## What is Sunstead?

Know where to stand, and when.

Sunstead tells you when the sun sets tonight, which way to look, and whether the sky is worth going outside for.

WHEN
Tonight's sunset time, the compass bearing the sun will actually set on, and the moments golden hour and blue hour begin — computed from exactly where you are, anywhere on earth.

WHETHER
A nightly read on the sky, built from cloud data at the altitudes that actually colour a sunset. It is set against the past week, so you can tell at a glance whether tonight is unusual or just another evening.

WHERE
Ranked places to stand, scored on what you can genuinely see from them: open water, a distant skyline, a landmark in the frame, and whether anything is standing in the way. Nothing is picked by hand.

ALIGNMENTS
A few days each year, the setting sun lines up with a city's street grid and drops straight down the middle of the avenue. Sunstead works those dates out years in advance for every mapped city, and will remind you before one arrives.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account, no sign-in, no profile. Your location is used on your phone to do the astronomy and is never sent to a server of ours, because we do not run one.

Sunstead works everywhere. Sunset times, directions and tonight's sky are computed wherever you are. Ranked spots and street-grid alignments are available in the cities mapped so far, with more being added.

SUBSCRIPTION
Sunstead requires a subscription: $4.99 per week with a 3-day free trial, or $39.99 per year. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your device Settings. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.
