sunny, not the actual outdoor areas of the pub

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. SunSeekr simulates sunlight using building geometry and sun position, but the accuracy depends on the geographic data available for each area. Trees, awnings and smaller structures can sometimes be missing. We're making those limitations clearer and adding better ways to report and map local conditions. If you spot somewhere that's wrong, please flag it in the app so we can investigate it.

### 1/5 — Schlecht

*2026-04-13*

### 1/5 — It does not work anymore

*2026-03-20*

This was a great app. But it does not seem to work anymore :/

**Developer response:** Sorry about this, and thanks for sticking with SunSeekr. We've made a lot of reliability and performance improvements since your review. If you're willing to give the latest version another try, we'd really appreciate it. If something still isn't working, please use Report an Issue in the app so we can investigate it directly.

### 1/5 — Not Working/Useless

*2025-09-24*

Unfortunately nothing works on the app, good idea and concept, if only it actually did what it is meant to

**Developer response:** Thanks for trying SunSeekr back in V2. We've since completely rebuilt the app. Version 3 has a new map experience, mapped outdoor areas, hourly sun exposure, faster performance and much better reporting tools. It's a very different SunSeekr now, and we'd love you to give it another try.

### 1/5 — Not good

*2025-09-21*

Not accurate at all. When you get to the pub/restaurant etc the garden isn’t in the sun at all. Good concept but needs changing massively

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. This was one of the big problems we wanted to solve. Since your review, we've completely rebuilt SunSeekr. Version 3 now maps the actual outdoor seating area rather than relying only on a venue location, and shows its sun exposure throughout the day. We'd love you to give the new version another try.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-08-26*

This app is slow, not working properly. The idea is also not creative, you can find better information from Google Business Profile of any pub.

**Developer response:** Thanks for trying SunSeekr back in V2. We've completely rebuilt the app since your review. V3 goes beyond venue information by mapping outdoor areas and simulating how sunlight and shade move across them throughout the day. We've also made major improvements to speed and usability. We'd love you to give the new version another try.

### 1/5 — Fokussierung nicht vorhanden

*2025-06-27*

### 1/5 — Doesnt work

*2025-05-13*

Lovely concept in theory but doesn’t work and is glitchy AF. We are at a pub now that is supposed to have sun for another hour and neither the front of the pub nor the back garden have a slither of sun

**Developer response:** Hi! We're sorry SunSeekr didn't meet your expectations. User experience is our top priority and your feedback is valuable.

We've been working hard on improvements based on user feedback:
- Simplified, more intuitive interface coming in Version 2.0
- Better navigation and clearer controls
- Enhanced performance and reliability

We'd love a second chance to show you the improvements! Feel free to reach out at support@sunseekr.com for personalized help.

### 1/5 — Not showing any place in the sun or in the map

*2025-05-05*

It didn’t work and I deleted it straight away

**Developer response:** Hi! Sorry you experienced loading issues. This could be due to connection problems or location permissions not being enabled.

Quick troubleshooting:
- Enable location services for SunSeekr
- Check your internet connection
- Try refreshing the app

Note: Our predictions are simulations based on available map data - local conditions may differ, so we always recommend checking before visiting.

Version 2.0 includes both improved predictions AND verified venues we've personally inspected!

Email support@sunseekr.com for help getting it working!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Super coole Idee

*2026-04-27*

### 5/5 — So nich!

*2026-04-20*

Klare Empfehlung.

**Developer response:** Vielen Dank!

### 5/5 — Inspired!

*2026-03-21*

Using 3.0 version and it is very slick, very fast and has some great features. This is going to be an essential summer app in London! Well done 👏

**Developer response:** Thank you! This is exactly what we hoped SunSeekr would be useful for ☀️ We've kept building since your review, including better mapped outdoor areas and SunPaths for finding sunny or shady walks. Thanks for being an early SunSeekr.

### 5/5 — Game-changing app for afternoon pints

*2025-06-02*

For years I wished someone made this app - now my dream has come true! Sure, the UI could be a little more slick but it can find me a pub in the sun and that’s all that matters.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much! 🍺☀️ You totally get what SunSeekr is about - finding those perfect sunny afternoon spots!

You're right about the UI - we've been working on making it even slicker. Version 2.0 is coming soon with a beautiful new interface while keeping the same awesome sunny spot finding power you love.

Thanks for being an early supporter - enjoy those sunny pints! 🌞

- Mo & the SunSeekr team

### 5/5 — Brilliant.

*2025-05-17*

Game changer, well done Mohamed.

### 5/5 — Had this idea, didn’t know how to make it

*2025-05-01*

God bless you sir

### 5/5 — Beer & Sun

*2025-04-28*

Brilliant app does exactly what it’s intended to do very simple to use

### 4/5 — Would like to set accurate location

*2026-04-30*

I’m in Denver on the map but the app says at the top that I’m in Los Angeles in terms of the weather. It is still nice to be able to see the areas that are shaded around me in downtown Denver. You can also move the time so that you can see where the sun will be hitting in the future. Great for checking if the sun is out on the pool deck yet!

**Developer response:** Thanks for flagging this, and glad the sun and shade map has been useful in Denver! The weather location showing Los Angeles while you're in Denver definitely isn't right. We've been improving location handling and will keep working on this. Thanks for the really helpful feedback ☀️

### 4/5 — Easy to use and works well

*2025-05-25*

Only thing it’s missing it’s a favourites tab as manny places have similar names and scrolling on the map to find the location can be frustrating

**Developer response:** Thanks Josh! 🙌 Great feedback about the favorites feature - you're absolutely right!

Exciting news: Version 2.0 (launching soon) includes exactly what you requested:
⭐ Save favourites — Build your personal sunshine list
- Quick access to your go-to sunny spots
- No more scrolling to find venues with similar names
- Sync across devices when signed in

Your feedback directly shapes our updates. Keep finding those sunny spots! ☀️

- Mo & the SunSeekr team

### 3/5 — Add Satellite Image

*2025-08-24*

This would be great if you had the option to use satellite imagery overlayed with shadows. Then we could see when gardens are in the sun

**Developer response:** Thanks for the suggestion. Being able to understand the real outdoor space alongside our sun and shade simulation is exactly the kind of problem we've been working on. V3 now includes mapped outdoor areas so we can model the actual terrace rather than just the venue point. Satellite imagery is still a great idea for us to explore further. Thanks for helping shape SunSeekr!
