Mission Statement Sunset Foods is a neighborhood supermarket dedicated to providing the finest customer service found anywhere. We are small enough to get to know our customers, but we are also large enough to offer the most outstanding selection at competitive prices. We are committed to finding and training friendly, conscientious, and knowledgeable staff who help us provide the freshest, highest quality products in clean, fun-to-shop stores. History Sunset foods is a family-owned grocery store founded in 1937. Sunset offers a wide selection of organic, gourmet, specialty and fresh food items and its committed to outstanding customer service and community involvement. Today, Sunset has five locations with stores in Highland Park, Lake Forest, Libertyville, Long Grove, and Northbrook that employ approximately 900 employees. The Managing Directors of the company are Mr. John E. Cortesi, Mr. Richard Cortesi and Mr. Ron Cizzon. Community Service The owners place a premium on giving back to the communities we serve. Supporting local organizations is an integral part of the company's overall business philosophy. Sunset supports nearly 300 local organizations each year by participating in fund raising activities, sponsoring a variety of events and making monetary donations.
